Why is Literacy so Important?

To mark International Literacy Day, Mathematica staff talk about why literacy is so important and share their experiences from working on reading and literacy projects around the world.
Through our Center for International Policy Research and Evaluation (CIPRE), Mathematica researchers are evaluating several projects designed to improve access to quality schooling in the developing world. We are learning about the most effective ways to do so and collaborating with international partners around the globe to support this vital effort.
