Context matters
It's a league of what have you done for me lately and sometimes the coach's teachings or voice over time falls on death ears, so you need new blood. Also the league moves fast in innovations some coaches get passed up or figured out. But tomlin should be gone hasn't done anything in forever. Mediocre every year. It's a indictment even more since he's never had a losing season which you would think he'd have more playoff wins or suoerbowl appearances.
Players also quit on coaches, look at the chargers. They gave up to a mediocre raiders team who has never scored that many points before even with way better teams. Everyone saw chargers quit on staley, was very obvious.
Wildes' Purdy and Sirianni comparison is really interesting. I hadn't considered it, but it is true that Nick seems to entirely blame both men when their team struggles and never credit either one when they succeed.
This always happens in sports though.
LeBron and AD get credit when the Lakers win, and the supporting cast gets blamed when they lose.

The 2022 eagles roster was better than what Purdy currently has. The comparison holds no weight at all.
It's funny how purdy haters adjusted this season by saying the 9ers are basically the best team is nfl history. It's the only way to explain how well he's played, and so now they can only lose because of him.
I think Vrabel is a defensive minded head coach who instills toughness across the entire roster. But, like most - if not all - defensive HCs, he must be paired with a great Offensive coordinator to run an efficient offense.
pretty accurate take. as we've seen trending over the last decade with the modern game defensive HC are phasing out. They just cant compete with the offenses of offensive masterminds like Shanahan, McVay, Harbaugh etc

Perhaps the Titans are having second thoughts on Will Levis and may take a QB in this draft so they might move up? They would probably prefer an offensive coach then. Believe Henry is a FA too iirc so an offensive coach would make sense, that offense will have to be remade.
Vrabel will get another shot though, he did a good overall job with the Titans.

Dont forget when the Colts fired Jim Mora early in Peyton's career they brought in Tony Dungy a defensive guy. Vrabels guys played hard to the end. The organization gave Tannehill a contract he didnt deserve and hamstrung the organization badly. Then they wasted a pick on Malik Willis a STONE COLD BUM. They had to get rid of AJ because hes a bad guy.

I hope Dallas is overlooking Green Bay the way Nick is. They went 7-3 in their last 10 games, including beating KC at home and beating the Lions in Detroit, playing BETTER against the Lions then Dallas did at home. Offensively they can probably hang with Dallas, the question is what version of their defense shows up. Dallas should absolutely be favored in this game, but I think the Packers have a punchers chance.

take this with a grain of salt because this is just pure fandom but i’m always gonna believe in the Packers to play close or flat out beat the Packers with or without Rodgers. During the last decade + Some games we had no business beating them even with him and without him we still won.
