- An old RPG that claims to have consequences and growth? This is no legend, but a Fable! Check out my Fable review where I playthrough and complete Fable Anniversary to see if this remake holds up to the wildly cherished version from years ago.

Gamers everywhere were craving an RPG that had consequences, that grew and affected the world as you progressed. And Fable was the full of hype to answer those questions, and much more wild ideas because Peter Molyneux seemed to say whatever he wanted to be in the game. Regardless, it sold and it made its mark for the time, and then went off to have two successful sequels. So now its time to look at the Fable remake with my Fable Anniversary review.

What's your favorite game that offers consequence of choice?
The Completionist One of them if it counts, is The Suffering. Idk if you've played it, but 2004's horror game The Suffering from Midway games and surreal software is one of my favorite horror action games of all time and the karma system dictates the ending you'll have based on if your good or evil, I doubt you will but you should do a completionist video for The Suffering. Please dude lol.
I LOVED Jade Empire. Favorite Bioware game.
Bioshock probably
Mass effect 2
Haven't played too many like that, Infamous 2 i guess. Maybe Life is Strange
2:02 "And trust me my morals are shaky at best."
[Has flashback to Jirard eating his popcorn wife]
Indeed they are Jirard, indeed they are.
that's what the ending was about
Don't forget how he killed Sonic.
Hero your will energy is low, watch that.
CHECK THE GUILD FOR MORE QUESTS
Your health is low. Use some healing potions or food.
J good memories :D
Easily my favorite loading screen in Fable 2 is the one that says how on the night the guild burned down, someone carved “your health is low” on the guild master’s forehead
When i got the evil ending, i kinda felt bad for the Guildmaster, tho. He was annoying, but the oldman was cool in his own way. Even though him, as a character, was incredibly bland.
Oh, it's the chicken chaser! Hello Chicken Chaser!
Raice sgb?
You don't look like no Chicken Chaser to me. Then'a'gin I ain't never seen one
Chicken chaser? You chase chickens?!
I-I-I-I-I-I It's n-n-n-n-nice to see you sir.
I remember being called that! I also remember being called Arseface.
Feels like you’re comparing it to games of now rather than back then
It could be compared to games like Morrowind. The comparison doesn't seem that flattering either way.
@@miguelcondadoolivar5149 it was a masterpiece
@@miguelcondadoolivar5149 why wouldn'it? I honestly loved both (and they are quite different games) but I don't see how morrowind would be much better than Fable.
Comparing fable to morrowind is like comparing dark souls to Zelda.
They're very different games with very different focuses, and comparing them is utterly pointless.
Yes, definitely. And that is still kinda a compliment, if he can even dare to compare such discrepant realities. Fable was so amazing for its time, the most about it made it an amazing game that carried fans to play the sequent releases, even though the first (with TLC release, also) was still the most remarkable. Back in 2004 being a "gamer" was not a fashion, we were just kids and some of us had the opportunity to play Fable, every now and then, that just felt as the amazing game it was/is.
Fable 1 is the best of all fables
@C F Fable 1*
Agreed
@C F Fable 1*
@C. F. Fable 1*
Fable TLC
The story and setting isn't too bad, but you do actually have to go in-depth and read the books within the setting. Stuff like the Court of Blades, the Rise of Will, The Old Kingdom, etc, are all hidden in the background, and unless you actually dig in, you're not really gonna get much in terms of setting fluff.
If you have to go out of your way for the story to be good then that's not good story telling.
@@chickenking1753 By that metric, every game in the Dark Souls series has an awful story.
If the story presented is uninteresting then there's no motivation to want to find out more, if whats already there is interesting then its fine because there's actual intrest in finding out more, a story shouldn't use notes as a crutch. ya get im sayin?
As for dark souls, honestly without the gameplay and amazing soundtrack to back it up I doubt it would be as popular.
@@chickenking1753 I know this is 5 months late, sorry for slight necro, but the story itself is pretty decent. You figure out a lot just by playing the game, but if you ever ask yourself "who is this dude" then you can actually look up who he is. They could've easily put a character in that would explain everything that happened in the Old Kingdom but at the same time that's bad story telling. Kind of two sides to it, you could argue it's bad story telling when you have to look way deeper, or you can argue that having everything told straight up to you is boring. A lot of people's opinions on stories are pretty different though
How dare he insult this beautiful classic
Agreed.
