    Do you think you could make an intro or voiceover to these videos? (If you’re doing anymore) I think it’s a bit tricky to say which horse we like best, because we don’t quite know what you’re looking for. Are you looking for more so a horse to work on and improve? Or a horse that will take you to the next level in competitions?

      Ziggy SJ I thought this too, but maybe because they’re not her horses she’s not comfortable explaining why they did or didn’t suit her due to the fact that they’re all for sale. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    How was the stallion to ride? He seemed so balanced, powerful, and with such beautiful movement. That one has potential. The second gray mare was a pleasure to watch and a solid citizen. She hit the smaller jumps but woke up up when they got larger. Lol. Nice horse too.

    • @kayleerenee6713
      @kayleerenee6713 Před 4 lety

      i hate you I actually think he jumps nicely. Yes his forearm hangs a bit, but he’s lifting his knees and has good clearance over each fence. He’s definitely not an over jumper, but he never knocked or touched a pole. He just has a more hunter style. And it’s not like she jumped him high either, maybe 1.10 m tops, so most likely he has more scope in him and will be tidier the higher he goes. And I’m assuming with her doing the 1.30 now she’s looking for a horse that will do that or higher, so I doubt she would be trying him if she hasn’t at least seen him free jumped that height.

    Horse number 1 looks solid but seems to rush a lot. She might be better as a project as opposed to your next competition horse. The second grey mare looks like she loves to go higher! She also seems to struggle with it a bit though. Like she drops her head and can't pick it up.She then seems like she has to really muster up so much energy to get over. The stallion also looks solid but seems to not respond to the leg immediately, it seems like when your trying to correct him for a distance he isn't responding quick enough. These are just opinions I have made based on seeing this video, I have not met these horses, I don't know what Laurens looking for and I don't know what the horses are like in real life.

    Loved the stallion. I have a horse who jumps in a very similar style, and he jumps me out of anything and everything, so would love to see if this one did the same. I know a lot of horses with this style tend to drop rails, but he looked like he was paying attention and comfortable.
    The first mare didn’t seem to pay much attention and respect the fences. She cleared everything, sure, but she seemed a little quick and like she just jumped from wherever instead of paying attention to her stride and jumping accurately. That said, she has the talent to jump clean like that, and maybe if the fences got bigger she’d back off them. She just needs more work than the other two
    The second mare was lovely. She was paying attention, very quiet and collected, but picked up a little when the fences got bigger. That’s my kind of horse!

  • @emilyj7794
    @emilyj7794 Před 5 lety +22

    The first one appeared the anxious, busy type. Second one didn’t have a lot of scope and seemed to be struggling over the jumps. The stallion had potential however I don’t think that any of these horses will be one you will pick 🤷🏼‍♀️ You ride fantastically on any horse however!

  • @Amy-kn2nw
    @Amy-kn2nw Před 4 lety

    Out of the three I preferred the stallion. The first mare seemed very tense and hard to adjust, didn't seem that happy to do her job as the other two. The second mare, although more forward towards the larger fences, just not as forward as the stallion or as quiet. The stallion had a lovely canter, very fluid and overall very striking movement. Quiet and adjustable I think and a lovely jump. With his young age definitely some potential I think :)

    The first mare was very eager and had plenty of personality, but seemed a little all over the place. It’d be fun to work with, but she seemed a bit distracted and unstable ? The second mare I quite liked, but I wasn’t crazy about how her canter looked. I wasn’t on her of course, and don’t know how it felt, so that’s not for me to say. The stallion I loved, but he’s not for a person who truly liked a very fast, very forward moving horse. He was very eager, which I liked. On the other hand, I like how calm and steady the second mare was. I feel like she’d be really nice to work with. All three have so much potential.

    The second mare is really calm and she has a lovely scope💕 She's a bit slower than the others and her canter looks uncomfortable but I think she's got potential for jumping.
    The stallion looks like he needs more work... but he has a lovely stride💓 but it doesn't look that comfortable but is very careful when approaching the jumps...but I think he needs work on leg ades and jumping... he's quite green😂 but he looks like he has a great personality for a stallion...

