Sadly, those few seconds of classic hand-drawn animation are possibly the best part of the whole movie.

Leostar The 2D animation was pretty impressive.
Rowan as a villain was so poorly explained that it really bums me out. The concept behind the design was that he made himself so powerful and huge by trapping thousands of damned souls in his "bag" form; so many that you could see them bulging under the fabric. This concept could have made the final battle so interesting, but what they went with was something that just ended up feeling like a Stay Puft rip-off.
It was literally just ivo shandor ripped from the videogame

He could have released ghosts from his fingers!
Meh. Yea he’s pretty for a villain. And his giant form isn’t even interesting. Then again they already used Stay Puft Balloon Man.

As a fan of hand-drawn animation, I appreciate the "Ghostbusters 2016" team for doing this, even if it's for a few shots. 😊
Why the fuck didn't they just make him a big hand drawn monster! That would have made it legitimately funny and hella meta.

I like that the point of his design was to be cartoony and ridiculous yet somewhat threatening. This movie is certainly not the best but at the same time it wasn't the worst. I'd give this movie a 3/5 stars cause it could have been better but the script was quite flawed
But I love it how they did their own twist with it. Practically the same storyline in the first one, but it has its own unique twists and turns and it wasn't afraid to be experimental with Ghost Rowan.

Me and a friend figured it out who animated Rowan as a handdrawn ghost, Uli Meyer, he is listed in the credits.
The 2D animation part is really good.

Rowan in his ghost form is a villan with an high potential. It would be interesting to see him again, later, in Ghostbusters movies like the main or a recurring villan of the franchise

I feel bad for the technicians that worked on this movie whose work is totally forgotten.

As usuall, even when a movie is bad, you have to at least give credits to all the people who worked hard on the special effects. Hell even when the effects end up looking pretty bad, you still know that there nertheless almost certaintly went a lot of work into them.

So they're paying homage to the theme of the destructor taking on a cartoon form. That is way too clever Charlie's Ghostbusters. Seriously, just have a secret agent talking to them on the radio and it's the Ghostbusters version of Charlie's Angels. Bill Murray could even play as Bosley.

this movie wasnt as bad as peoples making it out. i like it. but still feel it didnt been to be made. it should just been Ghostbusters 3 with one or two of the females being the daughters of the og Ghostbusters.
But what are the chances of all the Ghostbusters having kids, that are all girls? Peter's love life is terrible. Egon doesn't seem to interested in having a kid, Ray might want a kid, but hasn't shown too much interest. The only one that would 100% commit to being a father would be Winston.

I watched... really enjoyed it. I think the problem was the marketing, they were building it as a Ghostbusters movie with a female cast which was dumb. Also the trailers were awful. The movie is just a team coming together who happen to be female. They were not trying to be feminist or any bullshit like that. The movie was funny and i enjoyed it a lot. Marketing killed this movie.
