I love how the artists love their work.
They are so dedicated to their craft.
It was the first time I had seen an opera with Japanese elements and I was very impressed.
The only thing I would say is that when they used kimonos for costumes, I wanted them to be worn in the correct way.
It doesn't look very beautiful when the chest is wrinkled.

I loved that production of Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier which translates a deep knowledge of Japanese culture. Traditional and modern at the same time. They also translated the actual situation of sexual harassment of a woman not only in the colonial context. I wish I could see it again with Maria Agresta.

I don't see Pinkerton as a 'victim'. If he hadn't given Cio-Cio-San false hope (and had kept his pants buttoned!) the tragedy would never have occurred - the rat!!
The story line is amazing
I'm sure it'll be (was it already?) heart-wrenching & a blockbuster at least for Agresta & Guerrero. Hope some YT channel will show excerpts of it. Maybe I find a streaming somewhere of it...
The Royal Opera obviously hasn't heard of brexit or Trump and has a full international cast and production team that collaborates to the very highest level of excellence.If this was the model for the whole UK economy then we wouldn't be in the mess we are.

If they go for accuracy, why would they stop at one person? But this is about who is the best opera singer for a role. Even the prince and the princess in Turandot are supposed to be young and beautiful, but I've never seen them being played by anyone other than 40yo looking man and woman.
They don’t necessarily have Germans or Italians playing German/Italian characters 🤷🏼♂️
