@@life_in_nagasaki Hello there Sho-san 🙂 Yes, that's very much true. Only the southern tip of the most southern province of "Limburg" has something that sort of reveals a mountain. This might be a nice historic story concerning the city of Leiden for you: From 30 october 1573 till the 3th of october 15474, during our 80 year war with Spain, the city of Leiden was besieged by the Spanish under command of the Duke of Alfa. The city, helped by their city walls, held out. Leading up to the 3th of october the Watergeusen (The Waterbeggars), a liberation army started breaking the levees to flood the lowlands and allow their ships to be able to move towards Leiden. The Spanish, seeing the liberation army advance, fled their positions and Leiden was liberated. Malnourished and near death the population of Leiden stumbled upon the Spanish food supplies and found carrots and parsnips in kettles in the former Spanish war camps. This would become the Dutch dish of “Hutspot” (although we use potatoes instead of parsnips now - mash boiled potatoes, carrots and onions together). I am very thankful for you explaining and speaking to us, it honestly feels great! As others have said some speaking and some not speaking sounds good. Also mixing English and Japanese is good. Thank you for sharing you life!
I like the balance talking and non talking in this video. On another note, look at you sharpening the knife and adding more variety into your cooking👍🏽👍🏽😊
I was surprised because your English was much better than I imagined. I think you can narrate your own videos, but I think it is a different style. I like your silent videos because they are very relaxing and mysterious. I think you could do both types of videos, silent and speaking.
Omg, you mastered your english so well! I also like this new format of vlogs, part is non-talk and another part is with talk. Pad-thai looked absolutely delish! Thank you for this vlog! ❤
You are right, brown rice is more nutritious and has a nutty taste compared to plain rice. I am a serious coffee drinker, you, on the other hand, a 'connoisseur coffee drinker. I prefer the arabica bean. It's strong and aromatic. After the first cup in the morning, I am ready to GO! The temple is like an island to rest one's mind and the hydrangeas help too. I agree, it's a treasure within the city. Pittsburgh, PA, has a similar landscape with the hilly slopes. Thanks for showing Nagasaki and opening up to its history.

