  • Peter Magana Kenyatta's story is a captivating tale of a man born into a prominent family, forever intertwined with the history of Kenya.
As the third child of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, the revered founding father, Peter inherited a rich heritage.
Born in a hospital in West Sussex, United Kingdom, on August 11, 1943, his early years were marked by a tragic separation from his father, who returned to Kenya after World War II.
Raised by his resilient mother, Edna Grace Clarke, Peter's journey took him from the UK to Kenya and back, visiting his father on several occasions.
Despite growing up without regular contact with Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, Peter maintained a connection through letters and cherished memories.
As an adult, he carved his own path, pursuing a successful career as a presenter and producer at BBC London.
Despite his father's repeated offers to enter Kenyan politics, Peter chose to remain dedicated to his work in the UK.
Throughout his life, Peter experienced joys and sorrows, building a family of his own and becoming a proud father to three daughters and numerous grandchildren.
Though his children frequently visit Kenya, Peter himself has not returned since his father's memorial in 1979.
With a blend of deep historical roots and a private disposition, Peter Magana Kenyatta's story is one of strength, resilience, and the unwavering pursuit of his own aspirations amidst a legacy of national importance.

"Peter M. Kenyatta worked very short in Kenya, probably as an attachment at his fathers hotel at the coast! Iwas a trainee and used to serve the 10 o´clock tea, he was very polite, desciplined and none of us knew he was Jomo´s son! I still have the picture /memory when Mzee came down to the coast aprill/ august, came to his hotel and drove with him in his limousine!! He was dressed in tennis uniform. It was about 3.30pm! Its close to 50 years here, Cheerus!!

@sulei123. I know! I admit it felt almost personal when I came across this info. It eroded off the glow I nursed toward Mandiba. He had a special place in my heart.

The composer did a good job but left out the other two wives Jomo married later including Mbiyu's daughter who died while in labour, then Ngina who according to me was the reason why Mzee kept the other women at arms length including Wahu.

Don’t believe your assertion that the last time the family was in Kenya was during the Mzee Kenyatta funeral . His children attended late Margaret Kenyatta funeral ceremony service at the Minor Family Basilical .

Even during Uhuru Kenyatta swearing in 2013 and 2017 and all jomo Kenyatta memorial, you get your information from standard newspaper or nairobian newspaper which was inaccurate. Man it's hard to get information from Kenyattas they are very private.

@@binanya001it's hard to get information from Kenyattas they are very private. You don't knows them you relied on Nairobian newspaper from 2017 or before which was inaccurate at the time. Kenyatta's are talked about by Kenyans but few people knows them including those in government currently no wonder they are obsessed with Uhuru they want to know him personally but he is private, how do you know his brother, sisters , mother or children? Have you ever see them talk to the media about their lives? Why they lived? Education? Their business? Their love life? If you get show me I know you are legit. If you want to know uhuru look for his family if not you don't know him. He wants people to know him politically not personally, no wonder he never invite people to his house,or Margret Kenyatta is Soo private and never talked about before becoming First lady.
