You should do so in order not to lose the ears
To some extent you are right, But bass (15-70HZ) having such a long wavelength (think like a sinewave) it requires a higher DB (well above 160DB) in order to reach the parts that can be damaged. Higher notes (above 100HZ) having a shorter wavelength more easily reach your ear and can in fact do substantial damage at lower volumes. This is why unless they are showing off, you see very few mids and highs in most systems. It's really not needed for the sound to get to you

I just think that loosing the competition of the vehicles takes away from the putting the system IN a vehicle. I love the competitions but i also love the good looking cars that can bang and still be driven.

NICE bro!!! i have also 2 solo x18 in my fiat bravo on 2 hifonics colossus @ 2 ohme in a 560l tune@25hz! but i have the problem that the woofer smells like shit wenn i turn them up! the amps do not clip, i did a 154,98db @ termlap( 15sec) @ 37hz and the woofers are instand smells! i have no idea why no clip, even the batterie voltage is over 12,4v! in a 2-5sec burb i have a 157,56db and a littel bit more. but for normal musik it smells by arround 148-150db. have you the same problem? @ arround 2-2,5kw at a woofers, they beginn to smell secendly! wtf?!?!??!? my windshield is also broken, the 3te time XD
the hifonics colossus @ dyno brings arround 3.5k @ 2 ohme @ 13,8 volts! @ 13,1volts 3.2kw so even @ 12.5v it´s 2.5kw i habe for each collosus one hawker hx 500 and in the front one hx 300! so is a total of 1hx300 and 2 hx 500 thats about 260ah and a burst over A over 9000A for 10sec! i dont know!
