  • In this video I walk through each day for 5 days with the Advantage 2 keyboard to see if it is something I could actually use in my day to day programming life. I've seen a few videos of people looking at this keyboard but none that show what the experience was like.
Hopefully you'll be able to see the entire experience. This is part 1 in a 2 part series so stay tuned for the final video in another couple of weeks.

Probably too late but if you are still using the keyboard and still struggling, you can use your right hand for the Shift + Ctrl combo and use your left hand for copy/paste etc. You can also configure pretty much all the keys the way you want to.

nice lengthy review showing your pro/cons, so did you ever try changing the keys around or macroing any commands to help with the problems? Also now that you have had this keyboard for a much longer time, has it improve drastically? Would you recommend it? Lastly with those far reaches you were having to do, has it still be comfortable and reduced pain in typing all day with the ergonomics of the keyboard?

Why not swap the Enter and Back Space keys? Also, to copy or paste, why not use the Shift key with your right pinkie, and then type Control and C with your left hand, so neither hand ever leaves the home row?

Thanks for the post Glenn, I'm really interested as I've always liked the ergonomic keyboard but my typing skills are poor on either. I also wonder if any of the keys could be reprogrammed and snap off keys changed?

I recently got the same keyboard, any tips on getting better at typing fast? or typing anything at all?

I went through a couple of attempts to learn it, but then after about 3 weeks or so and a few work projects it became better than regular keyboards

I'm not a programmer and I am not an expert typist but I think you are missing the point of this keyboard. If you have combinations you don't like to type you can create your own shortcut or move the key

You can do that with most any keyboard. The entire point of this keyboard is to supposedly save your wrists and make it more comfortable to type. I don't think I missed that aspect of it unless you're talking about something else.

@@nizexlizzy you definitely missed it as the comment suggests. Did you at least try to set up a custom configuration? The default keys are placeholders meant to be changed. I'm actually shocked that you kept the defaults and tried to get used to them. Especially as a linux/vim user. Ouch.

Hi!! Do you know if it is confortable for women or if there are different sizes? I'm tired of being things made for men :(

They only make one size but it isn't even comfortable for Men. That was probably the worst keyboard I have ever tried to use.

Yeah, I did another video on it. Ended up returning the board as it wasn't anything close to what was advertised. I found many of the keys tiring to press and my typing speed when down quite a bit.
After a week of messing with it the constant mistakes typed while using the board just were not worth it. I also found my hands more tired than on normal keyboard.
