My only concern with this is Chad being her son. I know that of prince charming was white, it's very possible for a black woman to have a white passing son, but the prince in her movie was Asian. Unless they somehow recast Charming, it's a bit odd.

I think this is the best direction they could’ve done with it honestly, like think about it, if you focused more on the other cast then it would just not work because it wouldn’t be the same, but now they’re taking it to explore the universe and expand on it, I couldn’t be happier with that

I binged all the original movies for the first time last year because they were a little after my time (am old) and I actually loved them. I obviously don’t have the same nostalgia or attachment for the cast, but I loved them and I’m really hoping all these new characters are just as cool and fun.

honestly im happy there will be new people. everyone else is in their late 20’s early 30’s…we seriously cant expect them to continue portraying high schoolers! and even if they werent, dove, booboo, and sofia arent ‘disney kids’ anymore, theyre adults and want to explore more avenues of art and media. i find it awesome we are also getting new characters!!!
They are ignoring some of the fine details that were in the original movies and idk maybe that will be explained but it’s kind of sad. For example did you realize that only the VKs have unnaturally colored hair and not the Auradon students? Not all as Jay was just black but Mal, Evie, Uma, Dizzy, and Carlos all had colored hair. Audrey in the third movie is the only exception that I remember and that’s cause she is trying to imitate Mal and then she goes evil. Also I think nearly every students name starts with the first letter of one of their parents name. Mal and Maleficent. Evie and the Evil Queen. Ben and Belle/Beast. Audrey and Aurora. Jane I think is the only one that doesn’t fit this trend that I can remember. Mal and Hades as well but Mal has the M for Maleficent. But these small things are being ignored Red doesn’t go with the Queen of Hearts or Bridget. And Cinderella and Chloe have unnaturally colored hair. Could there be in story reasons for this. Yeah. Red might have changed her name. Chloe and Cinderella might have dyed their hair since Mal and Evie are trend setters (granted the flashback of Cinderella shows her with dyed hair so I doubt that).

It’s a deliberate choice to tell more about a character or more about a location. Even when I said Jane breaks the naming rule it’s to represent that Jane isn’t a Fairy Godmother like her mom she’s just plain Jane. It’s very deliberate for that reason. The crazy hair rule is followed through a bit even with Jay who has naturally colored hair but I believe he’s the only guy with long hair. Setting him apart from the Auradon kids. This isn’t real life where you can use the excuse on of it’s a coincidence.

Also do remember reading somewhere that Mitchell Hope was open to doing a cameo in this movie but not without Dove.

It makes sense that they aren’t there! At the end of The Royal Wedding Mal says a story somewhere else is about to begin, hinting to Red and Chloe’s story. And it isn’t a fourth movie, it is a spin-off!

I binged all the original movies for the first time last year because they were a little after my time (am old) and I actually loved them. I obviously don’t have the same nostalgia or attachment for the cast, but I loved them and I’m really hoping all these new characters are just as cool and fun.
I am going to miss the og characters but I truley and respectfully am excited for the new descents!!!😊😊

honestly im happy there will be new people. everyone else is in their late 20’s early 30’s…we seriously cant expect them to continue portraying high schoolers! and even if they werent, dove, booboo, and sofia arent ‘disney kids’ anymore, theyre adults and want to explore more avenues of art and media. i find it awesome we are also getting new characters!!!

They are ignoring some of the fine details that were in the original movies and idk maybe that will be explained but it’s kind of sad.
For example did you realize that only the VKs have unnaturally colored hair and not the Auradon students? Not all as Jay was just black but Mal, Evie, Uma, Dizzy, and Carlos all had colored hair. Audrey in the third movie is the only exception that I remember and that’s cause she is trying to imitate Mal and then she goes evil.
Also I think nearly every students name starts with the first letter of one of their parents name. Mal and Maleficent. Evie and the Evil Queen. Ben and Belle/Beast. Audrey and Aurora. Jane I think is the only one that doesn’t fit this trend that I can remember. Mal and Hades as well but Mal has the M for Maleficent.
But these small things are being ignored Red doesn’t go with the Queen of Hearts or Bridget. And Cinderella and Chloe have unnaturally colored hair.
Could there be in story reasons for this. Yeah. Red might have changed her name. Chloe and Cinderella might have dyed their hair since Mal and Evie are trend setters (granted the flashback of Cinderella shows her with dyed hair so I doubt that).

@@gingerdog8203 No. because it’s a movie everything is planned out. Everything has a reason from hair makeup, names, backgrounds, costumes. It’s a deliberate choice to tell more about a character or more about a location.
Even when I said Jane breaks the naming rule it’s to represent that Jane isn’t a Fairy Godmother like her mom she’s just plain Jane. It’s very deliberate for that reason. The crazy hair rule is followed through a bit even with Jay who has naturally colored hair but I believe he’s the only guy with long hair. Setting him apart from the Auradon kids.
This isn’t real life where you can use the excuse on of it’s a coincidence.
Y’all do realise that even if camren didn’t pass it would still be done like this it’s the new line cuz mal and Ben and the other vks went on holiday or something
No Ben and Mal got married in the animated short film descendants the royal wedding from 2021 and are now living their happily ever after which was shown at the end and it also teased this film.

@@Your.fav.mills14 yeah even though that does go against what some of the main cast members wishes are, I think mainly Dove as I read some where that Sofia wished this new cast well (and somebody said that she was open to returning in a cameo not sure how true it is it is just what someone said) and I haven’t personally seen what Booboo had to say, this is true . Also do remember reading somewhere that Mitchell Hope was open to doing a cameo in this movie but not without Dove.