@Blue Lives Deserve to Die Well, Dragon Quest features cheeky humor as well... You don't fart people in the face, though.

i thought exactly the same
Truly!! I recently finally 100%ed Fable: The Lost Chapters! Got every demon doors very silver key, every legendary weapon, you name it! Played through the main story SEVERAl times since 2004!!!
I LOVE this game. Played it atleast 5 times. Just have to take it for what it is and at the time there wasn't much else like it.
True! I just replayed this game recently, I personally enjoy the trilogy.
I just Hope Fable 4 will be good. (Only a matter of time for next gen)
Really enjoyed the first 2 games. The 3rd was disappointing but pushed through in hoping to find a positive out of it. Alas....nothing much but got a few...achievements out if it soooooo. Yay?
The new Fable game just got announced!
One of my favorite games ever, and it was really really good for the time. I think the gameplay holds up really well today. The atmosphere crafted by the ambience, color palette, and music is legendary. I hope the Series X Fable can compare in atmosphere crafting.
Truly. This game was so special to me as a kid and I still play it through from time to time. It's simple and silly but it definitely knows what it is and the world is enthralling. I can't wait for fable 4.
One does not simply break a Duke controller.
Hell yeah for Fable. This is probably the first game I actually completed because I love it so much. Now I want to play it again!

Just let yourself be in the game, man! Lol
've done EVERYTHING in this game now except the boasts!
While I prefer Fable 2 and Love Fable 1 I still had a great time playing Fable 3 and I really enjoyed doing Fable 3s DLC especially fighting my evil clone. Fable is about the Journey.
I loved the 3 games
@@catvlinv_lc same here, especially the Lost Chapters! have you ever just read all the books and items descriptions in the game? So much lore!
Right!?!? You must take each game for itself, don't play them like they are a piece of clothing that you get to wear a lot but not appreciating any. Fable is not a slut! :D

Fun fact!
The music box theme is originally a side soundtrack found in the original fable!
Apparently the developers found that the fans associated that song with fable the most and decided to make it the main mood setter for fable II
Who’s here after Fable 4 was announced!
Yup I’m so excited
"Jack of blades isnt really q villain. Just a dude who wants a sword and you're going to stop him. cause... why?"
Jack of blades killed your whole family and stole your sister. That's your goal for getting him. The plot twists that come after make sense.
Jirard in your most recent video you state that when a video game company rushes a game that the gamer can tell. Well jirard. It surely felt like you rushed this review.
This is a 2004 game. The extra lore is found by delving into the game. Reading the books. Interacting with the npcs.
Sorry jirard. I usually agree with you. But you're way off on this one. Like Mario sunshine.
To be fair, you killed your sister (depending if you chose to or not).
But he did kill your father...Conceivable huh?
Also no one stole your sister, she was taken to a Bandit Camp by Twin Blade where he raised her...

One thing that I liked is at the end of TLC was seeing my character after beating Jack of Blades as a dragon, this old grizzled 60 something year old man, it really made me appreciate the idea that the hero’s whole life has been dedicated to fighting Jack seeing him slowly go from this scrawny kid to a seasoned adventurer to The lost chapter having him be this grizzled veteran with a full beard and a set of silver hair, by the time it’s over I feel like my hero found a quiet place and retired with my characters wife

Yeah and isn’t that the point of playing games in general is to have fun????
He didnt seem to like the the things that made fable....well fable lol when you try to complete every game you play I feel like you lose any enjoyment you might've had trying to play it for fun
Gotta say, I strongly disagree on this one. I didn't play the original Fable until years after it came out, and I adored it. I think you're looking too much for a serious game in a game that's intended to be goofy.
Patrick Douglas right? I was kinds bummed to hear him bag on the game for everything it wasnt but he obviously didnt enjoy it for everything it is.
Yeah that was a bummer. It had it's flaws but i would rather have that then another skyrim clone (don't get me wrong I like skyrim but for awhile every game tried being skyrim) Fable will always be apart of my top ten xbox rpgs
Nediojon Skyrim is a fable clone
I completely agree. It was hard enough just listening to the rest of the review since it was mostly him just trashing it. I loved Fable 1 and 2 (never got a chance to play 3) and I didn’t feel any of that negativity that he was talking about. And I was late getting to play those games. It really sounds like he just wants another Elder Scrolls or something. Also....Fable isn’t just some generic fantasy game...
White-Van Helsing Oblivion was actually fun.
Jirard, I hope you give Fable 2 a chance, at least on your own time. Personally, I VASTLY prefer it to the original or Fable 3. The world is more alive, free-roaming, and changeable, I found the characters more memorable, and the dog adds a whole new dimension of gameplay (and, sometimes, annoyance).
Curt Clark yeah Fable 2 was the best one. I hated 3 so much. I know people hate on Fable but I had alot of fun playing Fable 2 with my gf at the time. She doesn't play video games that much so it was simple enough for her to able to play a light RPG type game. She was on that all the time haha. Great memories
There were things in 1 I would have loved to see in 2 but all in all 2 is the better game.
cuts to me screaming "dog, DOG OVER HERE, jesus no thats a tree go around, no just, just go around" XD honestly that dog be it annoying made the game for me almost
Chris East like a villain that actually dose things or even fights back at the end lol it was better but the ending was lame. But every time I play I always choose the dog surviving ending I can't stand to let him go
I wish Fable 2 was on pc
Fable is one of my favorite games of all time and playing it again now for the first time since release it still holds up. Admittedly I wasn't in on the hype before release, but it's still one of my fondest memories from the 1st gen xbox era. Fable 3 equally successful? I don't think i can sub
Fable was the game that got me back into gaming.
The first fable was an absolute banger; the series could of gone to great things. Shame
C F What part about Fable 2 was good? The lack luster legendary weapons, the final boss who dies even if you do nothing, or the fact that your character is invincible at the age of like 8 with no training at any guild with "hero's blood" being a cop out. Face it. Fable 1 was good. None of the others. Fable 2 was so close to great. The final boss ruined it. Fable 3 added versatility but removed gameplay.
C F for someone who has no time to argue, you sure had enough time to type this paragraph
C F "get all three heroes to defeat the bad guy" you mean the bad guy who gets killed by Reaver in one shot? Look buddy. You can attack my age if you want. I don't rightly care because you're some nobody on the internet who got heated on the internet. Does my opinion really cause you that much aggression? Shall I elaborate why you're wrong? I shall.
1. As for the story, you're some random kid thrown into a twist of fate by reasons unknown. In fable 1 you train to become a hero and it actually goes through steps of progression. Your points of progress in fable 2 were the heroes. How is playing cops and robbers with your friend a storyline? I'll never know.
2. Fable 2 had an extraordinarily anticlimactic ending. Of you can't realize that... I don't know what to tell you. Jack off blades grew in size, had a unique const style, uses light to damage you, becomes a fucking dragon... Simply no comparison.
3. As for what fable 2 added... Better weapon upgrades and a more diverse landscape. I suppose Will was more streamlined. I'll give you that. But other than that that took away armor in most respects and removed a lot of minigames.
I'm sorry you feel I strongly about Fable 2 enough to insult my age and my intelligence. But that speaks more for you then it does for me. Regardless. I'm glad that my username treks you everything you need to know about me. Kudos on your foresight.
Pokemon Master I don’t think it’s any use he’s probably just going to reply with insults or is ignoring us.
@C F cf il assume ur very young since ur clearly viewing fable 2 with nostalgia glasses and perhaps thats why fable tlc imo is the best fable game hands down i grew up with fable 1 and played 2 and i liked 2 but no where near as good as fable tlc in fact my favorite part of fable 2 was finding out thibgs about what happened to the hero of oakvale i was so hype for fable 2 but ultimately was let down never played 3 looks trash so to sum up fable tlc > all other fables
I like this game, like its alright, but this is another review where a lot of criticisms seem unwarranted.
You know this game came out on the OG Xbox right? It was way ahead of its time, I don’t understand why your being so harsh on a 14 year old game.
"made the original feel like a test run" are you sure about that
Fable 2 was my favorite and I am endless disappointed there has yet to be a PC release for it!
