I like stand your ground instead of duty to retreat. MN needs to get with the program
If it is life or death I will choose living every time - if that means run away I will run away and if it means pull I will pull..
*breaks into someone’s home*
“My bad it was an honest mistake lol”
Homeowner: “no worries man lmao”
Homicide statistics fail to show how many lives were saved when that one criminal got unlucky.
What pure propaganda is this. These types of opinions pieces make me wanna buy more firearms
So...let the intruder into the door before shooting them.....lol.
My wife's cousin goes the politically correct route...he has a sign in the window next to his front door.."This house is protected 5 nights a week by a 12 gauge semi-auto shotgun...YOU guess which 5"....
Someone kicked their own door after I was trying to report them for something in our apartment complex, I walked up to their door to get their door number and was about to leave… they began kicking their own door and they yell that I’m kicking their door in and that they were so startled at how the door was being kicked that they “armed themselves with a knife and answered the (dead locked bolted) door” however I never knocked or touched their door. they open the door saying that “you’re kicking my door in!!!!!???” So the neighbors can hear and they had a knife. They knock me down and start cutting my neck by my face, jugular, and wind pipe and laughing like a psycho trying to put the knife in my hand. Little did they know I’m not right handed! They had a camera placed there during the assault and it caught the entire thing. Which was that I never kicked any door! But it was banging from inside. I was able to muster up the right second and strength and knocked them off my with force trying to stand up and run away. She wouldn’t let me leave she was grabbing my legs kicking my temples and the bridge of my nose! Holding me by my hair. She destroyed my 600 dollar phone and shoved dog poop in my mouth. She then told the police I was “kicking her door in and she’s protecting her property” which is a lie! Luckily I watched americas most wanted when I was little with my dad and he told me if someone does something to you, that you fight like hell. And I got away from that criminal minded freak.
When someone threatens you on your porch, handle your biz. Too bad some people don't call the Police with warrants.
Most of the time a criminal wont hesitate to take your life so if you are being confronted by an aggressor you really shouldn't turn your back or retreat because just like an aggressive dog he/she will attack so your best bet is always stand your ground
I'm sorry but you sound like you have zero experience with criminals. They are not after your life they want the valuables you possess. Crimes involving murder statistically have been shown to be personal where the killer and victim know each other. In other words if you end up fearing for your life it's likely someone you know.
@@BLANC0420you have never experienced real danger, have you? Even if you hand your valuables to a criminal who's threatening you, what makes you think they'll leave you alone after? Spoiler alert, they never do. But if they realize that you have a gun and you value your life more than theirs, you have a better chance of survival. But please, appeal to their non existent feelings and see how that works for you
@@Kid_Charlemagne76 You clearly have deluded yourself of this scenario where you have a gun and for this reason alone you are safe. Statistics would otherwise disagree with you. If you have a firearm you are more likely to be involved in a shooting. If someone is robbing you and you have gun the probability of you being shot is high versus not having one. When they have the power you are not a threat hence they don't have a need to shoot you hell they don't wanna shoot you and catch a bigger case.
@@BLANC0420doesn’t matter, if a criminal wants to break the law, then they are playing with their own life
@luaye1764 My statement above isn't my opinion it's based on the numbers where crime is involved. Seriously look it up don't take my word for it.
1:11 “studies have shown it’s LIKELY to increase” meaning it’s all hypothetical 😊. Love living in Florida where it’s stand your ground with no retreat necessary
I'm pro guns, but I bet YOU are the kind of person who can't wait for the day you get to shoot and kill someone
Maybe the states should invest into educating the public through media means. When most hear the "Stand Your Ground Law" they think its, "If someone is threatening me or if I feel threatened, I can kill them right away". They dont think about what it really means. I think these laws are even more important in this day and age but the public needs way more education and perhaps making TV commercials and using social media can help states educate or at least get them to think more about what these laws mean.
In this day and age of mass infinite information at your finger tips, ignorance is a choice. No one, not the state, not the government should have to educate you on the facts of anything. If you didn't or don't know, that's your own damn fault.
@@csyarid I understand your point of view for sure but it still wouldnt hurt and would help for the ones that are to lazy to research. In this day people really think any act of aggerison is an excuse to use your firearm and thats not the case what so ever and the legal battle to clear yourself is tough AF. Thats why I make sure to have insurance as well.
@@csyarid What? Use Facebook and the Internet for a source of facts? LOL
The phrasing @1:32 made it seem like they're calling committing violent crime an honest mistake and if somebody shoots you after THEY'RE a vigilante and at fault bwuahaha what on earth is wrong with people...
This lady can't be serious
Breaking into someone’s home isn’t an honest Mistake it’s intentional. A home owner should have a right to defend life and property on land that’s rightfully theirs. 1:42
This is why gun ownership should require a concealed carry or license that teaches this stuff before you can buy a gun. And there should be a universal license for all 50 states.
In Kansas, you do not have to retreat you can stand right there. You don’t have to retreat.
Good job finding a white man to play the attacker in every clip.
What does this homely woman know about anything? She gave only anecdotal opinions based on her bias.
While I love stand your ground laws, castle doctrine, and constitutional carry there’s a lot of clauses that come with them so with that there should definitely be educational course for them to protect the gun owner/person using force against a perpetrator for their safety from any prosecutions in the future
HAVE YOU SEEN THE HOMELESS PROBLEM!?
