- Oh, ok, here’s another one… FOOL IN THE RAIN soundcheck from The Moby Dicks, 6.29.24 at @vampdvegas .
Featuring my buds @chasrox007 @philsoussan @greggfoxkeys @christianbradyhellyeah We haven’t played this in like 10 years, & we don’t rehearse. We show up & run through the new or more difficult songs at soundcheck. This particular day we had to run thru more than normal as the set consisted of each of us picking 3 songs, which led to a pretty unique set list. 🥁👍🏼🎉

Lifelong drummer here. You nailed fool in the rain Brain, nice work!!
Bonhan's magic was the feel... It's what so many drummers are missing when playing a Zep song, and this man's got that.
Bonhams chops were NEXT LEVEL, but chops can be learned/copied... it's all about the feel/groove/swing that goes with the chops.
Well done.
We all need more Brian Tichy playing the drums in our lives!
This generation’s answer to Mr. Bonham. Beautifully played.
This song by Zeppelin is highly underrated and incredibly well written. As I grow older I find many of the later Zeppelin works above and beyond what we hear at first listen. Hot Dog is another Absolute Gem that gets little love yet completely captivates and commands. Thanks All for covering this gen from Zeppelin and so very well. Cheers!
The shuffles and grooves that Bonham put on us were some of the best!😊
Love Brian’s talent on the kit and the guitar.
That was wonderful! First, that shuffle was so authentic. Second, got goose bumps, third, started to cry. You make old men cry. Play on my brothers.
Excellent great Soundcheck Brian Tichy my friend! 👍⭐️🥁⭐️👍.
ハーフタイムシャッフル最高♪😆👍🥁
This is FANTASTIC
Thank you CZcams algorithm
Brian bet JB wld like your tribute to him. You really have his studio drum sound I heard live he tuned like a jazz player wld.any way your the best !
he's got the old JB snare sound nailed
Very nicely done.
Tichy nailing one of the best drum tracks ever
reminds me a little bit of Rosanna by Toto and the Bernard Purdie shuffle.
Love the old school par 64's & trussing - brings back good memories! Outstanding wrist work and feel!
Tichy you’re always a joy to watch. Is that Mr. Soussan on bass? You guys are locked in man . Thanks for sharing this!
Those 2002s are the sound of rock! It was listening to Ian Paice in the 70s that got me hooked. Would love to hear a tuning video from you. Cheers!
Love Brians playin. Very fluid style. Also great with Foreigner and Idol. Didn't know about this project but more greatness. Thanks BT
You nailed both, the drum sound and groove !!! Nice job Brian !
Did you see all those ghost notes!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That is the best copy of the drum track I've ever heard😊
Yea B , awesome!
❤❤❤❤❤❤ THiS !!!
I was gonna just check it out and move on but I couldn’t stop watching. Mr. Bonham would approve.
I Like it to Much 🎶🥁🎶

I haven't but will. Thx
@@davestruthers3384 they are free on Drumeo. I can’t post the link here, but Google will lead the way.
wicked 🙂
One, La, Le, Two, La, Le, Three, La, Le, Four, La, Le! You got to love that 12/8 groove.
It's a half time shuffle....4/4
@@willsgotrythm42 If you were to count it out loud how would you count each note?
@@AlbertMoyerJr it’s kind of deceptive .. most say it’s 12/8, which it pretty much is , but that puts the snare on beat 3 every bar … if it was 24/8, the snare would be on the 2 and 4. You can just call it a 4/4 1/2 time shuffle , but when actually putting a name on each 1/8 note triplet , you’d have to call them something … the 1/8 note triplet after the snare would be “3 trip” if in 12/8, which is fine … but when there is a fill that includes something twice as fast, a 16th note triplet , I’m not sure what to call those off the top of my head .. but I guess 12/8 or 4/4 1/2 x shuffle makes most sense 🥁👍🏼
@@Briantichydrums Thank you for the explanation, Brian. It's interesting that you say 24/8 because I will count 1, la, le, la, la, le, 2, la, le, la, la, le, etc., and that ends up being 24 beats in 4/4. I always felt the triplets were doubled up so to speak. I see why the 4/4 1/2 time now with the shifting snare explanation.
@AlbertMoyerJr I've never been a music reading scientist like some of the guys I know lol, but my short answer was gonna be that I suppose you could count it in 12/8 but it's easier to count it in 4/4...
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Jesus Loves You!
Brian "The Bonzo-Tichy-Saurus" on the drum kit!!
tight
Way to awesome 😎🐂🆒😎🐂😎😎💯
Man those Paiste cymbals sound sooooo good!!!! I assume they are 2002 series? If so, what sizes are the crashes and are they regular crashes or medium or power? Also, are the hi-hats 14” or 15”? Sorry if it’s a hassle for a cymbal run down but I just love how they sound!
@@gtdrummer6429 thx! 15” sound edge 2002- my 18” is cracks so I have two 19” crashes… 1 is 2002 med light , one is signature (forget which kind ) and a 20” signature medium and 24” 2002 ride ..🥁👍🏼
Yes , Paistes rule !
@@Briantichydrums thanks for the rundown Brian!
It's criminal Zep didn't play this at the 02 show
criminal? woke eh?
@@PaulyV56
A simple thumbs down will do creampuff. Zep should have represented every album at that show.
Slightly behind……..there’s the rub bub😊
You need to do a zep tour show jason how to play like his dad i know you studied John B dont get me wrong jason good but not his dad any way keep up the good woork as always peace out Cincy
@@dallaswright9249 I just enjoy playing Zep tunes and they’re my fave band w my fave drummer … and my buds in the band also love Zep. Jason is a friend and does a great job. I also really enjoy his drumming on his first Bonham lp. The drum playing on “Wait For You” is great!
I just got some Shure drum mics , need to get some cords any suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks Brian
@@danielprice5416 yes, make sure they all work! Haha… I don’t know , I don’t have anything special as far as mics and cables … but basically the more expensive stuff is usually better and lasts longer .. and a lot of it is in the quality of preamps .. but the main thing is the instrument tuning and how it’s played …🥁👍🏼
@@Briantichydrums
Thanks my Brother
Rock the Nation 🎸🥁🎶
@@Briantichydrums Beautiful work as always!! Always appreciated your playing!! How was it working with RandyJackson and the China rain project? Thanks!!
@@g-man-uz3gx thx! Ha.. that’s an interesting project to bring up compared to other stuff I’ve done being that it is fairly unknown and like 30 years ago ! It was my first time post music college in a recording studio for a signed artist.. I was 21 and did a solid job , even tho the producer was a dick and treated me like a punk just because I was new and young..
but these were the days of two inch tape so there may have been some punching in but most of fhat is filmmakers played to a click 🥁👍🏼
Is that last in lines bass player looks like him
@@mikep1489 yes it is … one very handsome lad!
... just fooling with all the wrong blondes
That was purdie
Its weird to me why a drummer would copy another drummers, style, drum sound, drum setup and cymbal setup. What's the point.
@@kieranbrain3733 some things are simply fun.. this is a Zep trib band so I’m prob not gonna show up with a double bass / semi circle of concert toms kit … 🤪. We all love Zep and love playing the tunes. I love playing this type of kit too. I play completely different kits for other bands I’ve been in for 35 years as a pro, and in those bands, I play what’s appropriate. But Bonham is my biggest influence. Nothing wrong with rocking a club in vegas w your buds cranking 3 hours of Zep. But if it’s weird to some , I get it cuz some things I see others do are weird to me 👍🏼🥁
Amazing feel.