  • @eleanoraaacr3372
    @eleanoraaacr3372 Před 4 lety

    The young stallion would be my favourite of the three; he looks pretty weedy right now but he's only 6 and once he's finished growing and chunked out a bit he'll gain so much power. I was impressed with how well balanced and rideable he looked for a relatively young horse; and he'll have much more mileage in him due to his age.
    Wasn't a fan of the first grey mare; she looked powerful but all over the place, like she was used to being ridden hard from the leg into a very strong hand. Second mare picked up considerably over the larger jumps, but at 12 (okay, okay, I know that your boy is older!), you'd probably have less time working with her.

  • @elinorprosser9883

    The first greys flat work put me off a little even though she jumped nicely because of the tendency to over bend and the shortness of her neck. Personal preference, I prefer short-coupled horses anyway but then if you are looking to breed from a mare you need a bit of room for a foal! 7 yo mare seemed pretty green and like she was trying to run away with you a bit. 12 yo mare looked like a sweetheart who will probably be a nice horse for someone but perhaps not someone of your ambitions. She seemed to struggle with the larger jumps and lack drive. 6 yo stallion actually looked really good considering how young he is. He seemed to have a pretty effortless rhythm to him. And I presume you're considering a stallion for the same reason you've previously only considered mares: you could breed him if he had an injury that compromised his showjumping but left him otherwise sound. These horse shopping videos are so fun, and I'm glad you choose to share them with us!

    1st mare.. looked heavy on the forehand, and dominate mare.. needs a better bit and more grid work to help her settle back, too forward to the jumps, and doesn't want to take direction.. I see nothing but a wreck in the future. Mares that are that thick-headed, and heavy need to be reset on some grids and poles.. and she seem to throw her self over the jumps.
    2nd mare.. OMG cute.. a little fat!! looks like she just had a baby..but she seems very heavy also in the forehand but smooth and scopey to the jumps.. takes off a tad late a few times.. ( knocking her back feet) but that is an easy fix! She also looks fairly small? She also flicks her ears back to listen to your cues better where horse 1 didn't at all!
    3rd The Stallion.. LOVE LOVE him. he was the best out of all of them, for this day.. he was fluid in his movement, a little heavy in the bridle, but thats a stud thing.. but he has the scope.. nice jump.. Love how he looks over the fences.. his bascule is to die for and you look SOOOO good on him.. he is by far my fave!! .. nothing negative at all other then he needs to get his head up just a tad before the jumps so he can see them better, but he has bounce to clear them just fine as is.. he would be my pick hands down.. and good stud is hard to come by..

    I would really love to know what you thought of these? I was not a great fan of the first mare, she seemed a bit green for her age. I enjoyed watching you riding the 12yo I thought she was also going to be green for a 12yo but she seemed well established and honest. You were able to gel with her well I thought. The 6yo was also very mature and seemed to have a nice level of schooling for his age, personally as stallion would be too much work but it’s just personal preference. I’m sorry if I have been prejudice against stallions.

    the first one seems good but she seems to have way too much energy and I don't really like the third one. It light be because he's still young. But I really like the seconde one! She is calm and jump very well. Even if she isn't the most beautiful one, she seems to be the nicest to ride 😊

    I like the stallion more than the others, the first grey mare looks good but she seems to feel uncomfortable as she's jumping and the second one is really on her shoulders and she doesn't has so much balance...

    The first mare has potential, just looks like she needs the experience. The second mare and the stallion look well balanced and ready to perform.

      Agreed. I would of avoided the second mare though. She needed loads of work. She seemed of more of a project to work with. She needed work with her frame and how tight she was. Nothing not fixable though! She seemed to not think before she acted.

    The first two horses bodies were rather big compared to their legs. The stallion had the better body ratio.

    So I did like all three as well. However in my opinion the 7 year old grey mare and the 6 year old stallion stood out the most. The 7 year was rushing the fences but that's something that can be worked with and she had the height and courage on her side too. The 6 year old stallion had scope and had a very nice striding, he also seemed to be very respectful of the other horses around him.

      lucarizard i think she doesn’t put them on their for owner privacy. just incase the horse acts up, doesn’t pass a PPE, or whatever the case, people can’t find the owner and harass them etc. 😊 i do agree with you though, i wish she could put the names of the horses but..
