hello my friend iam from morroco you it's a great job but you forgot to put blackbird and nightingale and the canary and the best bird in the world the very cliver bird he learn singing with others birds the Goldfinch
Hello 😉 Thank you very much. Actually, I have some goldfinches in the aviary and blackbirds free in the garden. But you are absolutely correct that all these birds are very good singers 😊
@@matthiasfrohlich4474 I understand. Depends on wich species and how hot it gets during daytime. But, if in doubt it is almost better to wait as you do😅😉
Great tour of the aviary, the young cardinals are doing well, good achievement breeding them!, looking forward to seeing the latest birds released into the aviary go to nest, the golden song sparrows should be an interesting bird to go to nest. Class video torben. 👍🍻. Mark.
Mark, do you know how the nest of the golden sparrow looks like? I haven’t been able to find a picture or a good description of it. But I think they have build a very massive nest below the roof netting - with a lot of small branches. More heavy build than I have seen with finches. 🤔
Hi torben, I've not seen the golden song sparrows nest in real life, although I have a lot of cage bird/aviary books, I've found a description of them in 'birds keeping a mixed collection' by Irene Christie, it says : a large untidy nest is constructed, which is dome-shaped with a side entrance, gorse bushes often provide popular sites. Pairs only go to nest if left strictly alone, so do not inspect the nest, 3 to 4 eggs form a normal clutch, hen incubates alone, 16 days incubation period, plenty of insects, Greenfood and sprouted seeds when rearing, : that's info in the description. 👍. Mark.
@@markdbowman2807 Thanks Mark! Very good info. And on the nest itself it sounds like the one I found. These days I only see the male or the female. Usually, the follow each other closely - so I am quite sure the are on eggs somewhere. Thanks for the help - hope to be able to show you some chicks soon 😆🤞
Lovely aviary Fantastic bird species How do you support feed the parents when they have chicks, what insects & other food do you add? Many thanks Best regards from Australia

Absolutely amazing! Such a wonderful aviary and wonderful birds. I don't think I have ever seen the bleeding heart dove before. It's a very pretty bird. How large would you say it is compared to diamond doves?
Thank you very much 😊👍 It is an amazing bird, the bleeding heart dove. It weighs just around 180 gram and is 30 cm long compared to the diamond dove with around 35 grams and 19 cm. So the bleeding heart is more like a “real” dove - but an interesting species. Kind regards from DK 😉
@@TropicalAviaryBirds Thank you very much for the reply! I had no idea they were so big! Well, comparatively speaking at least. A bird to consider for the future for sure. Hope you will have a great breeding season :D
Thank you very much 😊 Many would say that it is overcrowded already - and I am sure I could get more chicks if all birds was kept a part. But I think they aviary is much more interesting this way. Both for me - but also for all you viewers😉 Having said that, I get plenty of chicks - and I need to catch most of these to avoid the aviary being completely overcrowded as you say 😅
