Same thing. When I was 3 my mum dry her hair with an hairdryer. Every time she did that I would lay in my bed and just listen to that noise. Eventually I would drift of to sleep.

Iam 27yo and for all this years I thought IAM Crazy for liking hairdryer sounds. I also once a day turn on the hairdryer just to listen to the sound and get relaxed. The sound makes me so sleepy. Untill today when I decided to Google this and look for answers. I don't know why I didn't think of this befor. It's interesting that certain sounds can ingrain themselves into our memories. I read once that some believe ASMR responses can even be stuff we hear through the womb before we are even born. Would explain why most are usually stuff like dryers and vacuums and not things like car engines.

When I was 5-11 years old, I always sat in my sister's room when she dried her hair, and that made me fall asleep. Actually, a few weeks ago I had my hair dryer on and it almost caught my room on fire, as I fell asleep while drying my hair. I'm not embarrassed to admit that at 18 years old, this still makes me incredibly sleepy, sometimes even putting me to sleep.
