@@ogk7289 I am speaking for we Nigerians. From north to south of Nigeria. Majority of us love our afrobeat or any kind of upbeats sounds. This is culturally in our DNA. Infact we would love makossa kind of music (which is not Nigerian) than Tems kind of music. Take that to the bank.

Nigerians are not failing Tems. Tems. Tems is now playing to satisfy America's taste, with a fusion of Afrobeat and R&B. And that's OK. But Nigeria loves Afrobeat.
It's ironic that Nigeria captured the attention of the world with Afrobeat, but many Afrobeat artistes are moving away from Afrobeat. Burna Boy claims he is doing Afro-fusion. Rema said he is doing Afro-pop. Many of them are doing Amapiano. Wizkid outrightly rejected Afrobeat.
You can say that about other Nigerian artists but not Tems get your facts right ,from her first songs and hits none has been the Afro beat genre.
She has not hidden it that she has her own genre, which made her frustrated in her early start because many producers said she can't Make it in Nigeria with this genre but she stuck to her guns and that made her to start self produce.
So, you are saying that Tems is not doing Afrobeat? Is that not the whole point? Nigeria loves Afrobeat. But Tems is not doing Afrobeat. So, Nigeria is not failing her by not being enthusiastic about her genre.
I love tems... I even prefer her to ayra starr.... Nigerians are not used to Tems kind of music
