yeah, he brought out Tara's sassiness that she never showed with anyone else! I think it was one of the few moments where she could be the strong one who protected her friends rather than being the one who needed to be protected. I actually liked how she became stronger after the breakfast cause she had to be self-sufficient.

It's hysterical because he has to stay in character even when he's screwed up so he won't lose his serious / brooding face or his accent.
I always believed his accent was real. He really pulled it off

He’s not the worst, but he’s noticeably American. Alexis Denisof is much nearer the mark.
I thought Juliet Landau had a pretty terrific English accent.
As an English person I can tell you that it is pretty bad, as in it isn't believable at any single point in the whole show. It doesn't really matter though. Drusilla's is even worse lmao.
@@Bodanki See, I've heard that his accent sounded off because Spike was Upper Class posh posing as Working Class. Or at least that's the in-universe reason. I do know that Tony Head helped James with the accent.

Spike was sexy, hot, and sarcastic! Simply PERFECT. The only thing I hate about this series is that in the end, Buffy didn't ride off to the sunset with Spike. I mean he was evil but then became a good man...all for her.
He’s such a professional. Just gets right back into it as soon as he flubs the line.

Swearing in TV shows is super weird though. If you've ever seen Lost Girl, there was no swearing in the first 2 seasons but then it changed network and they started saying "shit" a lot as a sort of safe swear word. It always felt so unnatural every time it was said, no matter how appropriate it would be if someone jumped out at you or made you mad in real life.

In season 6 and 7 and when he went to Angel it wasn't too bad. Very obviously put on as a native but not atrocious. The first couple of years he was a character were pretty painful though. He supposedly mimicked Anthony Head as his accent is naturally more Sex Pistols than politician but I don't hear it.
I don't care what accent he has - the guy's voice is gorgeous whatever accent it may be

I’ve drawn the conclusion that they never remember their line but I don’t think I would either so I empathise.
Gawd, he has a massive shiner on his right eye for a lot of these bits, I can't remember what scene might have caused that right now.
In the previous episode, Warren killed Katrina and framed Buffy with some timey-wimey demons. Believing she was at fault, Buffy went to the police station to turn herself in so Spike tried to stop her. He encouraged her to take her guilty feelings out on him and when she punched him he said "that's my girl". Buffy who felt deeply ashamed for sleeping wirh him responded by mulching his face with her fists while crying and screaming "I'll never be your girl".

I knew him first as Spike and he was the reason I started reading the Dresden Files (couldn’t afford the audiobooks back then). Once I was able to listen the audiobooks he’s now as much Harry for me as he is Spike.
I'm working my way through book 3 now. In love with the series now but, Spike is absolutely the reason I started listening.

James is very good at narrating , even though he plays all the carters himself he effortlessly makes them all very individual .

He wasn't a bully. One of the other head writers, David Greenwalt, went on stage at Hellmouthcon and said the accusations against Joss were bogus and he should have defended him sooner. And he was working on Angel more than Joss was in the final two seasons as Joss was working on Firefly, so he would know.

Well like his accent doesnt sound like a good British accent because his character is a 100+ year old vamp who has moved around alot and picks up different accent angel lost his accent mind you
That's actually quite true, i remember hearing spikes accent thinking it reminded me of my uncle whos british and has traveled with navy his whole life.
@@lery2523 well exactly. It isnt just about where you grew up but who is around you and where you are. I have a niece who is American yet she lived in England cause her dad was stationed there. Went to college/university over there so her accent became half American, half English and half Scottish. Cause of all the people she ended up around.
That does happen in real life but if that were true for his character specifically then he would have got less "British" as time went on but instead his accent got slightly less terrible. He would have instead started sounding more like the actor does naturally due to being in America for so long.
