Love the fact that even though it was rotting, they did keep Magnum’s digs. 👍
Hard to keep up any place in the tropics once it starts to rot. The moisture gets in everywhere.
Except the gate house, all buildings have been torn down in 2018... garden lay-out and tennis court remain as in summer 2018
Unless the current owner did something to them after 2018, both the gate house and the boat house (which was the "guest house" that Magnum lived in) were spared and are still standing along with the tennis courts. I'm sure a lot of Magnum fans are wondering what the current owner plans to do with the space where the main house was situated? It would have been really cool if the producers of the Magnum re-boot could have made a deal to use the original "Robin's Nest" as the the location for their show. The main house hadn't been lived in for several years.
Just saw an article that said that the current owner obtained permits to build three houses on the property. It seems that it is going to be sub-divided into two separate parcels, one with two houses and the other with one house. I assume that the one-house property will be where the gate house still stands? I can't imagine trying to salvage the boat house as it's pretty run down and almost falling apart, at this point in time? No one will be able to do this with the Magnum PI re-boot as the house in the new series doesn't actually exist in real life. It's a CGI digital image that's super-imposed on the property of some park on the island.
This is awesome! Sucks that it’s all been torn down, though-couldn’t believe it...there’s a clip or two here on CZcams of the demolition when it was in progress.
Makes me sad that it was left to allow the salt destroy it. Mrs Anderson could no longer care for it and it was beyond care/repair, so it was torn down for the property and was sold. Was such great memories ❤🙏
I'd watch out for the lads
Higgins is a fine intellectual, a cultured, aristocratic and posh storyteller, not a kind of lara croft. Do not forget that in the orignial show it is suspected that higgins is the real ghostwriter of Robin Masters.
It really went to rot when higgins passed away after magnum moved on...
very sad these buildings were torn down in 2018
A piece in the English Sunday times this weekend - saying Prez Obana has bought Magnums House - thats now a shame - all us Magnum fans will not be able to see this landmark house any more?
Just put into google map search engine :- Pahonu house Honalulu - and nothing came up ? Saying search not found ?
That was on my bucket list - now I will just have to look at pictures thanks Obana !
Steve Birks Obama is wonderful at complete destroying things! Look at what he has done to this country, and I am not a democrat or a republican. But an investor should have bought this place, fixed it up and turned it into a tourist attraction or a bed and breakfast. Or a cultural center. What a shame! If Obama wanted a place, why didn’t he buy a place away from this neighborhood? He will turn this place into a nightmare for his neighbors.
@@butchpolston6730 The Magnum PI property was rumored to be purchased by Obama but that is not true. It was purchased by a friend of Obama's so incorrect rumors started. The estate was all plowed down and now it looks like a nice park area and beautiful beach front for the public to use.
Seeing the decay and neglect is ....
Would’ve loved to have seen it before the demolition
It’s a shame the original estate was demolished.. even if it was rotting it’s still such a historical place.. should have been left alone or restored.
Beautiful
How in the world did you get access to that private property?
Only the water and sand look the way they did when the show was filmed.

J Ray Cunha - I'm intrigued by your comments. always wanted to live in HI. I was lucky enough to visit and see the estate from the road while they were filming an episode of magnum. it was in '87 near the end of the shows run.
anyway, I wanted to ask you if you dont mind, what do you do there for work? and can you get a decent place to live while living within your means? any jobs that would supply your housing? anyway thanks for your response if you have time. aloha.
And now it´s gone - forever... :-((
Thanks for the memories.
weisewaf, if I had known it was going to be demolished I would have hopped the fence for a peek too! At least the tidal pool will remain.

@@johnsoule2417 And not only for a peek, but also make professional photo's and video, because i'm sure some media would have paid
good money for that. Well, it's all too late now.
