- My last supplement schedule was in 2016, so it desperately needed updating. This foolproof supplement schedule tells you everything you need to know about how and when to add supplements to your leopard geckos and other reptile's food, as well as what lighting works best and when it comes on and goes off. oh thank god you posted this! ive been doing so much research but nobody gives a clear answer for when to supplement (and what to supplement.) this is just the thing i needed!
Me too!!!
It's not too "one size fits all" with supplements. Some animals will eat little on some days and more on the others. If they're not eating well on supplementation days, you could need an extra bit on other days. So it's worth keeping the amount of food in mind. Kinda obvious, but just saying
thank you for this, i was supplimenting with just calcium every time and repton every 8th feed, my gecko would eat but he didnt always seem excited and i had to really wait to get him interested. because of this video i've bought the arcadia supplements, he's much more interested and when i first gave it to him he actually licked it off the bug, he's now Instantly interested in food! He's my first gecko ever so this is a huge relief.
I will be adopting an adult female leo from a local pet shop very soon,so thanks for the update on this.
I have followed your channel for over a year and have really enjoyed it.
I really appreciate this video!! I’m adding a shade dweller 7% Arcadia uvb light to both of my geckos tanks soon and will be ordering the full Arcadia supplementing routine 😊
THIS IS SUCH PERFECT TIMING I JUST GOT A NEW LEO
I just bought all these for my little bebe.
Thanks for this! Your Lumenize setup is much more simple than mine is. The thing I wish Arcadia would do is create a "fade" effect, so to speak, so if you have your light set to 50% at, say, 5pm, but then 10% at 6pm, it would gradually fade to that lower setting.
I’m with you on that. It’s always awkward if I’m sitting at my desk (in the same room my reptiles are in) and all of a sudden, it goes from a decent 10% to just complete darkness…
@@Geeeckoo0 exactly! I'm in the same situation. They're in my office, and boom! Complete darkness.
And I'm a programmer by trade, so it's hard for me not to think through possible solutions.....
It doesn't fade? I thought that was the point of it. Am I understanding correctly that it jumps from percentage to percentage, like going from 20% to 10% in an instant for example.
@@rutger5705 yeah, it jumps percentages. It’s nice, but it’s not a seamless fade like I thought it would be when I bought it 💀
@@Geeeckoo0 That's dissapointing. Still better then a 0% to 100% jump from a regular JungleDawn, but I might look for a different LED then when my JungleDawn's break. Although, is there not a way to set the jumps by 1% and then do that once a minute? I wonder if that's bad for the light though.
This video is MASSIVELY helpful, thank you sooooo much
I use the Arcadia shade-dweller and then repashy calcium plus. Have had great success with that.
I love this channel and I've watched hours and hours of it, but the new videos never appear in my recommended sections
You're being shadowbanned! Lol
Super helpful this was awesome, could you do a similar video for the newcaledonian geckos please
Can you do a similar video for Chahoua's
Thanks for the video! One quick question- do you keep a container of plain calcium inside the terrarium besides this.? ❤
thank you for posting this!!
Thanks so much for this video! I use the exact same supplements and follow Arcadia's guide. However, I only feel my blue tongue once a week. I've been wondering if he's getting all he needs.
Thank you !!!!! Soooo helpful!!
That’s Maui right? He is huge and so cute!! Also thank you, I wanted to learn more on UVB and supplementing!
Muchas gracias por tu ayuda. Sigue asi😊
Thanks. This is very helpful
Do the supplements expire quick? Thinking of getting the 450mg over the 100mg to last me all year or longer if possible. Thank you!
Could you do one of these for crested geckos please? Mine doesnt eat bugs so i struggle with supplements 😊
I know this is probably a stupid question, i feed my leo every 3-4 days, so what should my supplement schedule look like? As the one you made is for someone who feeds their leo every 2 days which I'd say is for a baby/juviniles
It doesn´t matter, You feed him 3 times Earth Pro A, then one time Calcium Pro mg, then again 3 times Earth Pro A and on the eighth time you feed the Revitalise D3 once. Doesn´t matter if you feed every day or every second, third, fourth, or fifth day. She even said it in the video
Your CZcams channel has made my Leo so happy . His name is Theo short for Theodore Ive had Theodore for 2 -3 years . he now lives in a bio active enclosure 40 gallon with all Arcadia brand items ! Can’t thank you enough for such informative videos .
Amazing vid, seriously cant believe this is free. Small question, do you NEED the jungle dawn LED bar or could you just use the light from the UVB bulb?
The Jungle Dawn LED is for the plants (and supplemental light), so if you don't have any plants in your vivarium, you could most likely pass. As you can see with hers, all of the setups are bioactive, so it's definitely needed!
