I hate to say it but it's probably because of male desire made it I noticed a pattern that a lot of the weird and ugly and unpractical Designs come from female designers and I think it's because they don't care what looks good on a person they want to show themselves to be more artistic and yes male designers have also done that but it hasn't been the level I've been seeing lately and again a lot of it seems to be coming from female designers like they're more concerned about making art rather than functional clothes instead of finding a way to combine it
They feel like they should be worn by some space nobility, like surrounded it with neon lights and tech and it will go just as well as that old world runway they were going with/
I know fashion is art and for that reason some clothes don't technically have to be wearable, but can we just appreciate designers who make absolutely stunning clothes and don't have their models tripping down the runway ❤

I agree but in defense of some of the fashion houses, the designs are (or were originally) meant to showcase the artistry and craftsmanship of the house and the various workshops under. Haute couture isn’t always meant to be wearable, at least now. They’re often meant to drive attention and therefore business to ready to wear lines and so are more like museum pieces. That said, it didn’t always function that way and I will totally agree that some designers just go for the shock factor for publicity. But the income distribution has changed drastically and you no longer have a core of upper class that buy their season’s wardrobe from shows anymore because they are expected to wear a certain level of design in their public appearances. It’s one off and generally only celebrities wear haute couture. Hence keeping your house in business by going after the upper middle class with ready to wear.

there’s a difference between pret a porter (ready to wear) runways and haute couture (high fashion). haute couture is meant to showcase the artistry, talent, and creativity of a designer- not to be worn casually. most designers do pret a porter as well, try looking that up specifically if that’s what you’d rather see :)

I love when the artists works with mainly the fabric with slight shaping creativity rather than… a balloon or box around the models. You can see the detail and craftsmanship in the fabric alone. Love it.
Every single model flawlessly executed each outfit, that I truly feel they each owned it so well. The way they matched each model up with each outfit is beautiful. ✨
