My mother has been using hidden valley ranch powder and mash potatoes for years!! So good.
I always put some ranch in my corn.

In Denmark, the most common way we eat mashed potatoes is with fried bacon and onions, often garnished with pickled beets. The dish is called 'brændende kærlighed', which translates literally to "burning love".

Another popular way we eat them in the US is "loaded" with: fried bacon, green onion , sour cream, and shredded cheddar.

Yep, correct. Well, it's not tomato soup but in Belgium, we make meatballs in tomato sauce with mashed potatoes and it's super delicious. It's not the same as tomato soup but rather like spaghetti sauce with meatballs like Link sugested.

I was thinking about this, too. I'm not sure if it's a Polish thing or more just a Polish-American thing, but lots of people of Polish descent here in the US make stuffed cabbage with a tomato or tomato soup sauce, and it is often served with mashed potatoes. It is delicious!
Greek here and that used to be my favourite food for a good chunk of my childhood! Homemade meatballs in tomato sauce, and mashed potatoes...my mom would make a dip in the mash and pour some sauce there, then I would mix it all in. Delicious!
I think what we've learned here is that potatoes can go with basically everything and be at least "not bad, pretty good"

In my home state of Iowa, we already put ranch powder in our potato dishes! It’s like a regional thing. We also have ranch fries (just fries tossed in ranch powder) and put ranch on pizza (I don’t but many people do).