Hi from Aus! I really love your videos, I find them really engaging! I really like both of your styles, both speaking and silent. Your vlogs are always so calming, and they are so unique. Hi I am from India and I love Japan and Japanese culture a lot. I love watching your video and hearing your voice. Please make videos in your voice and love your English it's so fluent
Woah!!!! I lived in Nagasaki before for a year and worked at Mitsubishi Kouyagi shipyard. The Nagasaki station now is very different. My apartment was near Youme town near Harbor terminal.
Hello. Nice video. Talking is good no matter which language. Garden is coming along nicely. Pad Thai is my favourite Thai food too. I make it often. You must be fit walking those distances. Yes our capital city Wellington is very hilly! One part there reminds me of Trieste in Italy when you drive on the road ..one side hills and otherside sea. Sometimes you see houses that are build on the cliff and virtoually hanging..so scary. What a beautiful temple! And the sea of hydranges!Best meals are the ones you cook. Soup is always satisfying..I was surprised to read that Miso is actualy not Japanese but was brought by Chinese to Japan some centuries ago. Cheers
Hi Dubi! Thank you for watching :) You like Pad Thai too! 😆 I’ve never tried to cook it, so I should give it a try sometime. I bet the landscapes and scenery in your country are beyond amazing. I really want to visit New Zealand in the future. The temple is so amazing. It's one of my top recommendations to visit. Many cultures were brought from China long ago, and I guess miso is one of them 😌📝
Your English is excellent and I enjoy hearing you talk about your lovely city. I agree that the hillside is a beautiful and interesting site. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us. Maybe talking videos for outdoors and just subtitles when you're at home but please do whatever makes you comfortable. Looking forward to the next video 🙂
Thank you for your kind comment! I'll try different types of videos and see how they work :) Lately, I think I'm a bit obsessed with the sloping areas...😆.
@@life_in_nagasakiit's a really interesting view in that these houses can conquer the hillside! I'm sure that hillside looks amazing in the evening too with all of the twinkling lights. I go to Japan at least every 2 years and am adding Nagasaki to my list of places to explore. You live in an amazing country and I can see how passionate you are about sharing your country with others. I also find your home videos quite relaxing and your cooking has given me ideas for simple clean but tasty food to prepare 🙂 I still have to motivate myself to plant some vegetables in my garden 😂
Yes!🥰 Nagasaki-San showed the port and the train station 🤩 Omg I'm so happy you started talking in your English channel videos too! I saw a glimpse of the greengrocer ehehe so cool😇mhhh The potato croquettes and dumplings looked so yummy yummy 🥵
Yes, we have many buildings on hills and slopes. Caracas is in a valley so only a small part of it is on flat land. For a moment I thought I was looking at an image of Caracas from the highway. Here there are beautiful buildings, others are not. In the poor areas the buildings are chaotic and motley. It is a city of great contrasts. Greetings from Venezuela. By the way, it's your channel, so do what makes you feel comfortable.👍
Hi! Thank you for your kind comment and for sharing about Caracas. I googled images of Caracas and found them very beautiful. I especially love the huge mountain behind the town 😆 Thank you for watching from Venezuela!
@@life_in_nagasaki Oh yes, the Avila National Park or Waraira Repano (indigenous name) is just wonderful. I try to go whenever I can and have camped there several times.
Either or! I like your English accent and I like hearing you speak Japanese…so whatever you’re comfortable with. Great video! I enjoyed the sightseeing, thank you 😊
Your English is really good! Certainly better than when I try to speak English :D I enjoy your videos either way, I like the silent ones but I also enjoyed hearing you talk. I watch a lot of Japanese vlogs and I also enjoy it when people speak Japanese, for me it's all enjoyable - I know this doesn't help you with deciding but I just want to let you know that I will continue to enjoy your content! Thank you for sharing your daily life with us!
I like the sound of your English. And if I’m not reading but listening I have more time to enjoy viewing your routine and Nagasaki. My vote goes for talking )
Hi Sho! It’s great when you do your walking videos, so do what ever makes you comfortable! Of course it’s easier for me to listen to you in English, but if you want to talk in Japanese then I will just read the subtitles! Carry on with the great work. 😊
Hi Antony! Thank you for your kind comment. I'll try several types and find the best and most comfortable way to create videos :) I’ll keep doing my best!😆
Just found your channel, hooked !😮 Thank you for the relaxing and informative content. In the UK we have lots of hills but they don’t tend to build on them with houses in the same way. One or two.
Thank you for discovering my channel, watching my video, and leaving a comment! 😆. Regarding the hilly areas in the UK, I’m curious as to why these 1 ~ 2people there chose to build houses on slopes in the first place...👀
Hello, and thank you for this informative video. So glad you enjoyed your lunch 🙂. Living in a place like Nagasaki definitely keeps you fit! -- all these steps and slopes, stepping and climbing... ;-) I loved the temple and the hydrangeans, too, and was fascinated by all the various coffees on offer at the coffee shop. In answer to your questions, yes, it's great to have narrated videos. I don't know Japanese, unfortunately, so I'd selfishly prefer for you to narrate them in English but it's obviously up to you, whatever you feel comfortable with. As for the scenery -- in the mountainous regions in south of my native country, Poland, we also have architecture like this. We also have trams, very similar to yours. -- Take care, and I hope your crops grow well. Till next time!
Hi! Thank you for your comment. I'll try several types of videos and see how they go :) Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed my video ☺️ Actually, I've lost more than 20kg since moving to Nagasaki 🤣 I have been to Poland twice when I was in university. I visited Warsaw and Poznan. Both cities are very beautiful! (I used the tram 😆) Next time, I should visit the hilly areas :)
@@life_in_nagasaki I was born in Poznan, lived there for the first 27 years of my life, and still visit regularly! Hope you enjoyed your visit there. 🙂
I think you should do a mixture of talking and non talking videos. I like to hear you speak when you’re out and about in the city, but when you’re at home, the subtitles are fine. Your English is very good but I think you should speak in whatever language you’re most comfortable in speaking. The soup you made looked delicious. And I love potato croquettes. I sometimes make them when I have leftover mashed potatoes.
Wow the Thai dish looks really good. I’ll definitely try it out next time. Actually I was in Nagasaki last week for the first time and loved them, people, food and places to go. So I will be back soon ❤
Thank You and Greetings from Colorado USA 🇺🇸 I’m new here. Just joined today. I enjoy hearing you in English. Although Love the non-verbal content. But, either way is fine. Love seeing Japan and what you do in a day and what you eat as I’m curious about how Japanese people live and eat and their routine.

