Thank you for your video. Regarding 1:00, for those who are unaware, the mixture of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and detergent is similar to but not as powerful a cleaner as is a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, washing soda and detergent. This is because Washing Soda (aka sodium carbonate) is a more powerful Alkali than Baking Soda (aka sodium bicarbonate). Hydrogen peroxide + Washing Soda = Sodium Percarbonate which is the Oxygen Bleach in OxiClean. OxiClean itself can be used for cleaning tile grout as well as cleaning many other dirty tasks. Furthermore OxiClean does not have the strong irritating odor from Chlorine Bleach (aka sodium hypochlorite). You can make your own OxiClean by combining hydrogen peroxide, washing soda and detergent.

I bought a steam cleaner, which does a great job. I’m going to try this, and maybe combine them. I don’t use a bucket for mopping. Instead, I rinse out my mop in my laundry sink so I never use a dirty mop on the floor. If you must use a bucket, have a rinse bucket to keep the mop cleaner. Otherwise, you’re just pushing dirt into the grout.

I use a sponge mop & a towel cloth between floor & mop. Lysol to clean floor. Then I wash the cloth & reuse it. Mop sponge stays really clean, but I rinse it out anyway. This way floor gets clean & mop sponge lasts a long time!! I sometimes use a smaller piece of towel cloth, and do half then use another for the other half, if it's a larger room ( or floor too yucky)

@@emmafauntleroy5241 There is a liquid clear grout sealer on the shelf at most box stores. I last got a white plastic bottle brand SoilLoc that is sold at Lowes. It has a squirt topper on it and find if you use a tooth brush to help direct and agitate the fluid in the lines, you will get better results. I think the quart bottle is too heavy, so I pour small amounts in a plastic condiment bottle and snip the tip at an angle. One more thing...if you can't get your grout right, Mapei (sp?) makes a product called grout refresh. It is a paint (hearty) also referred to as a dye you can use to completely change your grout color. I did an entire enormous kitchen with white grout lines. Applied with a tooth brush and it hasn't budged in 15 years. It is a grey white, but white. Narrow long cheap toothbrush is what you want to look for. Hope that helps friend!

Shaking peroxide with baking soda can cause the bottle to explode. And the same mixture is great for deskunking a pet or yourself. What works better is to dampen the grout, place baking soda in the grout and leave it sit. This mixture with a windowsill brush is super good to clean windowsills and patio door tracks. Scrub with brush. Rinse with hose again, squeegee windows.

I imagine any detergent will work just as well. I reckon I must have tried them all over the years, and there is precious little to choose between any of them. It seems the hotter the water, the better any of them work! I think the purpose of the dish soap is just to act as a binder, rather than to contribute anything to the actual cleaning process.
As for the hydrogen peroxide, there seem to be two sorts available: 5% and 15% concentration. If you can get the 15%, use that.

If you have a hose on your pressure washer long enough to reach from the nearest outside door to the bathroom, it will blast off mold and mildew so easy. I have a hand spray gun for maneuvering in tight places, perfect for this job. You can do the entire shower in about 2 minutes. There is a little over-spray but it is minimal and dries quickly.

@@maryannemckay3606wet/dry vac. You can find them at hardware stores. It’s called a shop vac because people generally use it in workshops to vacuum up water, saw dust, dirt etc.

FYI: applicator. I used a plastic ketchup bottle, you know, the round ones at diners? With a cap on it? A gentle squeeze and a perfect line on the grout.

Would this method work with the grout in the shower?

Well speaking for myself this would be great if it was just doing this in a small bathroom. But now try to do your whole house that has tiles with dirty grout. Then how would you clean up fast and steal efficiently?

Can I substitute the hydrogen peroxide with a product that contains it? Or is that dangerous?

I know Dawn has some restriction with what can be mixed with it. You should look that up, to start.
