I'm American. I think this whole transition was very sweet. The queen "retired " for health reasons. She gets to relax and enjoy her years now. She got to see her son become king. Everyone seems happy. Frederick and Mary are beautiful. Prince Christian seems like a true gentleman. And no one had to die. I think it's a win-win for everyone. And his brother was there to support him. Great job everyone 🎉🎉🎉

I am very pleased Queen Elizebeth did not abdicate , Meghan MARKLE and Harry Windsor would have ruined King Charles life as King of England …… Elizebeth was wise to carry the burden of her *ignorant grandchild and his wife* , the Queens presence reduced the impact of the harm intended against our head of state and nation as a whole . Our institution continues and all is well .
I wish the Danish 🇩🇰 royal family a very happy future .

So yesterday ( January 14th 2024 ) the new Reigning King was pesented to Government ( when the Reigning Queen Margrethe II signed her resignation ). And after that presented to the people from the balcony. And today (January 15th 2024 ) he was then presented in Parliament ( Folketinget ). Where the Speaker first wellcomed him as the new Reigning King. And then the PM held a short speach of her own, and then also read out loud a Statement from the new King ( the Reigning Monarch never Officially speaks in Parliament ). After that in a different room members of Parliament and officials from Faroe Islands and Greenland ( off camera ) get to meet and talk to the Royals. Just trying to give a short summary of what happened!

Crown Prince Christian is very tall. He needs a haircut and to gain some muscle in the army. Queen Mary to me is the most elegant Queen in Europe. Loving this transition!
For a long time, Denmark was the “go to” source for princesses to marry the heirs apparent of other European royal houses, providing future queens for many countries. It helped that they were beautiful, as well as understanding Royal duties and protocols.
Maybe Queen Mary will set a precedent for European royalty to find a new source of Royal consorts in Australia, which voted in 1999 to remain a kingdom instead of becoming a republic. (Little known fact that Charles III of England is also Charles I, King of Australia.)
@@highcountrydelatite I would say, that a company like Novo Nordisk is a bit more financially important for Denmark nowadays!?!! Novo Nordisk is close to being the richest European company in market value. I know they were that at some point last year! Also as for shipping all the LEGO and other goods around the world Mærsk lines is in the top 3 of container shipping companies, again at times they have been the biggest. And overall Denmark is, and has always been, in the top ten of seafaring nations ( in tonnage carried on Danish owned ships ). But obviously a tiny country with 6 million people will always only be a "minor player" on the world stage. So be it.

I think it’s “hurrah”
in Danish . Hurra. Its the same as in english, just without the last h. the 9 hoorays, hurrah, hurra, derived from old huzza, is said to be done to triple the 3 hurras from the trinty in christianity, in honor of the royalty. Some people belive it might have come from the armys trumpet blower who signaled 3 times in order to show the fellow soldiers where the fieldmarshal where located, again tripled for royalty. Some again think the 9 is all the way back from the viking age. The 9 valkyries. 9 realms.. And 9 is also said to be a holy number as jesus died in the 9th hour.. I could go on and on, i made this in a essay once - the teacher thought i included to much of everthing. i couldnt help to respond.. How much? 9-fold?

It's strange to see Queen Margreth II as a former queen. I understand that her health may cause some limitations, but I don't believe it is something insurmountable. She was selfless in abdicating. Although I am not a subject of the Danish crown, I hope the new king lives up to her selflessness.

I dont really know how to explain. It a kind of celebration and gratulation of the new King and Queen. We also use it at birthday, weddings ect. But that is usually 3 shorts and 1 long hurra/hurray.

Thoughtful new king who spared his subjects the astronomical expenses of a extravagant coronation. Especially, during this austere time. He put the financial concerns of his people first.
Things like that is NOT his decision! We have not had coronations in Denmark since 1848. Where we went from "Divine Royal Rule" to being a Constitutional Democracy with a Constitutionally regulated non political Reigning Monarch as Head of State. These are political decisions. And the Reigning Monarch has no say in politics.
Hold your horses. There's bound to be a costly divorce settlement, if/when Queen Mary calls it quits on their marriage.
Give a vote for the following. Give Tasmania to Mary as a gift.
Queen Mary is from the Australia state Tasmania. It is a very small population which has limited services compared to the rest of Australia.
Tasmania would be so much better looked after as part of the EU. Its citizens would have huge benefits being EU passport holders.
Lets face it Oz already competes in EU stuff. Yet it is on the other side of the world.
People in AsiaPac would have a much shorter journey to the EU simply by going to Tasmania. Other EU nations hold territories in AsiaPac. So this aligns with them. However Tasmania has a much more European climate than the rest of Oz.