You know the worst thing about all those games that are like "ooooh, you can be good or evil! The choice is yours!"? The game always wants you to just be pure good or pure evil. If you want to do the options you like the most instead, you just get penalized. So it's not actually that the choice is yours, it's that you choose between two storylines and one has a little more fighting than the other.
i agree with this sentiment entirely especially in fable if you have lost chapters and know your going to be pure evil in the end then there really ultimately is 1 choice be pure good to get the special unlocks and accept you being evil in the end. Also being good is basically hard mode in fable as there is no balance in terms of being good or evil basically and you get less money you can't steal or murder to take property if your good thus i'd say just like all my friends did they went evil like maybe 80% of people who did thus hampering choice more. i only did good mode in fable cause i thought i would be doing something different from my friends who all did evil. not only did i find the overall experience less fun on good like i said before in lost chapters you become evil anyway if there is a counter to this in anniversary changing said ending in lost chapters then i'd say cool but overall there is no great choices in this game. you ultimately want to be evil cause in the end you just become evil being good was more like a challenge run in fable not a cool meaningful choice to me.
You get a like just only for comment but also for your pfp

Which one do you guys like more fable 1 or fable 2??
Fable Anniversary is one of those games I probably go back to at least once a year. It's silly stupid fun with mostly enjoyable features, so I'm psyched to see you play it here on the channel. Great video, Jirard. Keep up the good work.
Best line in the videos "hey man we aint got many more of those."
Oh, hey! Jirard is reviewing Fable! that's one of my favorites and I'm playing through it again right now, what a huge coincidence! ... oh, he didn't really like it? Darn...
I personally prefer the original over the remaster. the characters faces in the original were not very good, but in HD they really fall into the uncanny valley. I'd actually go as far as to say the entire game looks uglier with the "fresh coat of paint." It also fixed the one good glitch in the game, the reverse aging one, and pretty much left the rest untouched. And the menus, don't even get me started on how butchered the menus are. it's basically a very, very bad, very lazy remaster, and I kind of lowkey hate it compared to the old one.
I do think it's kind of hilarious that Jirard thought Jack's old voice was the better of the two. they changed it for the Lost Chapters, because the original was so unfittingly bad. But I will stand by him when he says the story isn't very good, and that Jack isn't a great villain. He's got an awesome design, and he does some pretty terrible stuff that can make you hate the guy, but other than that he's just after a sword and the rest of the story is very generic. Fable 2 basically had the same plot, but done so much better with a lot better cast, so I do hope he'll check that game out. As for the world? I actually really love Albion. Jirard may think that there isn't any variety and all the villages feel the same, but I don't. pus it's fun to wait until night time, then use slow time and kill everyone in their sleep while the guards aren't around and buy up all the property. And how did he spend so much time fishing? there are like, 20 fishing spots in total in Albion, and you can win the fishing minigame in about 3 tries. I should know, I did exactly that yesterday in my own playthrough. Took less than 3 minutes to get first place. I think you can even just go and buy a fish in town and use that in the contest to cheat, too.
Also, this game has one of the best magic systems in any game I've ever played, due to the huge variety and how quick and simple it was. Want to be just a spellcaster? Plenty of spells to help. Want spells to help you as an archer? ghost swords, and enemy summons to keep the enemy away from you and multi arrows! Want to have spells to help with melee? Multi strike, protective shields, and berserk. Fable 2 kinda made it lamer, by removing some of the more unique spells and making it so that every spell needed to be charged to get to the next level instead of just always being the next level, and Fable 3 made every single spell work exactly the same to the point where there isn't even a point in using magic at all.
I'm just going to have to disagree with Jirard on this one. Fable is one of the most fun games I've ever played, which is why I still come back to it all these years later. I love the humor, I like the world, love the combat and I like the choices it gives you, even if I think the second game handled the choice system better.
imperfectmaster the thing i like better is when you step over items you pick them up instead of pressing a everytime. That might have been just a lost chapters add on i think but still
Enemy drops were auto pick up, while a lot items around the world did need a button press. See some apples on a picnic table? or a weapon leaning against a bandit's tent? you have to actually take them instead of just bump into them, but all enemy drops were conveniently auto picked up so you could focus on the combat.
