- Dogs are a senior's best friend. The ones in this video show so much care and compassion when visiting the residents at ACC Care Center. They are from Lend a Heart Animal-Assisted Therapy, and they visit ACC every month. It's pawsitively amazing to see our residents open up. Watch, enjoy, and share this video!
These dogs are absolutely priceless. They brought one in to visit my mother before she passed away and that made her very happy during her last days.
My granpa never let the poochie's come inside the house. When he passed away, my mom moved in with granma and she brought the poochie Prince. My granma fell in love and I remember her looking at my grandpa's picture saying, "I will make sure this one stays inside to help me". And Prince did help her... a lot.
Aww so sweet! ❤
It's so nice to see the elderly folks smile & be happy 😊💕🥰
For decades I kept Border Terriers. Since I got my first over 50 years ago (by chance - a rescue dog) there's been no other kind of dog for me. Tiny, fierce and loyal - every one would have faced down a big cat or a wolf on my account.
I'm retired and increasingly immobile these days, and in no position to keep a dog. Kind of desperate because - especially in the middle of covid lockdown - I miss my dogs right now more than any human.
It's not that I don't love my extended fami!y dearly. But if I still had any one of those non-human but wonderful, loving, supportive and wholly non-judgemental creatures, I couldn't honestly answer for who I'd grab first in the event of a house fire.
There are times in our lives when a dog is our best friend. And there are times when they're our only friends.
Hi Jacky. I just read your post and you sound like an amazing warm person with a lot of love to give.
I have 3 dogs, a 17 yr old Shitz-U cross and two Rescue German Shepherd Dogs, 1 female and a male, both seniors as well. I always joke that I have a retirement home for dogs. You sound like you gave your dogs the best home with lots of love and that they were the most awesome dogs who loved you just as much.
I was wondering if maybe it would be possible to adopt a rescue cat as cats don't need as much care as a dog?
I had to laugh when you said if there was a house fire you're not sure who you would rescue first, the human relatives or your fur babies. I totally understand!
Stay well during Covid, hopefully we will all get vaccinated and be able to get back to a more "normal" soon. Hugs to you from myself, Sebastian, Star and Shiloh (my 3 dogs).!

I may have adopted a cat already. Well - kind of.
Large black and white tomcat (pretty sure it's a tom.) I call him Scaredycat. Started coming through my bedroom window a few months ago (I generally sleep with a window open.)
He's never allowed me to touch him yet, and clearly just wanted to escape inclement weather. He used to bolt if I so much as moved or spoke, but I've awoken several times lately in the early hours to find him asleep at the foot of my bed.
He still won't be approached or touched (and to be honest I do kind of worry about fleas, etc) but has eaten dishes of food I leave out.
But it's all about time I think - and heaven knows I have plenty of that.
If he ever warms to me properly, I think I'll rename him Louis, courtesy of my favourite movie, Casablanca. The beginning, perhaps, of a beautiful friendship.
@@jackywhite880 So good to hear you are making friends with a cat who has chosen you! As you said, in time I am sure you will be able to pet him/her. Although hopefully the kitty could be bathed to ensure they don't have fleas. You sound like the kind of person who would befriend any animal, and I have the feeling you are in the beginnings of a beautiful friendship with your new kitty friend! All the best to you, take care!
It's a win win situation,,brings smile and tender reaction for everyone involve in this moment of joy
Elders with pets are almost as adorable as toddlers with pets
Aww...look at how their eyes just lit up when they saw those dogs!!
Very sweet! Thank you for your work!

Life is wonderful 👏👏🙏
Thats so beautiful that you are helping these ols souls.
wow this is so nice what you guys did to those people. Great job. Keep up the good work!
I wish I could do this with old people for my high school volenteer hours😍
Same here. Sadly covid has made it hard especially for elderly people, but when it goes away I’m gonna volunteer at the old folks home by my house
Do it ! 🙌💝
Do it. Sometimes those senior centers can be lovely places to be. Plus they have such interesting stories and lives. When I went it was really fun.
I worked at a nursing home for a year and a half and the only time those people were happy was when children or dogs came in. This happened a grand total of TWO times in 18 months.
Very special.
wow thanks recommended
I can't believe I saw 11 who unliked this video,, for me, I saw seniors with joy and smiles and volunteers smile too. Precious moment
Dogs favorite place in the world. A nursing home
They now have realistic robotic dogs for elderly people who want the companionship, but are unable to care for a real one.
Robots have no soul.
What a curse to be old. It’s like being trapped.
Yes and I don't understand why does people this agent want to live there's nothing left for them I also don't understand why are the senior citizens up in their 80s and 90s getting the covid19 vaccines first
Maybe Logan's Run had it right, but at seventy, not thirty.
@@dianemitchell4103 You idiot.
@@DavidLS1 Idiot.
Shut up Jonathan.
It is the epitome of cruelty to keep pets away from elderly people who have had them all their lives. Some long-term care facilities and even hospitals in the UK have a resident cat or dog now. It's time that was done everywhere else.
Asian dont let his mum dad leave in that place
