Buc-ee's is HUGE in Texas and the surrounding region. It really is as good as people say. And it's a gas station, not a truck stop. No big rigs allowed.
As an Arizonan Buc-ee’s and HEB are the two Texas brands I most want to try next time I visit
Whataburger we have here in Arizona luckily, haha
And yet a big rig brings them all of their cheaply made, overpriced garbage.
@@rward75 Big rig drivers are so worthless. Tesla is going to replace them with robots w00t!
Never heard of Buckee's. And I'm a native Texan. Lived here all my life.
@@lowdown1222 Someone should replace you with a robot.
I’m always amazed that he doesn’t show more of the beautiful spots of a place in his videos. He shows the least interesting views you could possibly show. Texas has some amazing places outside the cities, especially the hills outside of Austin and the gulf coast beaches. I have a feeling he doesn’t do much walking except to the next restaurant.
Yeah, his videos are just not very good all around.
I commented about South Padre Island, Loved it, driving on the beach and having bonfires in the sand. Corpus Christi is my favorite city. Best Asian fusion and Korean BBQ
I was thinking the same thing. The hill country is amazing. West Texas Big Bend. Padre island, I'm going there for Thanksgiving.
At some point you can expound on the stereotypes which are generally correct but for love of God....Galveston and Padre Island and difference from The Rio Grande to Baylor Austin Houston Dallas and all the small towns my GOD dig in
right? he could have shot this from the canyon or something.
Texas is the only place I've lived/been where I've had hats tipped to me. I miss the food, it deserves all the enthusiasm. I lived in New Braunfels, not only was there Oktoberfest, Wassailfest. The driving can be INSANE.
floating the rapids in New Braunfels was a cornerstone of my childhood family vacations
Love New Braunfels! I’m from Bulverde so its cool to see someone from the area here
I’ve lived in canyon lake.. San Marcos now. Work in New Braunfels. Shout out to South Central Texas! Oh I drive by that Bucees every day and never stop lol
I love New Braunfels ! I’m from the valley.
@@DevBGleason Hell no! That place is a mad house 24/7! Only time we stop there is when we have family in town that want to see it
22:56 Texas is 2.8 times the size of the UK, so a bit more driving than you fellas are used to.
As a native Texan, shout-out to Shinerbock, and respect for a fine choice.
Also, its a silly video, even if Buccees is dope.
I love some Shiner, but lately I been all over Revolver Blood and Honey.
Mmmm Shiner Bock.
Shiner Bock is a great taste of home. Really glad it's available here in Colorado.
No love for ziegenbock?! Lol that’s my go to if shiner isn’t around
Shiner is great, grew up 10 minutes from the Brewery!
Nah, saying "You're welcome," when someone doesn't say "Thank you" is a thing here in the US, too, or at least here in Texas.
I don't think Ozzy did any time but he was banned from San Antonio (my home town) until the 1992.
He apologized and gave $10,000 to the group that takes care of the San Antonio missions.
Here's my 'don't' for visiting Texas: Don't go for a bicycle ride when it's 96
Id say thats pretty much universal no matter where you live. Lol
I would ride my longboard for 3 hours 2 times a week and its a pain in the.... Intense sweating and always having to hydrate sucks unless if its a summer morning. Biking may be easier but for the people who come from colder climates, doing it in the morning is your best bet. Youll pass many friendly people who also enjoy morning strolls
I second that! But if you do …bless your heart
The I 10 speed limit in Texas is 80 mph. It took me 2 days to drive on the I 10 from El Paso (Western border of Texas) to Houston (Eastern Border of Texas).
The fact that Daz knows about Gunspoint is amazing to me 😂
If he lived in The Woodlands he would obviously have heard it.
Can remember when Greenspoint/Gunpoint was one of the nicest places in the 70’s. But then the Bust of the mid 80’s destroyed the place because there were too many apartments. Holds its own to some degree since Bush International Airport is near.
@@gregdavidson670 I was born in December 1979, so I missed the glory days of Greenspoint Mall
Don’t overlook the tiny country towns with amazing mom & pop southern country diners.
San Antonio River Walk is such a cool place to visit. Had a prickly pear margarita there. It was huge and delicious. Best margarita I’ve ever had!
