Been playing this for 2 days, this is the first boss that gave me trouble. Once I heard the gurus voice, time stood still - and I knew that everything would be ok.
Almost killed him on my first try, I was about to go into Yokai Shift to finish him off this bitch ass doesn't the curl grab attack and killed me.
Hahahah. Bless the guru. I'm still working on the snake, but there is progress every try.
This boss is quite easy tbh. Predictable moves, more space. Enenra gave me a HARD time. I think ill kill the snake tomorrow. I already made progress with this one and im tired asf

@@distorted1030 enenra has an actual logical hitbox unlike Yatsu, try doing Yatsu without summon.

This fight was retarded its soo fuckinbslow i almost fell asleep waiting for its attacks to land i fucked the timing up so many times because u had time to rub one out on pornhub an grab a coffee before the frickin attack landed im like oh my god this is so stupid

I tried not to kill the little ones, because then yatsu stops doing the move where he shoves them in the ground, and that is the best time to damage him

Just keep blocking and backing up only go for attacks you know will hit and stun then block again just in case when she starts charging run towards her but to the side aswell so she can’t turn into you

The Dynamic Flashy yep, and then the snake 2 hits you with it’s dumb 100% accuracy poke attack
Maybe try instead of going for the arms when he puts his arms in the ground go for the head or go to expeditions and host a match with the mission selected for extra help I only recommend 1 additional player due to the difficulty increase

@@theclown5365 oh ok. Every time I reach a main boss I have a hard time that it makes me want to stop playing the game even though I actually enjoy playing through the missions a lot.

This video saved the damn day. I applied some of the approaches along with my own and persevered. I first found some of the videos on the channel back when Elden Ring dropped. One of the best, period.

Got the concept - got the execution - it’s that g/d slither rush-down and/or his grab attack that gets me every f’ing time. Infuriating how many attempts/hours I’ve been stuck on this thing.
@Tyler Kadle Well, that explains why I can never BC this a**hole. LOL. I’ve read many comments that trying to BC this thing is a PITA, so I just figured I couldn’t get the timing down.

Thanks for the guide. It *really* made things easier for me!
Some things I noted once things got going after targeting the boss's "arms":
It is possible to kill *both* before the phase shift. You have to do as before, but wait until it throws daggers and then target the remaining arm. It takes some practice, but is doable.
If you do this however, the boss likes to troll/bait you... by acting likes it's going to come in so you can smack it's head, only to pull back at the last second and then spit poison at you.
I never killed the smaller snakes. I just run away during the dark realm. Got it after 40 tries.

And its only like the 3rd boss lol. Jesus christ they really upped the difficulty in this one. Only took me maybe 1-4 tries with all the bosses in the 1st game...

I think the big wrinkle that makes this boss such a pain is that the lock on target is it's head (which moves all the time) and not the snake's "neck" which is more prominent and is more commonly in the same spot.
I guess this boss is too difficult that even the mighty goru got hit few times...If he gets hit more than once, you know a boss is no joke! The title of the video doesn't even say "Without getting hit"
Thing is, those daggers aren't even hard to avoid. You can just sprint to the side as well as roll through them. Hell, I'm pretty sure you don't even need to sprint, so long as you just move to the side. The main problem is his ridiculous hitboxes. Even though he's slow as fuck, the hitboxes gave me real trouble.

Thanks - I was having trouble with this one. Pretty much killed the baby sneks ASAP then carefully whacked big snek's head with high stance once each time it charged as suggested. Took a long time to kill it that way but it ended up working.
After everything I saw, I thought this fight was going to be horrible. I almost beat it first try. Definitely got him on the 2nd one

Salute to the Guru!!! Lol!! Dude definitely got me thru Sekiro!! It drove the hell outta me that he played with that small amount of health for the rest of that battle!! I'm like use an elixir! Yet he went untouched!! This guy is amazing!! Lol💯💯

Finally I defeat this boss. Here's what I did :
1) When she doing underground attack, run toward her and attack with high stance from the side, I use Odachi. This will hit both, her head and her snake arm. Do it until her arms fell off. If you did this, she will not be able to summon 2 little snakes when in dark realm. So you can focus on the main body.
2) Use barrier talisman when she summons dark realm, focus on dodge and run until dark realm is over.
3) Repeat step no. 1
Remember to use whatever that makes you run fast, keep your weight low for better agility. Ninjutsu like bombs also useful so you can keep attacking from distance.
It needs learning curve until we remember her attack pattern.
actually the dark realm is easy. you just get to the other side of the room and hit it with odachi once it gets close. The little snake won't bother you this way
This method worked for me. It took a few tries but not hard to learn the pattern.

