  • To mark the hundredth anniversary of the birth of architect José María García de Paredes (Seville, 1924 - Madrid, 1990), the Museo Reina Sofía, which has conserved his archive since 2021, honours this landmark through his daughter Ángela, also an architect, who in this interview looks back over his life and work. Despite no real vocation for architecture initially, García de Paredes built a solid, well-respected professional career in which he carried out hugely significant projects, both in collaboration with other architects and individually. His strong musical sensibility and marriage to Isabel de Falla, the niece of composer Manuel de Falla, would ultimately strengthen his ties to the discipline, undoubtedly making him the Spanish architect to design the largest number of stage spaces throughout a career cut short by his sudden death in 1990.
