    I’m always amazed that he doesn’t show more of the beautiful spots of a place in his videos. He shows the least interesting views you could possibly show. Warning it is really hot here so I would recommend fall but then you’ll miss all the summer fun. Floating on a raft down the water, on the Guadalupe river with your you’re floating ice chest. Beer or wine soft drinks it’s up to you. Austin has fabulous food. Mostly in the little restaurants and don’t miss the trucks because they’re fabulous. 1:43 Also, Houston is actually considered very close to New York City for its restaurants. They’re are some beautiful lakes and campsites and you can go to Big bend national park in West Texas there’s camping there in it you can lay out on a blanket looking at the stars and you can see the Milky Way and so many stars. Just massive. You can’t even imagine how many there are. It’s a beautiful place it gets cold at night because it is a desert but it’s a lovely place I personally for lakes and rivers and trees but I do want to go there and just see the stars. There are many things to do in Texas in the summer and they all involve water. It is just too hot unless you’re in the water. I think it would be fun for people to visit. I mean I’ve lived here is born here there are still places that I enjoy going.

    @jameswoodard4304 Před rokem

    Texan here:
    1) the speed limit is 85 mph in some stretches, and everyone adds the obligatory +5 mph.
    2) on the point that there are a lot of people from other parts of the US here, that's actually a point of friction. We *love* people coming in from other countries to visit. There are different cultural and political divides *inside* the US though, so we aren't terribly fond of swarms of folks coming from say the West Coast, especially as they tend to be fleeing negative situations in their home States. It is a running joke that Austin (our capital but not the biggest city) is really just a giant Californian embassy in the middle of the State. And if you know Texans and how we feel about Cali, you know that's not exactly meant as a good thing.
    But as for visitors from other countries, you will be a hit in Texas. People will ask you about your home, how your family are doing, tell you how much they love your accent (you might even get tired of hearing about it), and go out of their way to help you out. We generally reserve our oneriness for our fellow Americans...and the French...and we like to tease Canadians because they are our collective weird little brothers and they don't really count as foreigners.
    3) No, he's not being paid by Buckees. It's just like that. It's hard to explain. Mostly because it doesn't really make sense, but we're okay with that.
    4) He didn't mention: don't talk about guns or politics! People are very passionate on certain issues, the whole landscape of the discussion is different than wherever you're from, and this stuff gets debated *heatedly* inside the country ("debated" is a nice word for it). You don't really want to walk into that mess as a newcomer, and no one will really be terribly concerned to listen to your opinion as an outsider on these very American issues. Hopefully, no American is walking into a Dublin pub and starting debates about The Troubles, Protestant/Catholic, British/Irish, Brexit, etc. And if he did, I would expect the otherwise quite lovely locals to tell him quite colorfully to go mind his own business. This kind of thing applies in Texas just like it does everywhere.
    5) be willing to talk to strangers. This may seem in contrast to what I've already said, but Texans are very open and personable. You'll have complete strangers tell you "Good Morning," or comment on the weather or make other small talk. Don't be nervous. It's perfectly normal here. If you do that London/Manhattan/Berlin thing where you just walk around looking straight ahead and silently avoiding eye contact, people will think you're full of yourself or unfriendly. From what I've heard, folks from the North of England know what I'm talking about.
    I still remember my short visit to London back in 2005 very fondly. We missed the "normal" English weather, and got to experience how lovely London can be during the Summer. It was really one of the nicest places I've visited. God bless!

    I've had the opportunity to live in multiple Texas cities for work with the government, Dallas, Austin, Fort Worth, Corpus Christi, Houston, College Station and San Antonio. My favorite cities are Austin and Corpus Christi. South x Southwest in Austin is loads of fun if you're 18-32, loads of music events and famous speakers and 6th street! 6th street is often blocked off and $2 drinks are common there. My favorite play was Corpus Christi and South Padre Island, it's a naval/industrial/beach city. You can drive your vehicle on the sand on South Padre Islands and burn bonds fires while watching the oil rigs just off the coast. One the weekends, my co-workers and I drive down the island in pitch blackness, far from lights and people and you can only hear the roaring ocean (Gulf) and stars. Park the van, drag the coolers out, dig a bond fire hole and just enjoy the ocean and the breeze, The best feeling in the world. South Padre Island goes 60 miles down. Iv'e had the best Asian Fusion and Korean BBQ in Corpus Christi, Z Cafe had the best asian fusion with beef wrapped in pancake, just mind blowing.

      If the 2A and more guns meant more public safety, this country would be the safest country on Earth
      And we all know that’s not remotely the case
      Plenty of good, law-abiding gun owners all over America, yes, and I’m not knocking them. More power to them… But they aren’t making this a safer country by any stretch.

The location was in an alley across from the Alamo. Not on the Alamo. He was in his wife's clothes at the time. She had hidden all his clothes so he wouldn't be tempted to go out while he was drunk. So he put hers on instead. LOL!! Texas is about the size of France. Maybe a little bigger but about that size.

    Never been to Texas but as far as speed limits on the highway in most places I have been in America if you are going with the flow of traffic and not driving erratic then the cops don't care. I was on 595 In south Florida and was going about 110 with a few cars one time and we passed a cop and he didn't do anything. Now I don't recommend doing that it was a specific situation but like I said if everyone is breaking the limit then it's fair game. Just don't do 90 if everyone else is doing 70 in a 65 zone.

The Mexican food is nowhere as good as it used to be. The one thing he gets right is to visit the small towns especially in the hill country to get the real flavor of Texas. The big city’s are just that, but do have a distinctive flavor apart from the others. Eff queso, go to south Texas and eat real Mexican ranch food.

    US TRIVIA! -There are 11 U.S. states that are bigger than Britain, including Alaska, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California and Michigan. Oil-rich Texas is almost three times the size of the UK, while sunny California is almost twice as big.
    --A few more fun facts: Texas would be the 39th largest country in the world (out of 197) if it were its own country. You could fit all of the UK inside Texas 2.8 times. Even more amazingly, you could fit TEN European countries inside Texas at once, with room to spare. ~wiki
