    Hi Omer. Personally, I would change the entire shock assembly as one piece. It's makes the job quicker and you don't have to worry about removing the coil spring. I have a video on how to replace front shocks/struts on a Maxima as a reference point. Regarding the lateral link, check for cracks, distortion and/or other damage. Replace if necessary. Cheers.

    Great video, I was replacing the PCV on my 2001 maxima and while replacing it it broke off and fell inside. dohhh, now taking off the entire intake and and valve cover to get to it and replace the valve cover. its likely time to replace the gaskets always. got a great deal on a entire kit Intake kit $9 and valve cover gaskets kit. $13. just have to wait few days for it to be delivered. and I will replace the PCV and its tube along with it. since it turned to plastic and broke from age and heat

      Got it done, new PCV
      grommet/insulator
      OEM #11812-41B00 from dealer and pcv valve. And hose from local auto parts store. The car seemed to run better and was more responsive afterwards . I have some oil leaks and high oil consumption so I thought to change PCV first since it was likely 20 years old.

    Just went thru this on a 2001 maxima.
    It’s a little different but I defently needed to replace PVC. Car runs better , more responsive and I hope less oil consumption/leaking.
    Rear main seal was leaking and I think. front crank seal.
    I have used some at205 reseal oil additive which seemed to of helped make the leak manageable.

    Hi.. Really enjoyed your video and clear HD image, showing clearly every detail. I have a 1992 Nissan Maxima SE 5 sp. all original. I have owned this car for 23 yrs (march 5th was its birthday) I store it in the winter time and need to have the VTC replaced. The loud clackitty sound has become unbearable. Nissan Canada cannot supply the parts but the US parts are still available. Do you have a video explaining how this is done? Have you had this issue too? it was common on1992-1994 Nissan Maxima's. Thanks... Fred

    I have a 1998 Infinity I30 160 kms. Recently I've noticed it's hard starting in the morning.It turns over and fires but it dies much like out of gas when it is even full tank. I have been trying to press the gas and it runs no problem and starts every time in the day. I need to know from you guys if you have any idea what the causes of the problem. Thanks.

    • @CarsNToys

    • @jericjem22
      @jericjem22 Před 8 lety

      yeah,it's PO440,I thought it could be just the gas cap,I've replace it with aftermarket cancelled it but came back on.

      jericjem22 its an evap system leak

    • @richardbaron7106
      @richardbaron7106 Před 6 lety

      Yeah, so you probably fixed it already, but likely cause is the butterfly valve in throttle body is gummed up and / or MAF sensor dirty. Clean up the throttle body with carb or throttle body cleaner and spray the MAF sensor as well. First time starting after will be hard as the engine burns off the cleaner, but then it'll start just fine after that.

    What size hose does it use?

    • @JoeUrbanYYC
      @JoeUrbanYYC Před rokem +1

      It seems to be 3/8" inside diameter and 1/2" outside diameter which I can't find anywhere. Napa only has 5/8" outside diameter which means none of the original hose clamps can be reused.

    Do you know anything about a swirl control valve?

    • @CarsNToys
      @CarsNToys  Před 10 lety

      Yes, it's essentially a valve that improves fuel consumption. What are you looking for specifically?

    • @pignelly2
      @pignelly2 Před 10 lety

      My car makes a whistling noise like escaping air. It has no power. Showing a p1130 code- Swirl control valve. It also wont get over 2500-3000 rpm in any gear(standard trans.) or 60mph. Does that sound like symptoms of the swirl control valve?

    • @pignelly2
      @pignelly2 Před 10 lety

      I recently changed the coil packs, spark plugs and air intake boot.

    • @CarsNToys
      @CarsNToys  Před 10 lety +1

      You really want to test the swirl control solenoid valve. To do this, you'll need a multi-meter. I can upload schematics describing how to pinpoint the problem. Unfortunately my Maxima is pre-swirl valve so I can't upload a video. But if you want to give it a shot let me know and I'll upload schematics to my pinterest page.

    Please HELP!! I have a 1995 Maxima SE automatic with 332k miles on it. I've owned this vehicle for 20 years. I have an intermittent misfire when idling at a red light or with the car in drive. If I put in neutral the misfire pretty much stops. It's not giving off any codes and check engine light has not come on. I've changed plugs (NGK), after market ignition coils and air filter (only because it was time). I still have original injectors, fuel pump, changed mass air flow approx 10 years ago and PCV valve. What is the best way to diagnose this misfire without the computer giving any codes? I've been told it could be the computer, injectors, valve in my engine, EGR, could be the aftermarket ignition coils. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    • @CarsNToys
      @CarsNToys  Před 9 lety

      kfjones58 Unfortunately, there's quite a list to check. I'd try to stick with OEM rather than after market. Misfire can be generated by the fuel pump circuit, fuel pressure system, injector, pcv, ignition time is off, egr, or a bad cat. (Other systems usually drip the check engine light; such as mass air flow, o2 sensor, etc.) You'll have to go through each system and check the condition. I don't have any vids for fuel but I do have vids for the injector, pcv and egr. Just search my page or carsntoys.net. Good luck

      Thank you for your prompt response. You have definitely given me hope. I think I will take it to Nissan and have the injectors and fuel pump checked. After all, they do have >332k miles on them. It's going to cost me, but my baby is worth it. Thanks Again