Just steer clear in summer unless you plan on staying in the same air-conditioned place along the river the whole time haha
Just want to thank you guys. You make my day, even if your blokes. Love ya
Hello guy's...I am retired from the Army here in the USA and my wife and i bought a house in Austin,Texas and we can't wait to move there...Its such a awesome place !!! I am not kidding !!!
My rich cousins lived in the Woodlands. Type of people who played Lacrosse and competitive cheerleading while their parents played golf living off money their grandfather made in oil somehow 😂
Yeah that's the woodlands
It takes 14+ hrs driving from my home in north Louisiana to my family in El Paso, Tx non-stop (with only restroom & food breaks). Nothing like driving into the blinding desert sun towards end of the day. Those drives are brutal.
Edit: Besides El Paso I lived in Austin, and I do love my Shiner Black lager.
This video felt more like a Texas food guide than a guide to the state lmfao
What I learned:
When you go places, look at things, as you do.
Food.
Hey I’m not even mad, one could go to TX literally just to eat
I was born and raised in Texas, and I 100% agree with Shinerbock. I now live in Michigan, but when I go back to visit, I always have to have one, especially in a chilled schooner. And I agree with the man in the video. Stay away from the Lone Star...He's definitely on point with all the food, y'all :)
75 mph is usually the speed limit on highways or main roads. And ozzy peed on the Alamo and got banned from texas I believe
Yeah he did lol. But on that show he had with Jack where they travel around he went back and got everything cleared up lol It was a funny episode if you ever see it.
There are large parts of Texas where the speed is 80mph. I know because I got a ticket for going 83mph in one of those areas. The cop said they put the speed that high so there is no excuse for speeding.
@@mortimerbrewster3671 Going north of Amarillo the speed is 75mph or 80mph, but I was doing around 93mph to keep pace with the traffic.
In the US the highway speed limit is now 75-70 on many Interstate highways and 80 in some places. Within a city it may be 65 or 55.
It’s 35 within city limits and typically 55 otherwise. Can’t remember ever seeing an 80 mph interstate.
Yeah there are several highways with 80mph limits near me in OK
Actually 85mph on some Texas roads. The SH 130 loop around Austin is at least
@@frankiesilverman IH 10 west of Kerrville to El Paso is mostly 85…
I love it here in Texas, only boring things ive experienced is the suburbs since it looks all the same with cookie cutter houses. The flatness of the north doesnt add beauty to it but anywhere else its amazing including inside the cities! Cheap gas and living and my only complaint is the drivers and traffic 😂 There are places you want to stay away from so i would just ask people if its safe in one area or another
Warning it is really hot here so I would recommend fall but then you’ll miss all the summer fun. Floating on a raft down the water, on the Guadalupe river with your you’re floating ice chest. Beer or wine soft drinks it’s up to you. Austin has fabulous food. Mostly in the little restaurants and don’t miss the trucks because they’re fabulous. 1:43 Also, Houston is actually considered very close to New York City for its restaurants. They’re are some beautiful lakes and campsites and you can go to Big bend national park in West Texas there’s camping there in it you can lay out on a blanket looking at the stars and you can see the Milky Way and so many stars. Just massive. You can’t even imagine how many there are. It’s a beautiful place it gets cold at night because it is a desert but it’s a lovely place I personally for lakes and rivers and trees but I do want to go there and just see the stars. There are many things to do in Texas in the summer and they all involve water. It is just too hot unless you’re in the water. I think it would be fun for people to visit. I mean I’ve lived here is born here there are still places that I enjoy going.
i was born and raised in greenspoint ,great shout out bro!!
Last February, we were on the tail end of a relatively mild winter and then, Minnesota came visiting for over a week of zero and subzero weather! Lots of our plumbing couldn’t hold up when we weren’t having any power!
My wife surprised me with a trip to Austin that weekend, and it wasn’t supposed to blow in for real until that Monday, so we decided to go with it.
The drive from Austin to Houston took about 7 hours because of the icy roads. It was…something
@@Autra3 I live just south of the panhandle. There’s an old saying about there not much between us and the North Pole but a few barb wire fences!
