PLOT: In his second cinematic adventure, the mighty warrior Conan (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is tricked into working for the scheming Queen Taramis (Sarah Douglas). Along with finding a mystical horn, Conan and his allies, which include the fierce fighter, Zula (Grace Jones), and the wisecracking sorcerer, Akiro (Mako), must protect the beautiful young Princess Jehnna (Olivia d'Abo). With deception and danger at every turn, Conan has to use all of his power to defeat the evil foes that stand in his way.

He wasn't afraid to tell her, right to her face, that she's not his Queen. I like that! Nowadays, if she'd of spoken to some of these wimpy "guys" like that, they'd of crawled up into a corner, and cried, and boo-hooed...
And probably would've started sucking their thumbs!!!
After the majesty of Barbarian, I nicknamed this film "Conan The Disappointment"!
Agreed. This is still...umm.... watchable, but there are so many plot holes, that the story comes out, looking like a super-weird form of Swiss Cheese! For example:That battle, shown here, was interesting...but totally unnecessary. Had "Queen" Tamarias just rode forward to greet Conan in a peaceable way, then that bloodshed of those Men could've been avoided...but I guess the Filmmakers needed something "exciting" to open up the Movie with!
And that's only the beginning of the plot holes.
Still, although somewhat of a disappointment, it's still fun to watch...
About once every 5-6 years!!!

I saw Conan the Barbarian & Conan the Destroyer 3x in the Theater when they were originally released & also purchased both films later on VHS. However ...on VHS I noticed the Conan & Togra fight scene in Destroyer had been edited to remove Togra's vastly superior Sword display after they both fell off their horses & continued fighting. I've never read anything regarding this "Edit" nor have watched any Arnold or Sven-Ole Thorsen interview that mentions it either. Regardless, as said ...Sven-Ole Thorsen Sword skills really made Arnold look bad which I'm sure is the reason the "Edit" was done for Home media release.

His "Sidekick", Malak, pretty much ruined a lot of this movie. I have nothing against Tracey Walter, the Man who played Malak, but his Character was just about totally unnecessary. He jumped to conclusions that he shouldn't have, and he got things wrong, more times than not.
