    the ford lazers had the mazda motors in them but the festivas had a kia / hundai motor in them

    I'm sorry to say, you have your facts wrong. The AU falcon was the best selling falcon ford produced. They sold as the falcon, futura, fairmont, fairlane and LTD in both sedan and wagon excluding the fairlane and LTD. The AU was a transition model, from the windscreen back it was an E series falcon, i.e. EA thru to EL, and from the the windscreen forward it was a BA falcon. The engine was a mixture of with E series heads and the block was the 6 bolt main block out of the BA. The red fiesta body was built by KIA in south korea and the engine was a mazda engine built by kia under licence from mazda

      I think you might be a ways off. You need only look at the roofline and boot of an AU to see its not an E Series from the windscreen back.
      And it was certainly not the best seller either. Go check the sales charts

    The first car is a Ford Falcon XF 4.1 6CYL (1985-1987)

      The red one was marked up as a 1981, which would make it an XD, but I have no idea if that's correct. I'm not totally across the minor detail changes between the XD/XE/XF.