Wow that comment really spiraled out of control
@@imperfectmaster oh well duh i dont want little times i dont need or are barely worth anything clutteeing my inventory. Ive never relied on the picking up every item to get enough gold, like in fallout, because the map isnt that big or open and the world gives you enough gold otherwise, so it didnt bother me
Agree with everything you said, except that I love everything about Jack of Blades and his original voice.
The first game is my favorite tbh. The second one is alright. And the third, altough nostalgic for me, was REALLY FREAKIN BAD.

Yeah, she is your older sister. Technically, the Hero would age considerably after a certain point in the game, where he is imprisioned. I don't remember how much, though. But it's supposed to be years.
A lot of things ticked me off about this review, not because you didn't like it, that is an opinion and there are some faults with the game admittedly, but you went into a game, not playing the sequels, not really doing any research and basically treating it like its a 2018 game, when its a 2004 game. Some of your comments are really lazy such as mocking it for predicting things that would be dominant in future games of this genre and saying it didn't do them well, which is really ignorant because of course it wouldn't do them well, we didn't know what the best was when it was introduced until later. Judge it for when it was out, not for when you played it, because of course many games of today will be better then Fable 1, that's the progression of games, but we have to look at it for when it was new and how its impact altered the RPG genre.
Amen
What also pissed me off was that EVERY segment just turned into the exact same thing. "Ugh, I didn't like the game and this is why." Three times. Three fucking times I was told the same reasons someone didn't like a game. I fucking heard you the first time!
Thank you! It really is something you have to consider. I grew up playing this as a kid and it was nothing like "going outside and using my imagination" it was more than that. You may be able to convince children of our age who are spoiled and unappreciative to the classics like this, that it wasnt the best game of our generation but youre god damn wrong if you think your "review" affected my perspective of the game. This game is gold. Everything about it, character design, artstyle, setting, consequences, plot, voice acting and over all the score. The music in this game topped it off for me and the only mention about the score was wanting to be a fucking elf. Are you fucking kidding!? Thank you again for commenting your opinion if it werent for people like you id be alone.
I didn't play this game as i really didn't care the for X Box at the time outside of the Halo games and when i did it was already 2009 and i just couldn't be bothered to brush out the older XBox and play the game. 2 was the first one i played and loved it. I even liked 3 although not as much. Then finally in 2015 or 2016 i finally got round to playing Fable Anniversary and i absolutely LOVED IT! It actually had more stuff than the other two games in spells and it just did certain other things better. I enjoyed Fable Anniversary more than 2 and 3 combined and i didn't play it till 2015/2016. So Imo it withstands the ages of time and is still a great game for most people to play even now. Unlike a LOT of other games. That is as long as you can get passed the horrible camera stuffs.
Berserk FTW.
Couldn't agree more Nick.
This was my first ever open world RPG. Ive asked so many times on twitter if youd do this game and it means so much to see it on your channel.
This game was so important to me when I was younger. Logged a lot of hours
Btw it doesn't hold up lol
The first fable was the only good fable. 2 and 3 we're underwhelming.
Christian Carrasquillo Yes, you are underwhelming
2 was better
InfamousArmstrong gave 2 a shot, wasn't a fan.
@@Dr.Fresco4291 same it felt like a water down version of 1 and a little bit better version than 3
Playing through this game for the first time. It's so ambitious and way ahead of its time
Agreed. Hope you enjoyed your playthrough
I liked how you do the format of your videos and that you try many games all the way to the fullest even if you may not like it half way through. I would love it if you did a completionist review of Sly 4 :)
Well, its and old game and it deserves the respect of what it was back in the days. Saying fable is a bad game in 2018 because there are better RPGs now is like saying horses really suck because we have cars now
Ive never clicked so fast on a video in my life
Thanks my dude!
Many of your issues are actually ironed out in Fable II.I really hope you decide to give it a go. I remember the first time I played it. I was honestly blown away by the story, the world, the artstyle and presentation. Although it retains some of the artistry of the first game it is massively improved and varied in comparison. You see the affect of your choices on the world. Unlike the first or third game. The second game really ended up feeling like the delivery on many of the promises from the first.