Thank you for sharing the beautiful sights of Nagasaki. I would enjoy hearing you speak in English and Japanese, and it is nice to see you talking to us. Hydrangeas are beautiful, and your cooking looks delicious. See you next time.
I did not realize that you were so close to a train station which by the way is very nice. The area that you live in is absolutely gorgeous and I would love to live there. I really do like that you are talking in this video and I like when you speak in English but I also have been to Japan four times so if you spoke in Japanese I have subtitles and it wouldn't matter.
Thank you for your kind comment! Yes, the area where I live is very nice. Also, thank you for visiting Japan four times. I hope you'll visit and enjoy Nagasaki someday. ☺️
I absolutely loved how you did this video, a little of your face and a little of the scenery - back and forth. Seeing your face makes it more friendly.I am American so I of course prefer English. Which I feel you speak very well. I also really like pad thai, and drunk noodles. Both w/o meat for me. Thank you for showing us Nagasaki through your eyes.
Hi Kati-Ana! Thank you for your kind and encouraging comment. Thai food, including Pad Thai, is delicious, isn't it 😌 I'm glad to show you Nagasaki and that you enjoy it!
Yes speak in English … besides English is the international language of the world.. your English is more than adequate and I speak for most when I say it’s good and can understand you perfectly ….so yes please more vocal videos 🙏🏻
Hello Sho! Greetings from California. I like this format, where you both speak and use subtitles. Nagasaki is a beautiful place. The hydrangeas are so lovely. I also like to watch your normal home life and your garden. Please do another video like this again. Thank you and have a nice day 🙏
I agree with you on the brown rice. I love brown rice. I like to add spinach and beans and onions and garlic to it. If you make a large pot, you can freeze it in portions. You can speed up your compost by blending it all - if you have a blender. Add some well-rinsed egg shells (if you eat eggs) and a teaspoon of vinegar. You can add the coffee filter as well; paper is biodegradable. This will increase the beneficial microbes in your soil.
Hi, thank you for your comment. Adding them to brown rice sounds delicious! :) Thanks for your advice about the compost 📝. I'll make sure there's nothing non-environmentally friendly in the paper filter I use, so it will be safe to compost ☺️
I really like both formats, sometimes talking is needed , In the end it will be a decision you make maybe on the day or when walking. I like your english speaking voice its really nice and you are able to communicate really well in english and I guess talking on the video helps you practise too.
Thank you for your kind comment! ☺️ I'm glad you liked it. I'm not sure yet if I'll keep speaking in my videos, but I want to practice speaking English to share the charms of Nagasaki with more people :)

Hi from Aus! I really love your videos, I find them really engaging! I really like both of your styles, both speaking and silent. Your vlogs are always so calming, and they are so unique. I wonder if you might consider making announcements if you are planning to live stream? 😊 It would be awesome to be able to schedule it in and come along with you! Keep going, your channel is fab!
Hi Alex! Thank you for your kind comment. Viewers like you keep me motivated :) I'll make an announcement when I do my next livestream! I’d be glad if many people could join and enjoy it 😆
Hi I am from India and I love Japan and Japanese culture a lot. I love watching your video and hearing your voice. Please make videos in your voice and love your English it's so fluent
Hi! Thank you for watching from India! Yes, I'll try it sometime!
@@life_in_nagasaki Hey Thanks for your Reply ❤️😍
Yum the soup looks so good....
Your are a very clean and disciplined person 🫡
Thank you 🫡
Obrigado :)))
Woah!!!! I lived in Nagasaki before for a year and worked at Mitsubishi Kouyagi shipyard. The Nagasaki station now is very different. My apartment was near Youme town near Harbor terminal.
Wow! Nice to hear that!
Yes, Nagasaki is changing so quickly nowadays.
I hope you'll come back to Nagasaki someday 😌
I’m moving to Nagasaki in about 7 weeks so I’m glad I found your CZcams channel!! Thank you for the video 😊
Wow, really!? Welcome to Nagasaki :) I hope you love your stay here! :)
@@life_in_nagasaki thank you!! :)
Hello. Cheers
Hi Dubi! Thank you for watching :)
You like Pad Thai too!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed this video :) 🌱🥔🥘
I especially love the huge mountain behind the town 😆
Thank you for watching from Venezuela!
I enjoyed the sightseeing, thank you 😊
Thank you for your kind comment! I'll try different types of videos and see how it goes 😆
You speak English very well and did a great video. Hydrangeas change colour depending on the PH level in the soil.
Hi! Thank you for leaving a comment and teaching me about hydrangeas! :)
Thank you for your kind comment! I'll try several types of videos and see how they go :) Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed my video ☺️
Thanks!
Hi Dubi! Thank you so much...😭😭😭. I really appreciate your support!
I like the sound of your English. And if I’m not reading but listening I have more time to enjoy viewing your routine and Nagasaki. My vote goes for talking )
Thank you for your vote! 😆
Great Videos, and nice to see a face to the voice! I like your mix of speaking and subtitles.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
I love that you can speech English. Thanks for speaking in English Looks like a fun outing!
Thank you! I'm glad your enjoyed it :)
Your videos are getting better and better. I really enjoy it! Greetings from Germany
Hi Wollmaus! Thank you for encouraging me 😆 Viewers like you keep me motivated! Greetings from Nagasaki 🇯🇵🤝🇩🇪
I’m Thai. Very nice meeting you.
Thank you for watching!
such a calming video ...thankyou...and your English is really good i would definitely like to hear it more
Hi, Kumo. Thank you ! 😆
I'll try several types of videos and see how they go :) Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed my video ☺️
Actually, I've lost more than 20kg since moving to Nagasaki 🤣
I have been to Poland twice when I was in university.
Beautiful video and English 😊❤❤❤
Thank you! 😆
Love from india 🇮🇳 like watching you speak in vlog
Thank you!! Greetings from Nagasaki 😆
Thank you for your kind comment! I still have over 100 potatoes left, so I can make plenty of potato croquettes. 😆
Witam! Pozdrawiam z Polski
Dziękuję! Cieszę się, że Ci się podobało. Pozdrowienia z Nagasaki! ☺️
Wow the Thai dish looks really good. I’ll definitely try it out next time. Actually I was in Nagasaki last week for the first time and loved them, people, food and places to go. So I will be back soon ❤
Wow! You were in Nagasaki! Thank you for visiting! :)
And yes, Pad Thai is amazing!!! 😆
Thank you for finding my channel and watching my video :) I'll keep making more, so I hope you enjoy them. Greetings from Nagasaki!😌

