I have been watching for a while and I honestly didn’t appreciate his reaction but I’m also happy that he didn’t fake a reaction. You’re a lovely couple and I hope you take things slowly, don’t fall too head over heels for someone that cannot appreciate your culture. Americans tend to think that America is the blueprint and any other culture is an anomaly 😅 I’m Jamaican and I’ve worked alongside many Americans who have never failed to highlight their entitlement and show their disdain/discomfort of other people’s culture except Europe of course. One might say that an 8 minute video isn’t enough to make comments on someone’s relationship but I think it’s enough to form an opinion/assumption or even point out obvious red flags.

During your adventures in Kenya he was trying so much to compare Kenya and America which is something that is impossible. America is a world class nation it can't be compared to a developing country. It’s nice to see both of you being honest. I watched the gift video and Tyler actually liked some of the gifts. But I think it’s a lesson learnt for both Betty and Tyler. Having worked with Americans, they can be dry in their humor which comes off as disrespectful. However , that also doesn’t mean they didn’t appreciate the effort someone gives. And some people appreciate experiences with someone rather than a physical gift. For Tyler, I think the lesson is to learn that people in Kenya pay so much attention and love towards gifting. And Betty, learn to educate each other on your culture and ways and what each feels as being appreciated most. We all learn as we grow.

I knew Tyler didn't like being on videos. He just does it for Betty, and he goes along with the ride, or he goes along with it. Betty is more extovert and outgoing and excited and energetic, and she wants to show us her world. Betty is also excited that she is dating an American white boyfriend, and she wants to show us that part of the world on being in an interracial relationship. I love Betty and Tyler videos. They are exciting to watch. This video now makes a lot of sense, and now that I have seen both paries explain their sides of stories, I do agree with Tyler. That day, Tlyer was tired/exhausted from work after a long day, and he just wanted to rest and relax and not have cameras on his face. Betty could have been more respectful and considerate and shot the video the next day when Tyler had well rested and with a fresh mind and a good mood and energetic. Like, I said Betty is excited and all of that stuff, and she immediately forced Tyler to be on the opening gifts video 🎁 . I aldo agree with Tyler about wearing the African atire to the American wedding and stealing the show from the bride and groom, and all attention will be drawn to Betty and Tyler about wedding guests giving compliments on the African attire and making the bride and groom jealous and feeling left out on their day, where they have worked effortlessly and worked hard putting together their wedding. If it was a cultural wedding like an African, Indian, Pakistani, Arabian, Middle Eastern wedding, then it could have been appropriate for the African attire because those cultures dress up culturally. But this was an American white wedding where you could have just dressed in a nice appropriate wedding attire. Betty, you just need to be respecful and considerate around Tyler, now that you have known him since daring him. You need to his personalities, his likes and don'ts, and his dos and don'ts. Again, I love Betty and Tyler's Adventure videos. However, they both have two different personalities. Betty, if you need this relationship to last, then be more respectful and considerate around Tyler and slow your roll down, aka keep calm and cool, aka to slow down, relax, or calm down.

I love that Tyler has seen both sides of Kenya 🇰🇪 the rich, the Middle class, and the poor, and that he easily adapted to all. So let me leave my thoughts here I am married to an American(hispanic) I am from Kenya we have been doing long distance for 3 yrs now as I wait for my spousal visa then we close the distance.
That aside my husband and I gifting is not our love language but it’s like a rule of thumb that you must gift each other on special occasions like bday, anniversaries etc so I remember when we started dating, I would buy my husband gifts that he didn’t like, he would equally buy me gifts that I didn’t like and so eventually this would end up hurting each of us. So we sat down and agreed that since gifting is not our love language to be sure atleast the other person would love what you get them, we started being intentional about asking the other person what they need or want. So like if my husbands bday is coming up I would ask him so babe your bday is coming up what do you need or want and he would give 3 options and I choose one or buy two or even the 3. Same to him say our anniversary is coming up he would ask and I give 3 or more things I need or want. From that moment we do enjoy our gifts from each other and it has been working.
If your partner’s love language is X and yours is Y and you do Y for your partner because it’s what speaks love to you, then you have really not spoken love to your partner because X is the language they understand.