@@garyevans3421 I believe it. Y’all are nuts out there, but I guess I can’t say anything since we deal with, I dunno, hurricanes…😂😂
OMG it was so bad! My own house was one of the lucky ones that only lost power briefly. I've had family that did lose power for several days! One of my cousins even died in her apartment complex from the cold.
I've find that people are sweet everywhere I've traveled, but if y'all do come to Texas, y'all always have a place to stay in our home. 😘
Don't listen to this guy about college football on Saturdays being Texas only. College football is on Saturdays across the nation.. The same thing goes for high school football. It's on Fridays across the nation. Why he said it was a Texas only thing, who knows?
It's not a Texas only thing, but as someone who travels down there often, it's a much larger investment then I've seen in the states I've been to for highschool. We have some nice highschool stadiums here in Missouri but A LOT of the ones you see down there could be D2 D3 in size and amenities.
Maybe not specifically college, but high school football in Texas is huge compared to most other states. They have stadiums bigger than some colleges. Dont you remember Varsity Blues? Lol
In Texas we don't say the distance when asking how far a city is from another, We say how much time it takes.... "how far is Dallas from here?" "Oh its about 4 hours"
In my experience, that's how it is just about anywhere in the US.
I have the same experience living across America
It's cute when Texans think they're the only ones that do a particular thing; when in actuality most of America does the same thing.
Bless their little lone star hearts.
@@ihateskaters3362 Dude, it's not that big of a deal.
The little Green Man.... "Will you be my friend?"
Texan here:
1) the speed limit is 85 mph in some stretches, and everyone adds the obligatory +5 mph.
2) on the point that there are a lot of people from other parts of the US here, that's actually a point of friction. We *love* people coming in from other countries to visit. There are different cultural and political divides *inside* the US though, so we aren't terribly fond of swarms of folks coming from say the West Coast, especially as they tend to be fleeing negative situations in their home States. It is a running joke that Austin (our capital but not the biggest city) is really just a giant Californian embassy in the middle of the State. And if you know Texans and how we feel about Cali, you know that's not exactly meant as a good thing.
But as for visitors from other countries, you will be a hit in Texas. People will ask you about your home, how your family are doing, tell you how much they love your accent (you might even get tired of hearing about it), and go out of their way to help you out. We generally reserve our oneriness for our fellow Americans...and the French...and we like to tease Canadians because they are our collective weird little brothers and they don't really count as foreigners.
3) No, he's not being paid by Buckees. It's just like that. It's hard to explain. Mostly because it doesn't really make sense, but we're okay with that.
4) He didn't mention: don't talk about guns or politics! People are very passionate on certain issues, the whole landscape of the discussion is different than wherever you're from, and this stuff gets debated *heatedly* inside the country ("debated" is a nice word for it). You don't really want to walk into that mess as a newcomer, and no one will really be terribly concerned to listen to your opinion as an outsider on these very American issues. Hopefully, no American is walking into a Dublin pub and starting debates about The Troubles, Protestant/Catholic, British/Irish, Brexit, etc. And if he did, I would expect the otherwise quite lovely locals to tell him quite colorfully to go mind his own business. This kind of thing applies in Texas just like it does everywhere.
5) be willing to talk to strangers. This may seem in contrast to what I've already said, but Texans are very open and personable. You'll have complete strangers tell you "Good Morning," or comment on the weather or make other small talk. Don't be nervous. It's perfectly normal here. If you do that London/Manhattan/Berlin thing where you just walk around looking straight ahead and silently avoiding eye contact, people will think you're full of yourself or unfriendly. From what I've heard, folks from the North of England know what I'm talking about.
I still remember my short visit to London back in 2005 very fondly. We missed the "normal" English weather, and got to experience how lovely London can be during the Summer. It was really one of the nicest places I've visited. God bless!
Ozzy got a fine did not do time, also got banned from San Antonio for a long time!

Bro when he said Gunspoint I was shocked lmao! I have been calling greenspoint Guns point for years and years
Native Texan watching from Houston, let's see how accurate this 😅
...and?

It's mighty Reckless Don't Mess with Texas!
Buccees has always been huge and the cleanest gas stations you can go to. Very clean.
