Worked on a brand new GW-9500 after a few minutes. What made the trick for me was to left the phone laying still on a table, with the watch on top of the phone's screen.

I bought a second hand GW-9500 which works just fine and I can see that the time has synced some days ago. For some reason pushing and holding the Altimeter button doesn't do anything (like yours is showing the initialization of the sync). Dunno why's that :(

in my humble opinion, this is because you choose city that don't have that feature. I give example. Mine is GMT +8 region. When I choose city as Singapore, that country don't have calibration signal. So, I have to change from Singapore to Hong Kong. Please refer qw3553 manual page 34 title CITY TABLE. thank you.

@@kdsayang I found what the problem was. It was the Baro alarm that when it was on then the feature wasn't working. I disabled it and works like a charm now. Manual's reference to the city it's because you might not have signal not that it doesn't work. Cheers anyway mate

here in Malaysia, it is almost impossible to have that watch sync. I found another solution using apps called "radio watch sync". open the apps and let your watch near it. mine in 3 minutes settle sync