And usually a relative reaction,, on a states books or not...when it's tied to that old axiom "When seconds count, the police are only minutes away"....We live in a Castle Doctrine state, and our town is knee deep in legal guns, courtesy of a police chief that's really big on citizen self protection...major crime can't exist here...
It's clear that most of you on here aren't really paying attention to what she is saying. LOL
No one cares about a slight increase, they care about whether or not they can defend themselves without suddenly being called a criminal for preserving their own life FROM a criminal!
what can we expect from ABC News? lol
I came here for info, not spin
Nope. I’m standing my ground in my home. If you break in I’m defending my family first💖
Absolutly not true... Violent crimes towards a person or yourself can not wait for the justice system to apply..
By tge time justice system applies fatality has already had occured..
Its better the to have that last resort to defend one self...
My State of Massachusetts doesn't have a Stand Your Ground Law
The only State in New England that has a Stand Your Ground Law is New Hampshire. The State of Florida has a Stand Your Ground Law too
The States in New England That Impose a Duty to Retreat are Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine and Rhode Island
Indiana is strong on private property there's no stand your ground law but you can prove self defense in court . If the law sees things in your favor you may not go to jail and if you do they'll let you out within 72 hours
Bring it
No one uses revolvers anymore!
Depends on the revolvers capability...Do some research on the Smith and Wesson Governor.
Love these laws😊
I feel my IQ lowering listening to her (probably their plan).
Do not fire unless fired upon
Worst advice ever, this is why I will never live in a state with duty to retreat. Get judged by 12 rather than carried by 6.
When a life threatening event happens theres no time to ponder laws... Stand your ground or "Self defense" is always #1... The law can cup my nuts!
It's disgusting the perecentage of people care more about the rights of the person trying to kill and steal from you then the person defending themself.
I always take my gun to the movie theater in case the movie is too scary so I can shoot the screen.
In fact as I surf the internet I am always strapped so don't spook me with comments or I wil need to buy another monitor.
Lies
Boo hoo.
I don't know about you, but I don't want to shoot anyone. I'll gladly try retreating first. Then self-defense.
Don't think for a sec that someone that wants to cause harm wouldn't be willing to shoot you in the back while retreating, but it's all situational at the end of the day.
@@dr.jekyll2017 you'd have to tell me, I can't answer that, just going off the "try retreating first then self defense" like I said it's all situational.
Laws that give WP who live in fear of the other legal rights to kill at will.
Lmfao, laws that protect god fearing people from criminals, who just so happen to subhuman more often than not.
Stop selling guns at stores that easy anybody that has a gun illegally or legally will be arrested It's
I can see if animals or any sort of life that isnt aware of the conscious decision , but if there are people who fully are aware of what they are doing breaking into a home , car, business, etc that when i pull out a gun to protect myself even if the intruder sees i have a gun and runs away i should still have the right to shoot the intruder when i felt that my life is in danger. There should not be a debate on people who are fully aware of what they are doing and what the consequences are gonna be besides getting arrested. Thats where civilized people who do the right thing day to day dont get a chance to react according because the intruder wants to run away? NO they are fully aware of what they are doing
I just take my gun anywhere I go especially in Florida or Texas, just shoot at anything I feel is a threat when I stand on my ground without the need to even say "Can I help you?" or "What do you want?" Thank Republicans for letting me to do that!
The law requires to reasonably assess the threat. The threat must be imminent.
This is a propaganda against self-defense, the left wants their constituents to be safe when they are out there committng a crime
God thank you for not making me american
It’s a rationalization for shooting the black kid because he rang your doorbell.
We should get rid of Stand your ground laws that’s what killed Trayvon Martin
So you think the rest of us shouldn't be allowed to defend ourselves just because of your feelings about something that happened 10 years ago? Pretty flimsy reasoning. If you dont like stand your ground laws or the 2nd Amendment, move to England
you’re right people should defend themselves and have a right to feel safe. I don’t live in the south or a place where it’s normal to carry guns, so I can’t relate. But, you not caring about Trayvon martin’s isn’t right. He was a child around my age killed because of this law. It’s not just some event that happened 10 years ago. And, I am a kid how am I supposed to move to England😅 oh wait maybe I can do a study abroad there 😂. I was only expressing my opinion on this, and you have a right to yours as well. Just don’t attack others for that’s all am saying. Ok, have a good day and may god bless you, sir
@@debbieagyeman3595 Well how about this reasonable response, how about you move to any of the states that don't have stand your ground, or any country without it, you know a place without the right to defend your own life in public.
@@cachestache2485
I already live in place a where there are no stand your ground laws. But, you’re right that everyone should feel safe where they live. But, aren’t there problems that can arise from stand your ground, ie. mistakenly shooting a person that seemed like a threat in the heat of the moment. That’s just my opinion. Okay have a day or night where ever you are 😊
Sounds like you just don’t want people to have the right to defend themselves
🤡🌎
So what you’re telling me is we should let people come into our homes and do whatever they want until the cops come which can mean minutes away. If I can run I will. If I have to stay and fight I’m fighting with everything I got. She’s only saying this because she probably lives in a gated community where they have security guards with guns.