I just cam over from a Watch Mojo compilation on their top CZcamsrs of 2017, Instantly subscribed and rang the bell. I'm going to binge your channel over the next few days as I have only a couple of games that I have 100% completed, but a ton where I'm close. Hopefully I'll find out some tips and tricks to help me with games like this one, I've been trying to 100% Fable Anniversary for about 2 years. Thank you in advance.
I played all 3 fables games when they came out, and for me this one is the best by far. Not because it was my first one when i was like 11 years old (i played lost chapters), but because it was fresh and had so much love put into it. The world, the art style, the iconic soundtrack, the overall ambiance, silly and epic quests. Even side characters that were not very impactful by gameplay standart, i still remember way better than Fable 2 so called heroes. And there was such good moments during the story : the bandit clan, the white Balverine followed by the Arena was the strongest for me, and the prison part was imaginative. The weak part was the Heroes Guild because past the prologue there was no real interaction with the base members. And finally the magic system was way more versatile and interesting than the washed out fable 2 and Fable 3 version. I don't agree with a lot in this video on the technical/graphical aspect, but i understand the fact that many Molyneux's promises that were not fully accomplished tarnished this game legacy. (Sorry for my english)
This game is absolutely perfect to me!!
Been waiting awhile for this one super excited to watch so many memories
Never seen Jirard get so mad before, good mercy!
"Get in your hole" is now echoing through my head though
I'm generally with you but I just don't think you get the idea or fun that is Fable 1
Fable used to be one of my favorite games of all time, only good memories of it, now I have the anniversary version on steam and couldn't play through an hour of it, it really didn't aged well, but in its prime it was revolutionary
navarro a same thing happend to me...I kind of wish I never played it again. The memory of it was way better than the reality. Didn’t age well.
honestly the anniversary edition has the inventory system of two and three which is terrible as well as some other changes I don't really like. I would recommend playing an original Xbox version of Fable or Fable the Lost chapters
Thank you for your videos! Love your content as always Jirard!
This game was so amazing back then. Can't wait to replay for all the steam achievements
All the soundtrack in this game is amazing I feel the same Nostalgia I feel for the Kotor or Halo 2 soundtrack even though I just bought it last year.
And how dare you call Fable 3 "successful" 😤😤😤
PAKTRA PRODUCTIONS honestly I binged all three games and I don't know if it's just me but I say fable 1 is the most boring, Fable 3 is a little better (better characters) , but Fable 2 is good (Hammer's voice acting is amazing).
Some of the tracks from 1 and 2 are on my most used playlists
Dude, Fable 3 was not a bad game. Sure, it was different from the first two games in the franchise but play through it again and tell me that it's awful when compared to the first game. Fable 2 is my personal favorite with Fable 3 coming in second. But really, if any game in the franchise is awful, just look at Fable: Legends for the Kinect or the constant game crashes you get in Fable 1.
Successful doesn't mean good
Marisa C. I just said it wasn't successful critically but yeah you're right it was the best looking game and deceitfully polished despite being much more linear.
two is generally regarded as being the best in the series overall and the most balanced.
You may think Fable one was boring but I kind of liked it for its laid-back approach.
I must be a simple peon of a man..I love Fable Lost Chapters to hell and back, though the Anniversary edition's "coat of paint" uplift leaves much to be desired.
This was the first rpg I was ever introduced to. I was like 5 when I started playing. I was so bad I probably beat it a few years later. But since then I have beat it at least 30 times. I can beat it in 4 hours. I'm even gonna try to do a no damage playthrough
man this is giving me flashbacks of my childhood playing this game and playing Overlord which I feel like had similar graphics and comedy. Hope you do Overlord 1/2 in the near future.
First one is still my favorite
Are you going to do the other Fable games cuz that would be cool there's also DLC
Love your channel man keep up the good work
I love this game and it's my favorite of the series (take that for what you will). It was the game that really got me into console gaming and I just love everything about it. Its world, its humor, and its characters most of all. Jack of Blades doesn't have much in the way of development, but he has an air of menace to him, rich lore surrounding him, and this way of worming his way into your ear. This game's always got a place on my shelf.
