I've recently been saved and my first day of church after being saved was Christmas eve! I was on my death bed with septic infection and had 3 stints put in my heart, I found out that I an aneurysm in my aortic that is at 5cm, they also found a spot on my lungs and I lost my job! So God has been blessing us since! We found a church that has accepted a ole rough guy like me! We didn't have much money but I was putting what I could in the offering. But God has provided! Somehow my sister gave me a Duck Commander Bible. My testimony is another story. Love y'all brother's in Christ!
It's amazing how God can love people like me! Back when I hauled cars. I stopped by ya'lls headquarters and bought a few items for friends and family! God has humbled my heart!

How do I choose to be a loving and forgiving daughter when he is so difficult to deal with. Whit 350z I believe you can honor your father by speaking well of him and praying over him. You do not however have to take his abuse. Honor goes both ways.

The 5th commandment doesn't say honor your father and mother if they are good and sober and not difficult to get along with. There are options out there to help get him off drugs. God doesn't turn His back on his children when we sin. We should love and forgive as God through Christ has loved and forgives us. May God bless you!
This is an old post, but I'm just seeing this. Please pray! Forgive him bc God said we must forgive others or he can't forgive us. Pray for discernment. My father abused me as a child. I know he wasn't being led by God. He was being led by something else. We're either being led by one force or another. Knowing that wasn't your dad doing those things to you helps. When you can see it from a Christian standpoint, it helps to see things for what they are. Pray your father finds Christ. Pray God gives you a forgiving heart and discernment. I could explain it better by talking, not much of a typer, but praying is the only answer!
I disagree with the pastor saying “underneath the curse of the law” listen guys and gals. Sin is the separation of god, well you might ask how is that true or how did we become separated from god. Well separation from god is whenever we ignore the instructions(law) that god has given us. Proverbs 28:9 says, "If one turns away his ear from hearing the torah even his prayer is an abomination". Try your best to learn the law and live by it to the best of your ability and you’ll see that your relationship is closer to god. Remember our relationship with god is just like marriage and sometimes you gotta put in the work in order to meet each other in the middle