Were you holding the LB key the whole time? I noticed you never replenished your health bar during the whole fight?
The Guru...the only key choice for tips on these Cruuuuel demons..
I didn't hear a thing you said. I just learned off of what to do by looking at you dodge stuff
I killed both small snakes in the first phase and then they just respawned with full health in the second phase and then I gave up lol
Even just prioritizing the arms when he puts them into the ground is enough for me to do this now
Yep, it just takes more patience, but it can be baited into doing simple attacks for you to counter. I personally don't like bosses that are designed this way because this fight dynamic of wait and hit can be really tedious, and much prefer the Bloodborne/Sekiro type of fight where you are punished for waiting and baiting, and the fight becomes easier when you dive into the thick of it.
But I accept that Nioh is a different game, and try to enjoy it for what it is. I actually prefer navigating the levels and fighting the regular enemies more than the boss battles. Apart from the lacklustre story, the boss design is my only minor gripe about the game. Many people find the soul cores and inventory tracking to be a chore too, but you can just choose to ignore those if you wish, so I don't really care about that part.
Why do i have poison pools in my arena and you dont? Is there a way to drain them
how is your stamina regenerating so fast? especially with that weapon in hand? i have fists and still my stamina regenerates very slow and i don't have a heavy armour on me.
The way that helps me do it is to attack its body so its stamina goes low but not down, and wait for it to do a strong attack and deflect it. It should go down and I grapple on to it. It then goes into the yokai realm in which I just stay away from them
I'm subbing off the strength of the Hitchcock vibe 😂😂
Use dual hachets
Hold triangle to throw hachets at its head.
You don't have to go near him .
I used the blessed Gyousha hatchets found near the stairs
Hatchet cheese never gets old
This boss is much easier to deal with than the previous 3 bosses... my only problem is my own endurance, because this boss has so much HP and I just can't be consistent enough to whittle down its health little by little for what seems like an eternity.

Thats wild the first 2 bosses were easy i dont know about this 3rd boss you mention i thought the snaake was 3rd i beat the first boss within 10 tries the 2nd wind rock guy was so easy very simple to gimmick and bait this boss has taken me a whole day and im still mot done

I love you so much man. As much as you helped me in Sekiro, you helped me with this toxic b*tch of a boss. Died to that stupid-ass grab attack more times that I would care to count. Pretty much figured it out with the arm snakes, but your hint of bonking it on the head when it's glowing and the boss is coming towards you literally saved the day!
I wasn’t going to use the odachi but damned if that didn’t do the trick. My hatchets weren’t doing enough harm for some reason.
I think the fight favors hit and run more. I'm still garbage fucking worthless trash at the game and only recently flipped to being more aggro. But now this fight is showing I'm a fucking worthless mouth breathing piece of trash button presser being too aggro.
Throthgar just fought this boss on stream with 2 champions. The guru needs no champions.

Tips : use light armors so you could run, dogde easier. Ive tried for 30 times yesterday with heavy armor no success and 3 times today with light armor

Im glad to know Im not the only one who finds this guy super tanky. I was begginning to think I was really underleveled, but it seems to be a matter of patience against Yatsu. I guess since he's the last boss of the first region they really wanted him to be a hurdle.
I used the brilliant strategy of summoning a phantom as a distraction and let the snake focus on eating them while I got rid of half its health. I still ended up fluking it with no elixirs left. The frustrating thing is I know this shouldn't be hard, the snake is slow as fuck and there are clear points to deal damage to him, but he has so much health and such huge hitboxes that it was a real struggle beating him. That and the Dark World bullshit all the bosses pull, which is causing me to pile all my Shiftling points into Dark World resistance and Yokai Form duration.

Word of advice to fellow kusarigama users.
This boss really bites against that weapon, as the mechanic seems to benefit heavier single-hit weapons like swords. Therefore you have to invest into your openings more as the snek really doesn't like giving any. Bait snek like video says then use the Reaper skill on snek arms. Feels like this boss is just instructing you when to start swing spamming as you can REALLY chop away once you take off the arms and ruin it's ki.
Salt comes in handy too because he's so big. Just don't use it until it's armless or snek will drag your ass to the shadow realm repeatedly.

I used Dual Hatchets and just spammed heavy throws in High Stance.
Bruf, everything goes smooth and he hits me maybe 1-2 times through the whole fight, but when I get him to like 15-20% health I can’t seem to time right the dodge when he does the burst attack, idk why, then he turns around a couple more times and I’m dead. Mb I’m too nervous today, gonna try tomorrow.

This one seemed to be so impossible at the beginning. But you need to be patient. Do nothing than avoiding him in the Yokai realm. Attack his yellow head when he’s summoning the snakes. Go Yokai yourself when his hit points are down to one third.

I was literally already doing all of this, when a boss fight just becomes a tedious waiting game ya made a bad boss Team Ninja. I just get too impatient too keep the momentum, too much damn health.

Right I beat nioh 1 bosses even way under leveled. I'm like level 27 and still getting my ass whooped by this snake. Hardest nioh boss for me personally

@Tyler Kadle This is where I really learned the strength of using high stance. It def helps in taking damage from the snake and it's little snakes at the same time here.

With this boss I somehow got more luck with a slightly different strategy where I let the arms alone and concentrated on the snake's body and head. Otherwise you have to deal with a one-armed state which is obnoxious. Also, I may be mistaken but it seems that when the dark realm phase starts with 2 mini snakes and you kill both of them, it ends shortly after.
Tried this before watching your video, but got really desperate at hitting the little snakes that focus hitting on main boss, had a really bad time at shadow realm
