I'm 54 yrs. old can relate and love the song is because it reminds us of a time when things were much different. I don't know about everybody but I'm just sayin in the seventies it was more about love and being kind and nice to people and not being so offended by what everybody had to say, letting stuff roll off your back. If you were a party or bar and somebody accidentally bumped into you... It would be like " oh sorry dude... Oh no problem brother have yourself some fun ". Nowadays it seems like when something like that happens there's always a fight. It was a time when you can leave your doors unlocked and you didn't have to worry about you kids hanging out three blocks down the street. It just seemed like a much happier times. Everybody wasn't so damned UP TIGHT. If I could just tell one thing to try and make this world a better place before die. I would say the same thing that my dad always told me and I didn't and I didn't listen to it either. The first thing that I would want to stay is... Please don't grow up too fast because if you do the end comes to quick and you don't realize that until you're 50 and you look back and wonder where all the years went and another thing I would like to say would be just being nice to people. It is so much easier to say something kind then to say something nasty. The last thing would be... if you see someone that needs a hand... help them out you never know when you might need help. So if you do all three of those things now stick with me and just imagine this... Start using words like groovy or peace✌️and far out. They all might sound silly to you but just read the words again and say them out loud. If someone was walking by you and said something like that could you get mad. ✌️ You dig all that I was saying. Wally Wayne I know what you are saying I’m 55 years old life seemed a lot simpler kids played outdoors all day long gone for hrs at a time groups of children riding their bikes all over the neighborhood, kids were more active back then played kickball out in the streets ,kids had more freedoms than they do today. You had stay at home moms dads supported their families on one paycheck most families had only one car. There wasn’t all of this PC crap that they have today people these days are to easily offended if someone says something to them. People seemed happier back then Everybody back in those days knew their neighbors, I remember my parents having BBQ’s get togethers had people over for coffee and desserts. Invited neighbors and their family members to the house It’s sad how things have turned out these days.

I was lucky enough to see Michael and the Jackson 5 at the University of Tennessee football stadium in the early 80's. It was absolutely one of the best days of my life. I love you all !

Yes. I was born in 1961. Returned from Okinawa in 1970. I saw the Jackson 5 perform on American Band Stand. I immediately fell in love with Micheal. My dad immediately bought me The Third Album! Then ABC came at Christmas. It broke my heart when he passed as I was always looking forward to what he was releasing next! It's wonderful that your mother exposed you to some good old school.My dad had me listening to Edfue Holland, Diana Ross & Supremes. Gladys Night & the list goes on. I lost my daddy in 1998. But he and brothers never played any instruments while recording at motown as the Jackson 5ive. (Jermaine's post J5 recordings at motown are a different story) All instruments were played by motown's uber talented roster of session musicians. This is one of the reasons along with not being able to write and produce their own songs, the Jackson's association with motown came to a end in 1975.
I just wanted to say how much this song means to me. My cousin just passed away and this song was on his favorites playlist. I used to listen to michael jackson a lot more, but after his passing it became a lot harder to listen to these songs without thinking of my cousin. Ben is someone I wish you could meet. He had such an amazing personality. He beat cancer, had a heart transplant, and still managed to have the best humor ever. He really knew how to brighten your day. If i ever had problems he would want to talk about it. He would pick me up and make me forget about everything. All my stress, my homework, my parents. We thought he would live forever. He died at the ripe age of 25. I'm only 16, and this was the biggest loss I've ever had. We used to listen to this song as well as many others on the way to my grandparents cottage which is the place to be during the summer. It was his favorite place as well as mine. I haven't been there since he died 3 months ago. At the end of this song when they have the backup singers with Micheal singing " I'll be there " all i can think about is my cousin and how he was always there for me. I sometimes thought he would just hang out with me because he felt bad. But i talked to his best friend who I know very well and apparently I was the favourite which is good. My point is this song brings back a lot of good memories. Hot summer days. Lake days. I miss those. I miss him. I hope one day ill see him again. I love ya bud. You will always be in my heart. ❤

As a child, I rode the bus to school, and one of the teenage girls on the bus got a battery operated record player for Christmas. She would play records every morning on the way to school, and she was a HUGE J5 fan. Every time I hear this song, it takes me back, and I think of her.

Then ABC came at Christmas. It broke my heart when he passed as I was always looking forward to what he was releasing next! It's wonderful that your mother exposed you to some good old school.My dad had me listening to Edfue Holland, Diana Ross & Supremes. Gladys Night & the list goes on. I lost my daddy in 1998. But he and brothers never played any instruments while recording at motown as the Jackson 5ive. (Jermaine's post J5 recordings at motown are a different story) All instruments were played by motown's uber talented roster of session musicians. This is one of the reasons along with not being able to write and produce their own songs, the Jackson's association with motown came to a end in 1975.

I just wanted to say how much this song means to me. My cousin just passed away and this song was on his favorites playlist. I used to listen to michael jackson a lot more, but after his passing it became a lot harder to listen to these songs without thinking of my cousin. Ben is someone I wish you could meet. He had such an amazing personality. He beat cancer, had a heart transplant, and still managed to have the best humor ever. He really knew how to brighten your day. If i ever had problems he would want to talk about it. He would pick me up and make me forget about everything. All my stress, my homework, my parents. We thought he would live forever. He died at the ripe age of 25. I'm only 16, and this was the biggest loss I've ever had. We used to listen to this song as well as many others on the way to my grandparents cottage which is the place to be during the summer. It was his favorite place as well as mine. I haven't been there since he died 3 months ago. At the end of this song when they have the backup singers with Micheal singing " I'll be there " all i can think about is my cousin and how he was always there for me. I sometimes thought he would just hang out with me because he felt bad. But i talked to his best friend who I know very well and apparently I was the favourite which is good. My point is this song brings back a lot of good memories. Hot summer days. Lake days. I miss those. I miss him. I hope one day ill see him again. I love ya bud. You will always be in my heart. ❤
