@@satyre_1 Super late on this reply but just now seeing it. Not exactly sure how I stumbled across this video, but I first song of theirs I heard was "The Night We Met" when Budweiser used it for their Dale Jr tribute in 2017. Still somehow took me a little more than two years to realize I shared a name with Ben!

I met Ben in Liverpool, UK the other night. He is absolutely gorgeous and such a lovely person and amazing live singer. In fact the entire band are lovely ❤️ xx

All the way back then, even with Strange Trails, his own words were that it was about not being afraid to “stare into the void.” All of these albums are connected and it’s the coolest thing in the world. I can’t get enough of Lord Huron!

Very insightful on what this amazing band is on. After a few years of living in NYC I am still unable to find anything that can barely match the musical level and originality of Lord Huron.

I’m really curious on what “the yawning grave” means in reference to the story of the song.
It's about the earth.
"I know the rain like the clouds know the sky" rain falls to the ground and feeds the earth
"I speak to birds and tell them where to fly" birds use the earth's magnetic fields to navigate
"I sing the songs that you hear on the breeze" the wind is influenced by the topography of the earth
Then it gets more metaphorical, but it's about how all things that live off the earth must die eventually.
The whole album is like a series of ghost stories.
I was driving to work today, listening to Pandora when THE NIGHT WE MET started pouring into my car and it took me back to that foggy memory of that perfect night I met my one and only. We have two beautiful kiddos now... sometimes life can be so cruel, people make mistakes, we say things we don’t think through. Sometimes, I hate to admit I wonder if I’d never met him that night but mostly I am so overwhelmed at how incredibly blessed I am to have met him.

"I will wait by the river" was first song that CZcams played randomly for me. I don't get western music bands to be honest , but I would regard lord Huron to be well recognized classic band but I am disappointed to find these that these guys are so underrated and there are so less interviews. The music is one of its own kind and authentic , I wanna know the mind of composer.
Ben, Keep up the great work, I discovered you with your cuts used in Longmire. Discovering you r other music has been a real treat! Keep up the great work! Don't lose your great lakes / Michigan roots!

@@nickg339 Lord Huron was excellent! They opened with Love Like Ghosts/Meet me in the woods. From there they put on a performance that I wont ever forget. I got pretty emotional once they ended with The Night We Met. All in all it was a rollercoaster of emotions.🙂👍

He is fascinating to listen to, really intelligent, creative talent.
Strange Trails is a fucking masterpiece literally!! This Is why I don’t listen to mainstream music! You hear the same shit over and over! Well that’s fine! If you like it! I mean its just my opinion but mainstream I just can’t stomach! I’ll gladly listen to Strange Trails over and over!