I've had the opportunity to live in multiple Texas cities for work with the government, Dallas, Austin, Fort Worth, Corpus Christi, Houston, College Station and San Antonio. My favorite cities are Austin and Corpus Christi. South x Southwest in Austin is loads of fun if you're 18-32, loads of music events and famous speakers and 6th street! 6th street is often blocked off and $2 drinks are common there. My favorite play was Corpus Christi and South Padre Island, it's a naval/industrial/beach city. You can drive your vehicle on the sand on South Padre Islands and burn bonds fires while watching the oil rigs just off the coast. One the weekends, my co-workers and I drive down the island in pitch blackness, far from lights and people and you can only hear the roaring ocean (Gulf) and stars. Park the van, drag the coolers out, dig a bond fire hole and just enjoy the ocean and the breeze, The best feeling in the world. South Padre Island goes 60 miles down. Iv'e had the best Asian Fusion and Korean BBQ in Corpus Christi, Z Cafe had the best asian fusion with beef wrapped in pancake, just mind blowing.
Citizen speed limits 85mph in Texas city to city. 80 Harris (houston) and Galveston counties. As fast as you want from houston to corpus, Austin, San Antonio.
70 and 75 common on most interstates
Yeah, but most people down south at least drive well past the speed limit. Really the only people that do follow the speed limit on an open road are those slow ass grandmas from Seattle
As a Texan, I'm ready for this to be wildly inaccurate, but we shall see
Edit: Wouldnt be my list at all, but none of them were completely wrong. Buckees is dope though
This video seemed very cookie-cutter, like 90% of the stuff he said could be applied to just about anywhere. Things like ‘look around’, visit small towns, try local beer, drive around or uber, etc. Stuff youd normally do anywhere you visited. This guy seems like a tool.
Loved the queso “O” face, lol
I live near Greenspoint and calling it Gunspoint is very accurate lol. Didn’t know you worked near Houston, very cool!
Wait…Bucees is off limits to trucks…..it is not a truck stop.
He’s not from Texas.
In Florida right now it’s 60 degrees Fahrenheit and I’m freezing my ass off
I gotta be 78 to 80 !!!! All times
I’ve been to Texas, don’t feel unsafe in Texas, Texas is one of the most safe places you can be in the USA. I felt safer walking to the 7 Eleven at 2 am than I ever would a 7 Eleven in Canada.
That's because of the Second Amendment and all of the law-abiding citizen CCW holders. :) Same as many PARTS here in Virginia.
@@TLL1969
Oh come on, dude
If the 2A and more guns meant more public safety, this country would be the safest country on Earth
And we all know that’s not remotely the case
Plenty of good, law-abiding gun owners all over America, yes, and I’m not knocking them. More power to them… But they aren’t making this a safer country by any stretch.
Where in Texas was this 7 Eleven? Just curious

@@apex_blue yea, exactly!
Speed Limit does vary by state. NJ is densely populated so it's lower than Texas, Texas has a very high maximum speed.
In texas some highways are up to 80mph and some school zones that are on the highways here go up to 45mph
Most highways here are 70 mph, but a couple are stuck at 65 and a few have moved up to 75. 70 is a pretty safe bet, though :)
Buc-ee's is a Travel Plaza, not just a gas station and NO TRUCKS. It's NOT a truck stop. I always thought it was just yeah, yeah, yeah, but it really is pretty cool
If you come to Texas, go to Deep Ellum and try the local beers in the local bars. Most of them have their own special selection, like Dallas Blonde, for instance. And Lone Star is AWFUL
You're welcome when someone doesn't say thank you isn't just an English thing. We do it here, too ;)
Pro-tip: Celery makes a great dipper for spinach artichoke dip, but you have to request it
The Alamo isn't the coolest sight, it's the Spanish missions....The Alamo is literally a Spanish mission, just not as big as the ones he's talking about
H-Town! I also worked in Greenspoint and lived in The Woodlands.
In one episode of 'Ozzie & Jack's World Detour', Ozzie went back to San Antonio & the police report said he was arrested for Urinating in Public. The location was in an alley across from the Alamo. Not on the Alamo. He was in his wife's clothes at the time. She had hidden all his clothes so he wouldn't be tempted to go out while he was drunk. So he put hers on instead. LOL!! Texas is about the size of France. Maybe a little bigger but about that size.
