Dawn of the Dead is the best horror film i've seen. I'm 49. Iv'e seen a lot of horror films. I saw this film in the theater in New York City in 1978. I was 7-years old. When I say i was terrorized. I can't even elaborate. I remember when I would go to a mall in Brooklyn and it would start getting late i would always think of Dawn of the Dead. I would hate to be at the mall when it was getting dark. Dawn of the Dead is a great film.
Literally the greatest zombie movie I’ve ever seen in my life. (Day of the Dead is a very close second favorite) I love the walking dead and not even that is as good as this masterpiece of horror.

I’m purchasing a 4K player next and then a 4K TV a little later. Dawn is one of my all time favorite movies and I’m so happy to see it receive the treatment it deserves!
Grateful for this movie as it opened my eyes to the genre. Growing up not far from Pittsburgh (and now living here) I think it was inevitable. Can’t even describe the impact it had on me as a teenager. Thanks for touching on the social commentary aspect too. Great stuff Pizowell!
@@albundy774 I noticed that too, but when reading into it I discovered that Severin has helped with extras on a couple of other Second Sight releases that Severin did not ever put out a release of.
Just a nitpick: Romero did not invent the concept of reanimated cannibalistic zombies. The Epic of Gilgamesh beat it to the punch by, oh, two thousand years or so.

Mine arrived this past Friday and I just got through the bouns disc today sans the 1 hour and 31 minute or the 1 hour and 42 minute Document of the Dead can't wait to dig into those tomorrow!
Definitely a landmark. Romero and crew did A LOT with a little on that film. Night is not just an important horror film, but an important independent film.
I wait for the standard edition, I hate that bulky thing with a 2 huge books bible that in my case I don't want, the standard will have the same 4 discs! I don't need the CDs too.

Bought this set in both 4k and Blu-ray to future proof, but ended up getting a 4k set up before getting the standard blu ray in the mail. Might just sell the standard blu ray to a buddy or hold onto it until it goes out of print and make someone's day with a good price.
I don;t need to have a 4k tv or ps4 pro do I?? really want this. big fan of this movie. My fav and the best of the series. I like it waaaaaaay more than the remake day of the dead (all) land diary and survival.
The box sets are either 4k and in which case you will need a 4k tv and 4k player. There is a bl U ray set but it is region b locked so you would need a region b or region free bluray player
So far I've only watched the theatrical version in 4k. The clarity is phenomenal although the contrast is much grayer than I've ever seen it. While that makes it seasonly appropriate for the area it made the images look some what dull
All these new releases are just slightly different lighting and color tone changes, theres videos here that show the different versions of 4k and the only difference is what I had said, dont buy these and hold out on them, they for sure are milking it and have things not released and the only way youll get them is to not buy these.

I watch Dawn of the Dead on all media betamax VHS DVD I remember when Cinemax First Premiere Dawn of the Dead then IFC started playing it a lot

Is this region restricted?
Extra blu-ray is region b, 4k discs are all region.
4K discs are natively region free, but the bonus Blu-ray is Region B locked.
My bluray player wont play these discs , i gotta get a new player to see these other cuts , i cant wait !🧟♂️🤘🏻👍🏻
