- Watch in HD how Transmission Line Foundation are Constructed
Mostly we only recognize pylons and cables when we see a transmission line. This video contains details how the base for the massive structure is constructed.
Foundations of any structure plays on important role in safety and satisfactory performance of the structure as it transmits the loads from structure to earth. The towers legs are usually set in concrete which generally provides good protection to the steel. Without having a sound and safe foundation, structure cannot perform the functions for which it has been designed. Therefore, the importance of foundation needs not to be over emphasized.
The sizes of transmission line tower are increasing because of the present day high, extra high and ultra-high voltage transmission, resulting in heavier loads and as such requiring bigger and heavier foundations. Past records show that failures of tower foundations results in collapse of towers. These failures have usually been associated with certain deficiencies either in the design which or construction of foundation. From engineering point of view, task of design and selection of most suitable type of tower foundation is challenging because of the variety of soil conditions encountered in the transmission line and remoteness of construction sites. The foundations in various types of soil have to be designed to suit the soil conditions of particular type.

thankyou.so far helpful
Hi Pritam, Could u please help in knowing how the foundation forces are calculated for Transmission Line Towers ?
This is more useful than any power system book.
A lot of hard work. Thanks for sharing.
Keep making these sorts of videos they're really useful
PARABÉNS ÓTIMO TRABALHO. 🇧🇷
Thank you!
Wonderful Work
Good job Pritam..
thank you for this very nice video
very useful and practical for me who is an english translator in the transmission line project.
excellent, very strong
Thanks you !!
Excellent
Useful video
Bhut badhiya 👌
Thank you
Thank you sir
Is it advisable to discharge concrete from that height ? Why not use chutes? Pouring concrete and placing concrete are two different things .
谢谢
Nice video. keep up the good work
Great
awesome
Trial mix design it is good for make the quality of the foundation transmission
Yes design mix helps you to control the quality as per standards....
Subscribed.
Thank you
Please make videos on pit marking in details
good
Good

Is concrete allowed to free fall from that height? Really surprising to me how engineer-in-charge accepted this. Easy but not right i think.
@M Daud 10:38 That looks like 8+ feet free fall to me, assuming the guy standing is at least 5 and half feet. I am a structural engineer and personally I wouldnt allow this in my projects under my supervision. I generally allow only 3 to 5 feet.
What would happen? Is there anything wrong if it is poured from that height? Just curious.
@@Palaniappan.7837 Segregation is the problem. The heavier gravel particles will separate from the slurry during free fall. You can read about it in any concrete related books.
@@narayananjayachandran831 I see, thank you for taking your time to explain.
@@Palaniappan.7837 Welcome
CONCRETE FREEFALL
Hello sir can i ask for a copy on your foundation plan?
This is a copyright content
Prob setting ataa hein bhai @pritam singha roy
Cover block missing under reinforcement after that backfill curring? 😜😜😜
Development length too short.
Hi
What about earthing?
Depending on the soil resistivity, there are two types of earthing generally used in transmission line
1. Pipe Type Earthing
2. Counter-poise Earthing
why the fuck did I watch a robot tell me about stuff I dont care about? All i learned is that they have no harness for being elevated 10+feet in the air. No way they are surviving a fall from those heights!
Thank you
