Dude, this concert is 59 minutes of straight up beauty and emotion. You should do yourself a solid and treat yourself to the entire show. You'll never be the same!
It was a Christmas concert at that beautiful medieval cathedral. Find the whole concert video to see the short interview with her before it started. I also read that this cathedral is NOT used as a concert venue. It is a statement of the respect Norway has for Aurora that this special sold-out concert was able to happen. The song "Winter Bird" at this concert is special to me because, as the organ started up, Aurora went into the most beautiful space as she experienced the notes surrounding her. What must it have been like for her to hear her music, perhaps for the first time, rendered with orchestra, chorus, pipe organ, and incredible acoustics?!
What you missed was before the song she do something only she can do well. Tell a story and forget the punschline. She is one of the most purest, quirky humble person alive 😊.
That was a very cute and funny moment. She is a joy to watch and this concert was one of the best I've ever seen.
The most beatiful concert ever without a doubt
Aurora is probably the most mesmerizing musical artist currently performing. Whether it is the Nobel Peace Prize concert, Nidarosdomen, HAIK in the forest , her television performances or her own gigs, her unique aura and vision makes it impossible to take your eyes off her.
Lucky its one of my favorite songs from this concerts, the others that stand out are 'It happened Quiet' 'Through the eyes of a child' and 'Life on Mars' - at least to me. This is a cathedral in Norway, built in the Middle Ages, and where the royal jewels are stored and where coronations take place. I struggle between calling this concert or the Haik concert her most beautiful concert, because she truly looks at home in the forest for the Haik concert.
Finally .... 😉. How wonderful. My soul healer and her best performance .... Yes my favorite since I started listening and watching music almost 50 years ago. There are those artists who have fantastic voices. Aurora has it all.

This whole concert is breathtaking. My favorite is still "Through the eyes of a child" from this concert, but every song is just wonderful. The acoustics in this cathedral are amazing, and this song is beautiful.

@@shireeni8665 Yep, and today I saw a reactor call her crazy and say she acts like a hippy burnout in her interviews. I had to stop myself from going off on them, but Aurora doesn't need me to defend her. She is wonderful in every way.
@@justjulie37 I would have been inclined to challenge them.... Aurora makes my life a happy place so I shall not waste my energy on someone who cannot see how unique and charming Aurora is. I think she probably glows and flits around the forests of Norway at night.....she is utterly divine. 😇

@@shireeni8665 That's why I didn't say anything. I won't waste any time on people like that. I just don't like the word crazy. Weird is fine, because weird is wonderful, but crazy to me is a crappy word. As for the Hippy burnout thing, I had no problem with hippy, because I agree she kind of is and I love that about her, but the burnout thing pissed me off. She is not a burnout. I have no time for those that cannot see how special she is.
Man this whole concert absolutely floored me and turned me into an emotional wreck. She really knows how to grab you by your heart and take you on a rollercoaster ride. Beautiful.
This cathedral is in Norway and I believe it was a Christmas performance in 2017. I would have given anything to be there. Can you imagine hearing that live? I hope you do more performances from this concert. I already gave you my favorite one, but also, "Soft universe", "Winter Bird" and "Little boy in the grass" are ones you could check out. I would love for you to react to "Through the eyes of a child" though. You will see what I mean. It is just such a beautiful performance.
NOBODY can explain or put into words what she does and what you feel when you listen to her. That's why virtually every reactor l've heard ascribes to her some form of magical and/or dpiritual being. It's the only thing that fits.
Those old cathedrals were designed with a cross for a floor plan. She is singing in the middle of the cross, surrounded by the band, orchestra, choir and those in attendance to listen to her sing.
I know we are lucky that she is alive!

That was an exact copy of my own reaction. Love that you feel the same. A lot of people don't get the calm music and the message they are able to send when the singer totally sinks into it. The is exeptional and outstanding and I literally only listen to live music from her.
This concert is phenomenal! My favorites were: It happened quiet, under stars, walking in the air, but I mean the whole thing is just stunning! One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen! I just love her :) I'm convinced she is an elevated being that incarnated here through a higher dimension/plane. She manages to sound childlike with the wisdom of a druid or something. She blows my mind, lol.

Yep, this and "From the eyes of a child" from this concert do it to me every single time. This concert is the greatest catharsis for depression and anxiety.

To be there before Christmas for Bach´s "Christmas Oriatorio", or at Easter for Handels "Messias", can make anyone religious. The sound of a world class choir and the organ in this cathredal is magic -and so was Auroras concert

Unfortunately, I wasn't there (not living in Norway), however, I have been at Nidarosdomen, an impressive and beautiful cathedral (largest mediäval cathedral in the northern hemisphere).
That cathedral was 500 years old - when Columbus "discovered" America.. ;-)

Actually, just outside this cathedral it is a statue of Leiv Eriksson who discoverd America approximately year 1000. 70 year before the building of Nidarosdomen. All in the Viking era.

Each time I just tear up, contemplating the depths behind the lyrics, her emotions and how she freely shares them with her audience. Besides that the location and orchestration emphasize the power of her music in such an overwhelming way.... this whole concert is one of a kind. How she weighs her words: 'War inside my mind, behind my eyes' have a wonderful sound, 10 times better than when it would have been 'War inside my head....' We are truly spoiled to be be to witness this. ♥️
I personally know people, that I introduced Aurora to and they didn't like it, they didn't feel it. I won't judge them for it but I feel sad for them.

The first draft of this song she wrote 9yo, but she felt it was to bloody and changed it up a bit a couple of years later. Its a beautiful way to talk about depression and the way out of it.. 🤗🙂
With you about the eyes! For sure! Nidaros Cathedral is a cathedral of the Church of Norway located in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county. It is built over the burial site of King Olav II (dec. ~1030 AD) , who became the patron saint of Norway, and is the traditional location for the consecration of new kings of Norway.

Aurora describes this as coming from a dark place. I think of it as overcoming thoughts of suicide. "and I feel the light for the very first time". The church wanted her to do this concert but they wanted to control what songs she would sing. She refused and the church agreed and this magnificent concert was the result.
Yes, the concert has 12 songs, only 3 are covers, the rest she wrote. It is one of the best concerts ever! You must watch the entire concert!

This is from an absolutely amazing concert at Nidarosdomen as already mentioned in the comments. She is able to deliver this masterpiece in a church. She is able to amaze people at a concert deep inside a forest (HAIK). She is able to rock the crowd at festivals like Lollapalooza Chicago or Glastonbury. Or she can shine at intimate concerts with only 3 people in the audience (again HAIK). She is one of a kind.

I tried to get tickets for this but they sold out instantly. I went and saw her a few weeks later in Oslo instead.
From this concert I'd recommend watching her slightly changed version of Murder Song. It has a closing refrain that I've only seen performed here, and it really adds to the context of the track.

but after seeing and feeling her music and songs plus after seeing aloth of emotional reactions from others incl myself , aurora is able to reach The box of Pandora' her voice is the key to open it.. and al the deep hidden emotions with our experions, our mistakes, secrets, but also wishes we long for ar coming out while she sings,. My first concert footage of Aurora was “live at KEXP”. Totally different Aurora from what we got at this gig. Give that a go. She is absolutely captivating here.
