    As a fellow Veteran, Thank you for your service. I will ask this question and keep it short..
    Why have we not questioned government authority that is under
    " Civilian" jurisdiction? From ancient history to our greatest generation.
    They got to keep their military rifle and sidearm issued after returning home.
    In my opinion all Active Duty, reserves, National Guard ( that have a state and federal commitment) and Veterans, all should fall under " Military " jurisdiction.
    A police officer after retirement keeps his badge and ability to carry their weapon ( as I understand even to other states) he is part of Civilian authority like the FBI, NFA, Secret Service, federal Police , etc.
    That is why National Guard troops were sent to Washington because Federal troops don't have the authority inside our borders to take actions against US Civilian citizens.
    Those that swore an oath as a Federal soldier was inducted under " Military " Authority. .
    We should have no restrictions or added taxes for suppressors, short barreled riffles, any magazine clip restrictions , fully automatic side arms or Rifles because we are "Military "
    Who gave permission to Civilian authority services of our government the right to control " Military " we can't interfere in Civilian matters.
    We have had Active duty soldiers during the past few decades that were Stationed outside of the USA during a tine of declared war. Some of those soldiers returning home could not bring certain types of weapons home that were purchased legally but the ATF had a list of manufacturers that made weapons before a certain date were not allowed to brought home.
    The ATF is a Civilian authority, we were at declared war. In fact during declared war, all US soldiers Veterans and national Guard should have been able to Carry their rifle or sidearm nationwide without impediment because we were at war.
    Only National Guard would have authority to do any enforcement with Civilian law enforcement is called upon.
    Now, since Military is under a different authority, automatic weapons , suppressors, etc should not be used inside America for self defense.
    Only to shoot and train until called upon for use against enemy invasion.
    That is what the meaning minute man came from.
    To act in a moments notice, not sit around wait for a government controlled Amory to issue and take back.
    Civilians and Civilian Authorities should be on equal levels.
    If the ATF and FBI can have automatic weapons and suppressors.. so should citizens.
    Military shouldn't have been any question, we don't fall under their authority and control and the ATF overstepped their authority over a different department of the government.
    We all should have been issued a side arm and a rifle once we joined and it should remain in our possession as remuneration for our service from the American taxpayers.
    Remember all weapons already belong to Americans, the government holds them in trust on behalf of the American Taxpayers to be distributed to US soldiers. Not stored away to deteriorate due to lack of maintenance.
    All soldiers should have their arms.
    Government should only be stockpiling ammunition and support items.
    It's easier to distribute ammunition rather than weapons.
    Thanks .William.

    CLASS VI stores on military bases is another example of exemption of taxation. This is a separation of powers.
    States should have never tried to regulate a minimum drinking age for Military personnel.

    I saw a video about a guy with a glock pistol not sure the caliber but he was saying it was legal to get it made to be fully automatic, I didn't know there was a way to legal make any gun fully automatic, I know this has nothing to do with rifles but I was also wondering if this is true about the handguns would it also pertain to a rifle namely AR,s and AK,s? Just wondering.

    Veterans, Active Duty , Reservist, National Guard should all have the ability to carry their military issued weapons, suppressors, magazines, automatics anywhere in America without restriction and be able to buy those items without Civilian Authority Approval from the ATF which is activating outside of their jurisdiction along with state Civilian Authorities to regulate " DOD Military " affairs.

    Military Authority and Powers ,are separate from Civilian authority and powers concerning Firearms and always has been. Surplus and obsolete inventory has to eventually be cleared out to bring in new advanced equipment. The military equipment belongs to the military complex, if they release that equipment to US Civilian authorities, they set the rules for Civilian use including government Civilians. However, military members and veterans should still be outside of their scope of responsibility to regulate distribution and access.
    As of 2021, there are an estimated 18 million military veterans in the United States, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This figure includes both the active and reserve components of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard, as well as former members of the National Guard. The veteran population is diverse and includes individuals who have served in conflicts such as World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, and the recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
    It's important to note that this number is subject to change as new veterans join the population and as older veterans pass away. The U.S. military is constantly evolving, and the number of veterans in the country will continue to change over time.
    It's also worth mentioning that veterans play a vital role in communities across the nation, contributing their skills and experiences to various aspects of society, from leadership and teamwork to specialized knowledge in fields such as healthcare, engineering, and technology. Their service and sacrifice have a lasting impact on the nation, and it's important to recognize and support their contributions.

    Somebody educate me. Why and when did they start calling rifles long guns? I'm 51 years old that's not too old But I don't recall hearing this term until maybe the mid 2000s. Since a rifle is at least everything 16 inches and above why did we have this term long gone come into Big? Just curious because I think it's quite unnecessary.

    • @mikesorg6746
      @mikesorg6746 Před 3 měsíci +4

      Long gun covers everything not a pistol. I mean your logic of every thing 16 inches and above means every shotgun is a rifle.

    • @ericdulyon4601
      @ericdulyon4601 Před 3 měsíci

      @@mikesorg6746 okay so by long guns they mean shotgun also. Okay makes sense never thought of that though. I think these terms are just stupid just call the gun what it is. LOL

    • @producedrabbit1
      @producedrabbit1 Před 3 měsíci +2

      I agree it’s unnecessary to call rifles and shotguns “long guns”, however I think we should go back to calling shotguns “scatterguns” 😊

    • @b.schmidt3701
      @b.schmidt3701 Před 3 měsíci +2

      It's probably just an ATF definition for the rulebooks. It's kind of the same thing as ATF making a distinction between a pistol and a revolver...when they are both technically "handguns."
