do you have Brakes ? or does not giving throttle automatically lock the driving wheels? my 50/50 keeps rolling when iam not on throttle thats why i ask ... very sick guys
+Llama Sheperd a bit late, I know, but I couldn't resist. The "works" doesn't matter. What matters is the driver. The chassis is a mere object to preform on, not what creates performance. For example, one of my mates has a makeshift drift circuit in his garage, and I was eager to use it. He had recently got into the hobby, and blew quite a bit on a fancy TRF chassis. I had forgot my chassis at home, so he let me use one of his "trainer" (read: bought because was on sale) chassis: and unfinished base TT01. After a few minutes if putting the rear suspension together, me and him decided to have a contest. His Castle powered, hi-spec car, against the silvercan Touring Trainer 01. He had so much confidence in his 700 dollar setup he decided to give me a head start. Should've let him win, looking back on it now...

It's about your line, angle, smoothness, and, in tandems, how well you chase/lead (the only part where speed comes into play) For example, I used my my old heavily modded Eagle Racing TT02 FRD (custom weight-shift battery mount, MST adjusters, wrap up next knuckles, TRF Dampers (MST super soft springs on the rear, with a hobbywing xerun brushless 8.5turn motor and esc combo, and other mods which I may have forgotten) which cost well over $1000, in a tournament. I ended up against my friend and his bone stock Tamiya TT01E. His car just left me in the dust when he was the lead car, but I still won the round. I ended up placing 2nd in the entire tournament (note that my car was also slow by RWD standards). So basically, while your friend's car may have been slower, he must've went around the track better than you.
+Ethan Jorge I had no clue people still looked this far down into the comments anymore. He could barely pull a tandem, and when it looked promising, he spun out. It was a terrible cycle of going painfully slow, gain confidence and speed, spinning out, and going back to painfully slow. It was kinda sad to watch.
It's good to see that people still drift on real pavement. Thank god.