That duke controller can really take a beating not like the 360 ones I went and destroyed numerous times
i just played this about a week or so ago. its part of Game Pass too, thats how i picked it up. it was a pretty solid series, before Lionhead was sadly shut down.
DBZWii09 there's rumors of Fable 4 being developed by the Forza Horizon team
The in-game books, item descrptions, Snowspire oracle all ad so much lore to the game, this reviewer clearly skipped the cutscenes and did'nt even pronounce Albion correctly, he is dead wrong!
I love this game, warts and all. A friend of mine sold me his Xbox and a bunch of games for super cheap during a time in 2005 or 06 when my wife and I where having some serious financial woes. Fable gave us a way to escape our problems for a few hours a night, as we worked together to complete it multiple times.
I completely understand why a lot of people were pissed about the broken promises and other issues, but for me, it will always have a special place in my memories.
Whoa it's kinda' crazy to me I haven't played Fable since back when it was new, I bought the anniversary edition when it was new, but didn't start playing it until this week... And you uploaded this a couple weeks ago... Must be something in the air... XD
I still think fable 1 has the best characters and story. Where 2 and 3 just ended or felt like busy work.
I loved this game, I wish there would have been more story though.
This was the first game I played through several times. I loved this game and watching this makes me want to play it through again.
Completely agree with you! one of my strongest memories of this game is just walking through the forest and hearing the ambient noise and a loon in the distance
First time I feel like I played a different game than you lol
I was amazed by how in-depth it was being from 2004 (played the original in 2016 without hearing from it before) Idk to me it felt so chill and like a true classic gem I totally missed back when it first released, cause I was like 11 playing Nintendo stuff lul
The only thing I didn't like about the anniversary edition is the textures looked a little odd compared to the original and I would honestly recommend picking up a copy of Fable or Fable the Lost chapters on the original Xbox and playing it. It's a different experience
One of my favorite xbox games of all time. 10 TOPS!!
I'm hoping you'll look into completing Fable 2. It's one of my personal favorite games ever. Just do yourself a favor and skip Fable 3. Great episode!
Cameytoe Fable 2 is almost the best in the franchise. He goes toes to toes with Fable: The Lost Chapters*.
Aw if he finishes 2 it's over hes gonna shoot up youtube comments especially this one. You gotta admit. We deserved a better ending
Yeah, the ending was complete bull crap. But that doesn't make the rest of the game bad. Still worth it, I'd say
Cameytoe definetly worth it
I haven’t played Fable in more than a decade and just got Anniversary on Xbox Game Pass. I’m enjoying it but it definitely didn’t age well. I can still enjoy it and I’m having fun but I can definitely see how it was limited by the tech back in the day. That being said it’s bringing back good memories and I do have to say the sound track is amazing it really stands out and the music sticks in your head 🔥
18:30 - I play the Steam version and there is no such achievement on Steam. On Steam, the "See The Future" achievement was replaced with an achievement called "Great Balls Of Fire!" which is unlocked by completing Heroic Mode (why doesn't the Xbox 360 version have that achievement?). I have every achievement besides that one which I plan to do.
I recently completed Fable Anniversary on PC and I loved the game just as much as I loved playing the original on Xbox plus more.
Fable II is also a good game like Fable (sorry that you weren't able to enjoy Fable) but Fable III is often criticized negatively by Fable fans and reviewers. If you didn't like Fable/Fable: The Lost Chapter/Fable Anniversary, you won't like the sequels.
My personal completion rating for this game is "Complete it" on the PC version, "Finish it" on the Xbox 360 version due to an impossible achievement to complete in this age.
Zone of the Enders and Second Runner review please.
Aw man, I'm bummed that Jirard disliked this game. It was one of my favorites growing up. I played 2 and 3 and they just didn't feel as fun or just plain ridiculous as the original.
Fable lost chapters had alot to offer and created a nice place to roleplay scenarioes for me. it really did feel like playing with my doll in the sandbox and I even found a way to turn my hero into essentially a GOD with mana regen augments and max level protection magic. Fable Anniversary's facelift scares me though since the cartoony exaggerations of the first game turned horrifyingly realistic.
Cool vid, gonna start Fable Anniversary tonight after work
