I live in the Philippines, and there are quite a few down-on-their-luck American guys like the character played by Zahn who live in similar circumstances here in the islands. Even vlog about it.
We see that type of living here in Guatemala. Such as in the lake Atitlan. Gringos are living happily in pretty houses by the shore, eating cheap organic food, doing a lot of activities, etc. For me seeing that is not unrealistic. They might be “broke” for the American US standard but not for the Latino standard.
It's like watching a movie set in Hawaii. The characters always live in the most beautiful homes on the most beautiful locations on the beach, yet don't work and just surf all day.

Soccer players make ton of money of course they can have a house like that. I don't see how is hard to believe. Even if he played in mexican league he would have made millions.. obviously the mom was hating saying he was broke... Anyways good movie.
I don't know why Americans been doing a lof of movies related to Mexico recently, like in the past few years. Are they running out of ideas? Or exploiting the mexican culture? Idk if that's a good thing or bad.
''He didn't give up on you'' - uhmmmm, yes he did, when he bailed on her and her Mom. ''You didn't make me feel bad when I came in the middle of your life''- uhhmmm, he's your FATHER afterall. WTF does this show, a teenage girl ''rescuing'' her deadbit alcoholic Dad while leaving Mom who raised her behind? Cringe.
Love how they are coming out with more movies about fathers. I get so tired of always seeing the same crap narrative of mothers and daughters when most mothers are baby momma level and are not at all mothers.
It could have easily been a Mexican-American who feels disconnected to her culture, and goes and stumbles across her father and build the relationship between both. But you know, Hollywood :/
It's going to be pay day one day. Do not be deceived, God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature he will reap distruction. People relax, last time was in Central America I almost bought a seven room motel with a separate house for ten grand American, three blocks from the beach. It can be done, easily.

That sounds nice
Tbf it’s not that hard to live luxuriously in Mexico in comparison to Hawaii .
You've obviously never been to Mexico.
@ArsynZ I was there like 2 weeks ago , it can be expensive but it can be super affordable I stayed in a hostel that was 20.00 a day and so nice

I kind of feel like, i just watched the whole movie.these 3 minutes long trailers pretty much tell you everything about the movie.
Looking for this comment.... I just finished the entire movie... I stopped watching the 2nd trailer out of every feature film....
Lol
Steve Zahn is such a under appreciated actor, he can do slap stick funny, action, and drama, be good at all characters he plays!
He truly is talented I agree
I LOVE him in the movie Management with Jennifer Aniston. I have watched that film many times over and I always watch anything he is in,
Steve Zahn is so underrated. He’s great in just about everything he does.
Once again Judy Greer is in 1 out of every 3 movies/tv shows released.
You say that like it’s a problem.
@@TexasT2009 It is just the opposite.

This is my type of movie. Will watch it.
I was Steve's surf stunt double in the movie. It's a nice little film:)
Finally a movie about a young girl who needs her father and he needs her.

Really glad to see Steve Zahn back on the big screen!
Cool movie
Jess Gabor also appeared on Shameless
I hope this is a giant success for Zahn.
Judy Greer's agent thank you.

Judy Greer? IN!
see you know she went to Mexico because the world became yellow filtered lmfao
I'm sorry did she say "i'm fat" there at the beginning???
Jess Garbor😍
excelente pelicula me encantó muy recomendable, no las basuras de inclusion y otras del cine actual que dan nauseas solo de verlas
Steve Zahn should act in more movies
Jackson Bickford, absolute legend down Fratton Park. Play up Pompey!
Really threw me when I spotted the Pompey logo. In Southsea currently!
🎉 The trailer already brings you cheers to yours so wonder if the American upbringing works in the end?
Stop showing the whole movie in the trailer, we are begging!
not the yellow filter para mi méxico, tipico
A good movie to look at with your family and a good drama

Will we ever get past the need to have movies where men learn to be fathers?
Fair, except all well written (co)protagonists learn from their encounters or experiences within the story.
Not enough Judy Greer in that trailer.
And with the shift in setting it seems Judy's role is limited to first 15-20 minutes of film. Hope not.
Here for Roselyn Sánchez
Loved her in shameless. Bet she wishes Carl was there in Mexico, to help her navigate, frank Jr. 😂
Roselyn LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME
