Is $40/hr still a good starting point now, with the cost of living up like it is? Would it be fair to start a little higher than that?
I saw an ad originally from someone else, sorta selling a book and program (Bill Vomfumetti), and then searched bookkeeping business into my CZcams search and found your videos and have found them very helpful in learning about this field. I'm in a phase where I want to invest into something that will allow me the freedom to do more in life so I really value the effort and input from these videos and I hope to seriously start making steps into this becoming a reality.

Hi, I just started working for a construction business Licensed/ LLC and I am doing data/ budget entry through excel. Wanted to use this as a steppingstone to start freelance bookkeeping.
Yes, that's a great place to start (get familiar with one business) and branch out from there. Construction would be a great niche because it's pretty specialized. Good luck!

I don’t have formal accounting experience but did take a couple classes in college and do basic bookkeeping with my current job. Great video! I'm looking to start my business, hoping soon, but want to make sure that I have everything set. I have a DBA, but I think I will first start as a sole proprietor. I also completed courses in bookkeeping, but I feel that learning from a classroom vs real world might be way different. Like I would still have to figure out how to reconcile statements and know what I am doing because our class didn't focus on it much. Can you speak more about gaining confidence in doing bookkeeping? Greetings to you Morgan. I recently passed the pro advisor exam a couple of months ago and am in the process of getting my book-keeping business started. I prepare taxes also with a tax firm not that experienced this will be my second season preparing taxes. How would you decide what to charge clients based on the info I just provided and the prices you quoted in your video, are they pretty much what someone just starting out in a small business is able to afford ? seems like a small amount for the type of work that you will have to endure. Thanks so much for the video! Very Informative! I have had my business since 2018 and ever since I have had a hard time getting new clients. I only have two clients. One client I do their books every quarter and the other one once a year. I charge $15 per hour which I think is low and should be up to 25 per hour. I dont have a website. The final thing is that I use the QB Desktop version. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Most people are advising us to choose an industry and master in that, instead of working for every kind of industry, but how can we figure it out which industry we would like to work with, if we don't try them? I'm assuming there might be another way? Thank you for your time!
Good question, I'll save this as a video idea. But basically, you're right, you probably won't know your exact niche when you start. I'd look at networks you're already a part of (have your worked at a non profit? Is your partner a plumber? Do you have a lot of friends that sell things on Etsy?). Just start somewhere, and you can always pivot from there if needed.

Morgan do you do payroll when doing bookkeeping? Especially if you have QuickBooks desktop. Also can you make a video or do you have a video would you separate basically how far you go before you start doing the accountants duties
