What an amazing viaduct the Göltzsch is! Its tall and elegant brick arches are majestic.
@RunVirtual5 It really is majestic. It is just an incredible feeling standing in front of it.
Wow, what a beauty! Thank you for sharing.
@anamarijaj.4162 You are welcome. This viaduct is truly amazing. It is huge...
Wonderful brickwork and even limestone dressing! They don't make em' like that anymore! Like the old brickwork buildings of yesteryear!
@nightlightabcd Yes, it is beautiful.
Ich kenne das Viakukt schon, aber es immer wieder beeindruckend, wenn man es sieht, noch dazu so schön aus der Vogelperspektive. - I already know the viaduct, but it's always impressive when you see it, especially from a bird's eye view.
@montgomeryscott1656 It really is impressive. When you are near, it is just huge...
Great shots and thank you for showing me my home country 😂
@stephan6998 You are welcome.
My parents live quite close to that bridge. It is truly massive and a marvel of engineering. It is ancient for a railway bridge having been completed in 1851 and is to this day the largest brickstone bridge in the world. 26 million bricks were used.
Today the bridge is almost criminally neglected by local authorities. It has the potential to be a well known tourist spot but apparently the neighbouring communities aren't interested in the revenue this could bring.
@michaausleipzig Too bad. It really is an amazing piece of engineering. 26 million bricks ..it is almost incomprehensible.
