So I'd replaced the pedals on my Raceface Ride XC cranks and managed to completely strip the threads in the right crank (only the second time riding them), I was tempted to do all this myself and rethread it, but luckily I've managed to find someone selling the exact same crank spider on eBay so I'm just gonna swap it out and hope I don't bugger em up again!
Question: If I am repairing the left pedal instead (vs. the right in the video), does the coil and threading tap tool go in clockwise also? (I understand for the left side, the pedal tightens counter clockwise). Thank you.
How about installing helicoil on Shimano crank arm pinch bolts? I find myseld in a situation now that I've stripped those pinch bolt areas as I kept on removing and reinstalling for a deep clean.

Yo is bike parts cheaper in your country than in philippines?
@@SYNTHETIC1608 so this particular part cost me about £30 second hand on eBay, which converts to just over 2100 PHP for reference!

@@retrobikestuff760haha. I'll give it a go. Cleaned loads as in I've had the cranks for years moving between a few bikes as well.
Pls send me link this item😊
What link did you use to buy this
There on eBay mate union brand I think
size of tap for helicoil?
5/8"-20?
Is the thread inserts size 14m?
9/16 - 20 UNEF. Left thread on left side, right thread on right side.
Is there a size on what thread you need to use on your crank?
That is my question
9/16
9/16 - 20. UNEF
There are quite a few different 9/16 threads. These are relatively uncommon, when compared to the more common 9/16 UNC / UNF sizes.
link please 🙏 my damaged crank is 170mm left side but I do not know the size of the tool you used
9/16 p 20