Never been to Texas but as far as speed limits on the highway in most places I have been in America if you are going with the flow of traffic and not driving erratic then the cops don't care. I was on 595 In south Florida and was going about 110 with a few cars one time and we passed a cop and he didn't do anything. Now I don't recommend doing that it was a specific situation but like I said if everyone is breaking the limit then it's fair game. Just don't do 90 if everyone else is doing 70 in a 65 zone.
the woodlands is a great area
I'm so happy im drunk and live In Austin Texas. I just ordered me some poke Joe's Bar-B-Q!!!
Yes big huge star on it and that’s why I called the Lonestar state. I’m pretty sure every state in the United States has their own flag.
Stop watching this dude with the Do's and Don'ts. He represents about 10% of the population. If you really want to know some good advice, then ask a trucker. We go everywhere and have been everywhere. We see the places that most people just talk about going to.

But then I realized I’m sitting and watching someone else watch a video and I reflected on where we are as a species then stopped watching.
By the way, Buc-EE’s is NOT a Truck stop. It’s really a tourist stop. VERY clean, everything is fresh, and you can get an INSANE variety of food there.

I don't Ozzy did any time for pissing on the Alamo but I remember he was banned from playing San Antonio for many years
Ozzy was caught pissing by or on the Alamo, public indecency. I am not sure of the full punishment.
I’m a unicorn. A born and bred Austinite. 3rd generation 😉
So 60 year old Texan here. Okay this list is kinda touristy BS. Texas is so big that people from South Texas get culture shock going to North Texas. The Mexican food is nowhere as good as it used to be. The one thing he gets right is to visit the small towns especially in the hill country to get the real flavor of Texas. The big city’s are just that, but do have a distinctive flavor apart from the others. Eff queso, go to south Texas and eat real Mexican ranch food.
US TRIVIA! -There are 11 U.S. states that are bigger than Britain, including Alaska, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California and Michigan. Oil-rich Texas is almost three times the size of the UK, while sunny California is almost twice as big.
--A few more fun facts: Texas would be the 39th largest country in the world (out of 197) if it were its own country. You could fit all of the UK inside Texas 2.8 times. Even more amazingly, you could fit TEN European countries inside Texas at once, with room to spare. ~wiki
**Sizes in the US are not limited to food. Germany is about as big as Montana and the Czech Republic is about as big as Virginia.

Also Texans cannot drive on icey roads.
At least here in central/south Texas.
They are probably better at it up in the pan handle because they are used to harsher winters.
...btw is harsher a word? Lmk
Who CAN drive on icey roads? It’s not a matter or we “can’t” it’s more the fact most cities are or equipped for, still I would say we EXCEL at driving on icey roads simply because we rarely get snow--but we get a lot of ice. Big difference.
6:58 Not a truck stop. Big trucks aren't allowed at Bucees.
Texas highway speed depends on the population of the county mist interests are 75 far out west interest 10 and interest 20 the speed limit is 85.

Also it was hilarious when that man was talking about the food
Not whatever lol
I was watching the show with Ozzy and Jack touring the US in a camper/truck and Jack was trying to see if they could go there, but he was having trouble getting an answer from the city council. Ozzy in the meantime seems like he's about to flip out, not wanting to go. Anyway, they did and there was only a misdemeanor public indecensy from wearing is wife's dress to get out into the city. He said that they always tried to keep him in the hotel, with the group, but it just doesn't always work out. Anyway, sorry for the rambling, but he was never caught or got into trouble for peeing on anything.
He is guilty for biting the head off of a bat that someone threw onto the stage. He thought it was a toy. Uh, nope, no toy. LOL
🤦♂️
They are referencing the fact that Ozzy peed on the memorial cenotaph across from the Alamo back in the 1980s. He was arrested and then banned from San Antonio, but later apologized and made a donation for the site's upkeep and repair and was allowed to return.
It was a bigger deal than what he did on some recent reality show.
From Houston to Houma? Good God. That seems like what someone would suggest to a person they wanted to become terminally depressed to the point of "self harm".
I have never been to Texas, but they recently opened a Buc-ee's here in a Florida. It's a 104 pump gas station that is about 53k square feet. It is huge and have a lot of interesting things.
