      In my entire life, I've only skated four times, with three of them being on quads and once on inliners. I personally like inliners more from an aesthetic standpoint, even though I struggled with them the first and so far only time I've used them. Even with the refreshers from this channel, I'm still constantly reminded that watching is VERY different than actually doing it.

      I have it the same way! What I do, is listen to music, find a quiet SMOOTH spot when no one else is there, and wear a lot of padding - knees, elbows, wrists, helmet - you name it. Then I find that if I *do* fall, it doesn't hurt that much and so Im not too scared of falling when I practice. Try to force yourself to relax as well. Sometimes I get nervous on my skates and I notice Im way more off balance and way more unstable than when I relax and just enjoy myself. But agreed - I want a video on tips on how to overcome the fear of trying new tricks!

      This may not be the advice you are looking for.... but, once you fall once or twice you realize it hurts but is not that bad. I've lost the fear of falling and although I still am not good at skating I'm not afraid to try and practice new things in order to get better.

    • @butasimpleidiotwizard
      @butasimpleidiotwizard Pƙed 6 lety +3

      1cingSugar you're either putting too much pressure on the toe stop or your foot isn't far enough behind you, or both. Your weight needs to be mostly on your front leg so you can adjust the pressure on the back, you only really want to press down hard if you're going fast. Getting low also helps with keeping balance.

    • @Sssweet.evil13
      @Sssweet.evil13 Pƙed 6 lety +3

      1cingSugar slow down with the plow before you use your toe stop! It can be dangerous to use a toe stop when you are going fast.

    • @MystiqueRisingSun
      @MystiqueRisingSun Pƙed 5 lety +3

      Using the toe stop skating forward is actually quite dangerous! Many people tend to panic and "slam" the toe stop down. This can cause broken ankles/lower legs. You should really only use the toe stop if skating backwards. Check out videos on how to do a T-Stop. It's much safer/easier, and once you get better, you can do one of the turns Indy shows in another video so you can go backwards and use the toe stop when you want to stop quicker.

    The first time I went roller skating I had one foot down and just moved the other one ( because I didn’t know how to skate properly or anything about skating). So starting this was easy.

    I do the scooter push as a newbie, it’s more easy. But my trucks are to stiff, i need to loosen them but then, i have less stability as a beginner.

    "presure on the heelsz" that's gonna be a problem for me, the pair of quads I bought are actually the boardwalks from suregrip and they're amazing but the wheels are slippery as fuck and I usually end up almost falling on my back even though I've put absolutely NO pressure in the heels AT ALL
