    Did any one else notice how loose the chainsaw chain on both chainsaws were? The chains on both were hanging down from the bar.

      @zachlarson7581 Před 8 lety +2

      +Louis Linkous The chain is supposed to be loose, I wouldn't say it's supposed to hang that far down but semi loose is how it has to be, if the chain is tight to it like a lot of people think than that is how the chain will break off, after a certain point the tighter the chain is onto it then the more likely the chain will come off, especially when going into a thicker tree than this one, if the chainsaw was to get stuck and all the movement stops on the chain, if its tight then I will guarantee 99% of the time that chain is gonna come off because you're not meant to have a lot of tension, if you're doing it right you should hardly have to push at all on the chainsaw, it's all about keeping the chain moving

    I bought a 3 HP electric 16 inch Made in the USA McCullagh Chain saw about 25 years or more ago. Very handy for that branch or tree that comes down during a storm around the house. The few times (sometimes years between uses) I use a chain saw I don't have to worry about "will it start". I plug it in 1/2 hour to hour later I'm done.

    The notch was a bit wide...it's safer if the tree separates when the notch closes, avoiding the "barber chair" risks. Also, if you value those legs get chainsaw chaps...they are cheaper than an ER visit.

      @@TomahawkDIY we recently took down 6 trees on our property twice the thickness from this video and 1 that was 70 years old 40 inches wide 50ft tall.. our electric chainsaw performed well on the first 2 then it was cleaned and made it sharp again but it gave out on the 5th tree.... we decided to buy a gas chainsaw from Stihl and couldn't be happier.

  • @beardedandtattooed2372

    Okay don't follow this video, several things this guy did was wrong. One chain is way to loose. Should be able to fit a dime under the chain. Not have it hanging. Your wedge was not at the right angle. This why it didn't fall to the ground. Now if you go and saw in this position it can cause a kick back from the saw or the tree bucking up in your face. You need chaps on too. Hard hat and face shield.
