Actually lawyers tell the clients to address the jury as thery are the ones that need convincing. Not the judge or the lawyers. She is doing exactly what her lawyers tell her to do. In Virginia, for Depp to win the case, he needs all the jurors to side with him. If even 1 of them sides with her, she wins in that she wont have to pay the 50 mil. Lawyers probably told her to seek that 1 juror and work him over. Virginia law states that any civil law suit with jurors, it has to be undisputed juror wise

Let me preface this by saying I have a terrible memory, sometimes forget the TV show that I'm watching once a commercial comes on. I was with a man who for 2 years who abused me physically, sexually and emotionally. He raped me, intentionally caused me to miscarry a child, burned me with cigarettes.. and every single assault I can describe in sequence with details down to what color the cup was it was laying on the bed when he raped me after beating me trying to get me to miscarry our child. I do not believe a word that Amber is saying. When you are physically and sexually abused by someone you don't forget, I wish we could forget, but it is repeat in your mind constantly eating at you. That trauma never goes away. I hate when someone lies about abuse because it makes it hard for the rest of us that actually are abused to be believed.

Trauma sucks. I’m sorry. Most people don’t remember small details from traumatic memories. In fact, they often remember fewer straight forward facts than they would otherwise. Their memories are a blur of sounds, smells, feelings, etc. Of course there can be different coping mechanisms that kick in for different people and different contexts. I think I remember the expert witness psychiatrist for Depp mentioned this. But she said Heard’s way of describing things from events was incongruent with a person who experienced trauma from those events: different focuses on things, different manner of describing things, etc. Again, we can see Heard is lying, but not because she says she doesn’t recall things.

You coud make the argument that she wouldn't want to get help or would somewhat repress the memory. People process trauma in different ways. The stuff that is important is all the contradictory evidence and lack of any witness testimony for anything. There are literal recordings played of them discussing the events and it's all her apologising and seeming guility with absolutely no mention of his abuse to her. At no point in any recordings does she seem scared of him, she is just berating and laughing at him. Near enough every piece of evidence is indicative of her emotional and sometimes physical abuse towards him. And I'm going to state the elephant in the room, the only way she can even begin to have a case that got this far is because of gender, any evidence like this with the roles reversed would be immediately damning.
Imagine if there was litrally evidence of Ambers finger being servered, clips of him admittnig to hitting her, imagine he got on stand and admitting to hitting her to keep her from pushing past a door that HE was barricading to stop her from leaving. All because he wanted to get through their issues rather than let her run away. Imagine she tries to leave him and he constantly texts her saying how sorry he is and what her leaving is doing to him.

    • @herman5302
      @herman5302 Před 2 lety

@@AVerySillySausage I do agree with you that she does not seem believable. It is also weird that when her own lawyers questioned her, she remembers everything, but when Johnny's do, she doesn't remember anything. I also think the main problem is her lack of evidence against him, plus all of the evidence against her.
Of course if the roles were reversed it wouldn't be the same thing. That is because domestic abuse against women is a big problem in today's society and that is why it gets people worried. If the roles were reversed, people wouldn't be as mad at him either, for making false accusations, as they are with Amber now. Because abuse against WOMEN is a more sensitive topic to lie about, because it's a bigger problem today. And people have a right to be mad at her, because it IS a sensitive topic

My mother says that this is a liars biggest downfall. Because if you lie to this degree for any reason, the only way you will win is if you truly convince yourself it's real. You have to repeat the events over and over again every waking minute. It basically becomes your life until you start to believe what you're telling yourself. This is how long term criminals get caught. They forget what they told the police and they slip up years later.
Amber is forgetting way too much and it's showing just what's a lie in her testimony. She has claimed so much but didn't keep track nor does it seem like she even practiced. The persons lawyer brings out the story they want to tell putting their spin on it. The cross examination from the defendant side it to to break holes in the initial story, if applicable. Law isn't easy to decipher! Criminal law can end in jail time, civil (like this) is money for damages. You can win one and not the other, that has always been strange to me but its different criteria, you could search.

@@aky19832001 It's a sequence of hits or blows that just keep you from getting back up. It would be like trying to stand up after getting hit by a big wave at the beach and then getting blasted in the back by another one. Usually though it's used in video games like the dark souls franchise because you often can be stunned for a moment when hit and unable to move or dodge away, but you can still be hit in this period so stun locking is continuous hits that keep you in that stun period until you're dead. And that's what Ms. Vasquez is doing here, just blow or blow or blow and every time the defense thinks they have a second to get up, bam, hit by another one and they're down again. It's beautiful to watch

I have confidence now, but if I were to have to relive, retell the AB in court, it would bring me back to that "time", back to those days.
There would be no way for me to walk into court with my head so high, nose in the air, and stare so confidently at the jurors. Because although I was the victim, I still feel ashamed. Im embarrassed. Im embarrassed for falling victim & for being with such a vile person as my ex spouse.

Alot of times attorneys advise their clients to address the jury when answering questions.
When AH's own Attorney, Elaine questions her ( easy leading questions), AH will address both Elaine and the jury, looking from one to the other as she answers Elaine's questions.
Yet... when Camille questions AH, her face hardens and AH does her best to show Camille she will address the jury, but she will not address Camille when answering.
The jury is seeing AH's behavior. This is not a criminal trial; subsequently, the entire process on the decision making will be left to the jury to determine which side is 51% more believable.
AH being defiant, acting rude, talking back, etc., does not show the jury this is a person whose been abused. Most DV victims are afraid to look people in the eyes, they become introverted, are afraid to say much, are not usually combative and will normally cooperate with all aspects of the legal process. Most times they are still so afraid of the perpetrator, they say very little and answer only yes and no if they can.
Victims of DV is horrible and devastating. It makes people afraid of all the "what if's", it destroys people's spirit, takes away their trust, etc., and more.
This entire trial is suppose to be about awareness and hope for real DV victims and for those wrongly accused of DV. But Ms.Heard and all her actions, words, false statements, etc., have turned this into a mockery. Mr. Depp reports being a victim of both DV and of being falsely accused of DV. He sits there mostly with his head down ( most DV victims act this way), he's a man and probably extremely embarrased that he allowed himself to become a victim and to now have to open up his personal life and all the skeletons in the closet for the world to see.
[This also brings awareness that men can also be victims of DV. Its because of people not informed on how it can happen or why, that many men do not report this to the police.] However, Mr. Depp is giving his story as the trial proceeds. An older man, falls for a younger woman, he tries to give her the world including allowing her family and friends to reside on their somewhat communal property. Maybe he thought their continous partying would stop, yet it never did. When he tried to regain control, he couldn't because he was met with hysteria of yelling, hitting etc., and he kept giving in and giving in to his wife, AH. One day when he finally gathers the strength to put all to a halt after getting his finger cut off and hearing of his wife's infidelities, etc., he decides to file for divorce, yet his spouse ( AH), beats him to it and calls the media to announce this prior to notifying him. Why? Because she, being the abuser wanted to stay in control and leave on her terms and not his. Ms. Heard's allegations of DV cost Mr. Depp the private personal life he's always led and it cost him current and future employment prospects; subsequently, Mr. Depp decided to fight back for the truth and to restore his name. And the rest... well we are hearing the rest as it unveils. Hopefully, Mr. Depp will give it some thought in becoming a spokesperson for men going through Domestic Violence and for those who have wrongly been accused of DV.
