He was a kid at the wahs and they had to let him go because of the salary cap, not a problem for the storm ......
"hard work beats talent, when talent doesnt want to work" great example of this is Jack Howarth, signed him on a 500k contract as an 18 year old because he was a special talent, but Bellamy didnt just give him the job but made him work for it!, 3 years later and hes now blossoming.
I hate storm winning but I must admit they’re the most consistent at being the top4 year after year.
Since they started back in the 90s and I think Bellamy been coach through all of if except maybe 1 or 2 years

Israel Folau recently was interviewed in a podcast in NZ and he perfectly explained the Melbourne Storm club. It’s culture and had massive praise for Bellamy.
I just want to say Craig Bellamy is absolutely the best NRL coach, I mean even as far as just coach I will witness the entirety of their career in my life.
He is an absolute ledge. - you don't have to support Storm to respect this.
Flew over to Aus in 2007 from Nz with my Dad to watch the Storm win the GF!!
Bellamy literally help build the best/most successful club of the 21st century so far. Mad respect.

@@MidnightPursuit Its coz the Roosters and Broncos were established musch earlier that's why they have more but if you think about it, Storms is the team that has the most success than any other team since the NRL era..The only time I remember them missing the finals was back in 2010 coz they cheated the salary cap..

They were scrappy all throughout the season up until when they dominated the Roosters and lost to Dragons...they're now on song at the right time of the season

They have literally had a single good game in over a month, and that was against the Dolphins. They are peaking precisely at the right time and not a game to soon. They are also about to rest most of their players over the next two weeks. Definitely not peaking early.

He learnt from the best Coach in Wayne Bennett in what it takes to win and then he tweaked and added his own style and tactics.
He didnt learn anything from Bennett. He's said that Tim Sheens is his greatest influence. Look at all the NRL first grade coaches that came from the raiders teams that Sheens' coached.
Yeh sorry. he’s so far out on an island by himself as the goat that he only has Wilson the volleyball for company. Bennett and Gibson used to be the gold standard but he dropped them both off cold 14 years ago and he will become the first immortal coach.

Ivan cleary not even in near the same league as Bellamy. Ivan cleary is propped up by his son Nathan Cleary, Ivan didn't do much before Panthers, Bellamy has shown he can take anybody and win with them

Bellamy is a great coach. Does he coach his players to Milk any advantage possible? Likely.
Hasnt the storm consistently been a team despised for their history of flaunting the rules

@@yaboi6638 no, definitely meant to be back handed. The most successful coaches have typically been those that take advantage of the rules. Wayne bennet in his era of intentionally slowing the ruck down is one example.
Theres no 'unsportsman like conduct' for milking penalties and Bellamy ushered in the era of "winning at all costs"
Hes still a great coach for seeing holes in the system.
Just as a a further point.. we see almost every player these days flaunt the rules and milk penalties where possible.
NRL players were once lauded for there physical and mental toughness. Most of them carry on like soccer players these days, even when replays prove theres nothing in it.
Blight on the game in my opinion. Seeking unfair advantage has become a real hard thing to watch in the game
@@thedudebro168 Nah the others take advantage of loopholes and exploits when the team crumbles, it shows as they arent consistent throughout the years, Bellamy has kept storm consistent and dominant for the last 25 years, he knows how to show a players potential.

Cheats and breaks rules and the NRL let him, only team allowed to run obstructions and get away with it, every other team has the try taken off them, introduced wrestling to slow the game down to his players level, chicken wings, attack the opposition head, the list goes on, flogged when he coached Origin though
And yet, he still hasn't won back to back premierships like Ivan Cleary. Trent Robinson, and Wayne Bennett.
What would you rather, back to back premierships or 23 straight seasons in the 8 bar one when they were DSQd?

His had a one team town and he can't even win back to back titles.i judge a coach who can win 2 or 3 titles in a row.the best coach of the modern are is IVAN CLEARY no one comes close and if he was coaching the storm ivan cleary would win 6 in a row.