New here...Great videos....
Thank you for discovering my channel! I'm glad it seems like you enjoyed my video :)
What a nice surprise to hear you talking. :) I like a mix of both. Sometimes it's nice to just listen to you cooking and cleaning, and living your life, but it's nice to hear you talk about where you live. :)
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed my video :) I'll try to create different types of videos from now on :)
nagasaki city of slopes is a great reference for my project in school. most of our project setting is on slope like we have to build house in a slope area or landscape. thanks for sharing this
I'm glad if my video is somewhat helpful for your projects! Good luck with them! :)

It’s nice to hear u narrates! U can do that for ur live stream too! Both fine with talking and non-talking ❤
Thank you for watching and leaving a kind comment! I'll try several patterns :)
I enjoy watching both, talking and non talking 😊 I only understand English so maybe I can learn something if you speak Japanese. I love that coffee shop!
Thanks! That coffee shop is my go-to, and I highly recommend it. :)
Thank you for sharing the beautiful sights of Nagasaki. I would enjoy hearing you speak in English and Japanese, and it is nice to see you talking to us. Hydrangeas are beautiful, and your cooking looks delicious. See you next time.
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the scenery in Nagasaki. See you next time! :)

Creating from Nagasaki, Japan ☺️
Thai food, including Pad Thai, is delicious, isn't it 😌
I'm glad to show you Nagasaki and that you enjoy it!
Yes speak in English … besides English is the international language of the world.. your English is more than adequate and I speak for most when I say it’s good and can understand you perfectly ….so yes please more vocal videos 🙏🏻
It was really neat to have you speaking in the video. Thank you.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it ☺️
Hello Sho! Greetings from California. I like this format, where you both speak and use subtitles. Nagasaki is a beautiful place. The hydrangeas are so lovely. I also like to watch your normal home life and your garden. Please do another video like this again. Thank you and have a nice day 🙏
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment! I'm experimenting with different types of videos to see what people enjoy☺️. Have a great day!
I like burdock root. I'm trying to grow it.

Thanks for your advice about the compost 📝. I'll make sure there's nothing non-environmentally friendly in the paper filter I use, so it will be safe to compost ☺️

Wow, I was wondering about talking, I love it, you should also speak a little Japanese ( with subtitles), that will be wonderful ❤️
Ronik!
Always happy to hear you Sho, keep on talking, you English is way better than my Japanese ;)
Thank you for your encouraging comment! I'll try several video types and see how they work ☺️
😊😊 you motivate me 😢🎉🎉🎉 nice vlog
You motivate me too! I watched some of your videos and I think you have great talent for video creation. I love your editing style ☺️
I have always wondered why you talk in livestreams, but not regular videos. I really enjoy seeing and hearing the person who is making the video. I also really enjoy listening to your English. Great job!
I feel like if it's a live stream, it's OK to make mistakes or say something wrong. But if it's a video, I tend to think I should make it as perfect as possible, which feels hard. However, I tried this time :) Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!
