What brand is your tempered glass? As I am like the thousands of otterbox defender + otterbox alpha glass screen protector people that have been left in the lerch by otterbox with very poor screen sensitivity. Shame on you otterbox
The "Defender" is now "Screenless" for S8 and S9. You can use any glass screen protector and it should work fine because the bezel next to the edges is a separate piece and presses down on the edges to install.
