I don’t like Hoshiumi’s character design with the green eye liner and feathers for hair, but the dialogue, the athlete, the personality are freaking great
He totally looks like a seagull. The attempt for him to look like a seagull was too obvious, I don't like the character design too. But the animation made me get used his face, now I don't see it as a weird seagull anymore, he's kinda cute XD
Also it's actually not eye liner. If you look at some manga panels of him as a child you will notice that he had it back than too. And also that both his mom and older brother have the same eyes. I personally like his character design, but i understand that some people dislike it.

Hinata shoyo is raw talent in 1st year everyone interested to see him how much he grows till 3rd year.
But think about kageyama he is already sharpen his skill and am waiting to see what things he will add and grow as a player in 3rd year.
Don't worry bruh....You won't be seeing much of that or anything after this tournament.. Likely just a sum up of how they played in 2nd and 3rd year, nothing in particular but honing their skills in just one episode maybe after that story will fast forward to a few years and that's where it gets intersting in the end

I honestly am kind of wishy-washy about this character. I mean, I LOVE the fact that he’s so well-rounded and makes Hinata a little jealous so he wants to work harder to be called a little giant. On the OTHER hand, he’s cocky, like when he comes up to Kageyama and tells him to be more afraid of him. Like, Kageyama already has a not-as-skilled-yet player just like him back home. There are other people JUST like you.

Better than Hinata, but not on Hoshiumi's level yet. He wasn't exactly cocky. He knew he was better than Hinata, but didn't directly say it to anybody, just said in his head that he was going to be worthy of the Little Giant title next. You can be good and NOT cocky.
@@bigonbooks4736 Him coming up to Kageyama isn't him being cocky, it's him being dumbfounded that this guy doesn't feel threatened by him the way everyone of his opponents always have been after realizing the shorty's got the skills to rival (if not surpass) them. To Kourai, Kageyama's non-reaction must have felt like he once again wasn't even seen as a competitor, only now someone was dismissing him for his skills and not just underestimating him because of his height. In this moment, Kourai basically feels exactly like Kageyama and Hinata felt when Ushijima just completely dismissed them as potential rivals.
Yessss he is so good that he has the right to cocky, I really like his mindset, he knows his strength and weakness, and he works hard, and I bet not many people in the anime that can jump like him