@@thehollowdavid thanks a lot!
@@JoshuaH. Of course! Just paying it forward. :)
@@thehollowdavidI would highly recommend using LED's for any reptile. They are so underused imo. Visible light is extremely important and even a bright LED like a JungleDawn isn't close to actual sunlight in terms of visible light, so imagine how dark an enclosure is without LED.
@@rutger5705 Totally. Again, it depends on the setup, right? For example, in my office, I have two huge windows. My lights are always on. It's well-lit, so when it comes to lighting alone, I wouldn't need an LED. Two of my setups have them, because I have real plants in there, whereas the garg I just rehomed came with an enclosure, but no real plants, and he's right by the window. But again, agreed. It's why I tried to state "could most likely pass".
Hey, any chance you have made or will make a video about how to adjust setups for special needs geckos? I adopted one a few days ago that is missing most of his toes. One foot is so bad that all the toes are gone - just little nubs are left. I noticed he struggles when trying to climb on top of his hides. I was thinking of trying to use epoxy on the outside of the hides and cover it with coco fiber to make it easier to grip. I'm not sure if you have any more tips. From what the previous owner told me, he's about 3 yrs old, so he has a long life ahead of him and I don't want him to have a poor quality of life because climbing is difficult. I was thinking of trying to find or make wider ledges for him and maybe a more shallow angle so it's easier for him to get on it and maybe he'll be less likely to slip off.
Hi i have just upgraded my viv and now have a multi tlme thermostat. I was using day and night settings on a dimming stat 32 degrees day and 24 night. What would you recommend for multi channel settings in time and temperature in 6 hour segments.
Regards.
I'm getting a leperd gecko
How do you work for Arcadia and not have the room fully outfitted with lumenize? Not only are you a massive channel, but you’re an employee!
I find it mind boggling
Just because they sponsor her doesn’t mean that she can just get whatever she wants for free
@@biophilia5945 not sponsored, an actual on the books employee
We'res the best place for a hydrometer probe in a gecko tank????
Do you still feed D3 even though you have UVB? I've been told to only offer D3 if I didn't have UVB. Love your channel!! I have learned so much in preparing for our leo. Thanks!
Offer D3 as a boost :)
Is everyone else confused by the website? Where do we purchase things..?
I need help !! I literally treat my Leo like a baby 😂 but he got eye infection he wouldn’t open eye I don’t know what to do I got eye drops from vet but having trouble with him opening eye still to get them in 😢
I'm trying to find some custodian fuel but I can't find it anywhere.
Wild gecko living without additional supps: oh, yummy beetle. I'm good for next 5 days.
Pet gecko after one day without additional supps: guess I'll die
hey!! i need advice on my leopard gecko. hes in a 36x18x18 (40 gallon) tank thats bio active with a custom reptile habitats background. I think theres a lot of good places to hide and climb, and the tempatures are all correct as far as i know. lately though, hes been climbing to the top of the background and grabbing on to the mesh ceiling and climbing upside down??? i am scared that he will fall or climb under the mesh beneath the deep heat projector and get burned. should i buy a reptile hammock and some more wood so he doesnt feel the need to do this and has more opportunities to climb, or somehow remove the opportunity to get up there so he cant at all. any advice appreciated!!
Hello 😊😊
Do you have any advice for people who live in colder climates? Also our house has to be at a 68 degree temp. So we’ve been having a hard time trying to give the tank some warmth without drying it out and the humidity disappears. Because it gets so cold and we’ve put a heat emitter, but it brings the humidity down SO FAST! So we’re trying to find a happy solution to not only giving him the warmth to retreat to that he needs, and a cooler area for moisture but also keeping the humidity good as well. Any tips? :)
You could move a water bowl closer to hot side causing it to result in humidity from the vapours but you'll have to watch it I've never done this
I don't feed my gecko supplements. I feed my crickets orange cubes. Is this enough? He seems to be heathy.
Not enough at all. You are going to need normal calcium and calcium d3 at least
try gut loading your incects with fresh fruit and vegetables if you can i think, and supplement with calcium sometimes and vitamins (with d3) other times
your gecko will die if you dont get supplements. please trust me on this
I wonder who feeds all the wild geckos supplements and vitamins, cuz apparently they DIE without it - but seem to be living in the wild for millions of years
@@revol2933 you dont need to be sarcastic. In the wild geckos lick rocks and special soil for their minerals etc, and in the wild crickets have a richer diet than what we can afford in captivity. I study them in the wild and we do need calcium and vitamins for their sake since we cant replicate their habitat naturally. Without it, theyd get metabolic bone disease
POV you live in the usa
Zoomed Reptivite and Repashy Calciun Plus or Supervite are good multivitamins.
